"It was very nice, very clean, and there are a lot of rooms. Staff was very nice and treated us well. We went there unannounced, so they weren't expecting us, they treated us well. It's close to where I live and there wasn't a lot of traffic, you can get around. "

We believe that a strong benefit in living in a retirement community is the opportunity to receive the highest possible level of care and services. "We love Wynwood House - Nittany Valley. It's small and easy to maneuver inside. It's very homey and cozy as soon as you walk in the door. The room that we are taking is a suite, so it's a double room and it's cheaper than the other places. It's also just five minutes away from us, so we can go visit as often as we like. The person that we dealt with was outstanding, very nice, and very polite. I have the facilitator's number, and I'm just able to text her and ask her several questions. She's been so accommodating. I can go in any time I want to get things set up for my father-in-law. So, it's been a wonderful experience with them."

"The fellow that owns Wynwood House is very nice. My aunt and uncle had been there, so I knew the place and I knew them well. The owner was actually willing to hold the room for me until we convinced my mother to move in. He was just so easy to deal with. The room was just right; it was absolutely fine. The size was fine too. You can have a bed, a dresser, a night table, two chairs, and a TV. They actually were re-painting and re-carpeting the room. They do have a lot of activities for people who want to participate. I saw people in the great room that they have for everybody. They take residents to doctors' appointments (they charge to do that if you can't). They have all sorts of recreational activities and they have somebody that comes in and plays the piano. It was very nice."

"I did not have very many interactions with the staff except for a few nurses that helped my grandmother. Overall the interactions was friendly and the staff seemed like they enjoyed their jobs and generally cared for the patients. I wasn't able to explore much of the facility, as I spent most of the time in my grandmother's room. The room was a little hospital like but it was comfortable enough and my grandmother did not seem to mind it. We were able to have a nice time in a large seating area and enjoyed our time with the other patients and staff. Overall I would recommend this facility to others. My dad, who was there every day checking on her only had positive comments every night when he came home. "

"Foxdale Village was very nice and it would have everything we would need if we needed more help taking care of ourselves. It's nicely landscaped, and the interior spaces were lovely. It's just not what we need right now. I didn't have a formal tour. I had an informal tour with my friend who lived in one of the apartments there. It's like a little house and it was set up very nicely. She had her own furniture there, and she had her own things hanging on the walls. It was nicely maintained by Foxdale. She had assistance in cleaning, she had assistance in getting around if she had some problems, and she had meals and that seemed to be very good. She said she liked the food. It's one of the most expensive ones in town and that concerned me because I'm not sure that we could maintain ourselves at those costs. They can provide assistance as needed. When you buy into Foxdale, as you age and develop more physical problems, you can transfer from independent living into more assisted living gradually, and then full assistance if you develop dementia or if you develop some other disease that requires full-time attention."

"Juniper Village Wellspring Memory Care at Brookline had a lot of staff working, and the residents seemed happy. The rooms were quite lovely, and they had two separate dining rooms for the memory care people. They had a big kitchen that they could do projects in. The layout of the room was fine, it seemed very adequate, and the bathroom was fine. I was impressed with everything that I saw. The person who took me around was lovely. They all smiled and greeted me. They had a calendar of events that they do."

"North Ridge Center Personal Care is fantastic. The staff is great. The rooms are great, they're adequate size, and very well kept. I wouldn't have Mom at any other place. The food is fine, and the dining area is big enough for the amount of people that they have there. It's a very small place, and it's strictly assisted living. They have activities going on all the time. It's the best place in the area to be. It's out in the country, very quiet, and very peaceful. It's a really nice setting and has a family atmosphere."

"Amazing people,they we so good with my mother. If I could give them a 10 I would. The staff is what makes that home so good. I was always informed every step of the way. Up until my mother passed away. Wonderful staff"

"Salem Hill is wonderfully unique in the care they offer. The staff is friendly and efficient. They truly care about their patients and work hard to provide for each patient's needs. Dan and Donna are available and willing to answer questions, field concerns, and they keep a personal watch over the maintainence and operation of their home. My Mother received excellent care there. I am hoping she will recoup from a fall that has placed her in a rehab center to be able to return to her friends at Salem Hill. I recommend this facility to anyone needing assisted living for themselves or a loved one. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated, the food is good, and the care excellent. Five stars to Dan, Donna, and the Staff:-) "

"My husband was in HealthSouth four different times. The cleanliness was great. They didn’t respond very quickly to my husband a lot of times -- fortunately, he didn’t fall. He was in a private room and in a shared room at one point as well. There was plenty of room for him. They need more staff to keep up with residents instead of having one therapist for nine different people. I caught several residents sleeping during one of the therapy sessions. "

"As far as the setup and everything, The Oaks at Pleasant Gap was nice. I think they offered some nice things like physical therapy. The lady who toured me around was great. It just seemed a little dingy to me, and a little bit older. There's nothing wrong with that. I think it would be nice for a lot of people. I just didn't have a good feeling for my father-in-law to be there."

"My parents were at The Village at Penn State. They were in independent living and then they moved into The Atrium. The Atrium is their step-up care facility, so once you can't take care of yourself, they move them there. The staff was very good. The accommodation was very nice. The facility itself was very nice. It's just a great place. They have swimming, recreation, movies, and a library. They have a lot of activities. They have arts and crafts, too. They were just a lot of things to do. It is in a nice location. It overlooks the Beaver Stadium."

"The people at Wynwood House are very personable. They have made my father very comfortable and I would recommend them. The staff is very kind and courteous. He enjoys the food and is very pleased with the menu selection. They take very good care of him and there seems to be a lot of staff there. They also take care of his medication on time and do his laundry. It's a brand new place. So, all the furniture is very nice and the size of the room is good. They have activities like some different study groups and an exercise program. We're very, very pleased with Wynwood House."
