"The rooms are big,large,and comfortable with attached kitchen. They have 24/7 nursing care. Nurses and nurses aids are very efficient and caring. Inside Whitehall Manor they have a hair salon,the hair salon lady is there from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. they have many kinds of activities like bingo, checkers,and many more. The men can play pool and golf.They celebrate every holiday like Christmas,Thanksgiving,Easter,and New Years Day. All the residents are most welcome to invite their families to attend the holidays with them. They have a pond outside and all the residents can go out in their wheelchairs and walkers with the help of nurses aids. Most of the residents enjoy sitting outside and have live band performances done by high school students and a local magician. All the residents are offered three meals a day with ice cream party in the afternoons in summer and hot cocoa in winter. "

"Phoebe Allentown was very nice. It also has a very good reputation for the people that stayed there, but it’s older, so it's not as pretty. They have picnics. It’s a very nice location as it’s close to a number of things in Allentown. The food was fine. They are very good in the nursing home and memory care. They were very top of the line, and they do a lot of very progressive things. "

"My mother is here. We chose it because it was a beautiful place, like a resort. It's very nice. She gets assistance with bathing. Her medication is given to her, so she doesn't have to worry about her own schedule. The staff is very helpful. I don't see everything that they do, but my mother likes it there. She doesn't get involved in them, but they have all kinds of activities. They have people come in and entertain. They have games. They have happy hour, and they have a theater. The facility is very clean and homey. They don't take any kind of Medicaid, so I'm running out of money really fast. They take people out on excursions and shopping trips. They have a mini bus to take them out like to lunch. It's good for anybody who can afford to live there."

"I toured Above All Senior Living. As soon as I walked in I felt the friendly atmosphere of the place. The place was very clean and that was one thing I was looking for since I walked in. Even the eating area was clean. I asked the other people living there how the food was. Everybody said it was excellent. So I did meet the cook and I did talk to the cook a little bit. It sounds pretty good. The rooms were big. The rooms were nice. The person who gave the tour was very polite and very nice."

"The assisted living facility that we would go to would probably be Abode Care of Allentown. What we liked most was the interaction between the staff and the residents. As we were going around, the staff member who was taking us on a tour stopped and talked to the residents. She seemed to know them all by name. One of the residents, when she heard that we were looking at places for my mother, said, 'Oh, you have to come here. It's great. It's wonderful.' So the residents like it. Along the way one of the residents was having a personal crisis, so she stopped and she took care of that issue. It was the interaction between the staff and the residents that appealed to us most. It was a little bit older than some of the other facilities that we had toured, but it was clean, and it was nicely arranged. The rooms were a nice size. The staff was very knowledgeable about the facility. She interacted well with the residents. She had a very good balance of seeing our needs and seeing to the residents' needs as we toured the facility. We saw the eating area, but we were not there during mealtime. They had shower schedules, the rooms were a nice size, and the facility was well kept up and clean. "

"i visited the memory care unit last sunday. The staff in there were working so hard helping all the residents in there. They had the residents together talking with them. the residents were smiling and laughing. i was very happy seeing my neighbor enjoying herself in there. "

"Heather Glen was a nice place and it's fairly new. The people were friendly, but I didn't think there was enough interaction between the clients there. It seemed like everybody was on their own doing their own thing. The staff was very nice. Everybody had their own private room with a window. They were very nice, good-sized, and they had private baths. They had different sized rooms. They had common areas where they played games and a nice dining area."

"Atrium of Allentown was very up-to-date and extremely stylish. It was so nice. We're like, "Wow, I would live here." The rooms were spacious. The bathrooms were like out of a hotel. They were beautiful. Price-wise, they might have been less than the others. They were right in there in the price range that we were trying to spend, which was right around $6000 a month. We did not eat their food, but we saw their food and we saw their dining room, which was set up nice, and there were stations that they could go to where they have snacks and drinks put out and stuff like that. We wanted that place so bad that they went and did a second assessment on my dad, which I thought was super nice. They said, "Let's go back again and just check again." Unfortunately, they just couldn't take care of him. They have a big room where they do activities, and it was nice. There's a big TV up there. They had courtyards they could go into. They had a common area with a TV and seating. They had a room upstairs and it almost reminded me of a banquet room. They had an elevator, and they play games and they have movie night up there. They had a lot of activities for the people. Everything was brand new and you could just tell because all the rooms had that gray flooring. You could just tell everything's very modern. Even the lady who was helping me joked, "If you're looking for glitz and glamor, Atrium is the place.""

"My mom moved to Spring Village at Pocono. They worked with me to get her place. The staff seem very compassionate and caring. The director of admissions was very helpful. They have just implemented a new system. The residents all wear pendants around their necks to call one of the CNAs if they need help with something, but the system has had some glitches in it, so they're getting that straightened out, and the other is that the food is not bad, but it's not like top of the line. They have daily activities. They have a calendar posted in the lobby of all the daily activities so that family members know what's going on. They also have it on a table where you can pick it up and I think they deliver it every morning. My mom gets a sheet delivered to her room with the activities going on that day."

"My sister moved up to Phoebe Richland Community. It was very welcoming. They gave her all the physical therapy she could handle, which was great. She had physical therapy almost every day and occupational therapy almost every day when she got there. She still gets it quite frequently. The staff is very nice. She enjoys the other residents there. She says she has a wonderful time getting to know them and they're very caring also. I was there one Saturday when the director himself was helping someone move into their memory care area. He was moving the clothing and stuff in himself on a Saturday. They're just delightful. There's an exercise class of some kind every morning, wheelchair volleyball, chair, or tai-chi. There's at least one activity every morning and one or two activities every afternoon. Every day I call or when I talk to my sister, she'll say, "Oh yes, we had an exercise this morning." It's a smaller place, so they can't offer the diversity of activities that a larger facility might offer. The assisted living has a beautiful lounge area when you walk in. The dining room is lovely. You couldn't ask for anything better. I get no complaints from my sister except there's no salt, but she can bring some herself. That's for health reasons. I saw two small library reading areas, a game room, a big lounge, and a dining room. She's in a temporary room right now because there were no rooms available, so it's a little small but very nice and furnished. It has a dresser, a wardrobe, a chair, a bed, a little kitchenette, and a beautiful bathroom that's handicapped accessible. It is less expensive than others for definitely something better. Their staff is especially caring. This place is much more consistent with their staffing, which means the staff gets to know their people better."

"I like all the windows and the nice views of the countryside. The rooms are very nice, very roomy and well appointed, easy to maneuver and get around in. The staff is very caring, always smiling and upbeat, very pleasant. "

"We visited Penn Assisted Care for mom. The appearance was good, it was clean, and everything seemed satisfactory. It seems like a nice place. We looked at a room with two beds, it looks clean and everything was adequate. The person who assisted me was very helpful and gave a good explanation of everything. We saw the dining area, it looked nice. We saw some people sitting, relaxing, watching TV."

"Bentley Commons at Paragon Village was very nice. They need to label the buildings, like one is for assisted and the other one is for independent, but we went into the wrong one first because they were not labeled properly. Colleen, the person who gave us the tour, was very good and pretty much answered all the questions that we had. They have activities for the residents ike light exercises, arts and crafts, socials, and so on."
