"Whitehall Manor is a good place with reasonable rent. The woman who was the customer rep was very good. I reached out to her yesterday for a letter from my father to get financial assistance because he had just been in the hospital. The place is very good, very affordable, and easy to get to. The staff reaches out, and they are very helpful and accommodating. They have activities. Dad could go out on the deck, they have a pond with a farm, and he could watch that or feed the fish. They have a barber and a salon. They have a physical therapy room there. In terms of value for the money, you can't find any place cheaper than this."

"I toured The Palmerton and it's assisted living, and I would consider it as a good choice with my father's continued improvement. They have a good staff-to-patient ratio. I was able to tour and look at the rooms, and their rooms are very adequate, a nice size, and updated. I was able to talk with the staff and I was introduced to each staff member that was on duty; that included the physical therapist, the dietitian, and the arts and crafts woman. They also have beautiful grounds. There is a very nice view upstairs on the second floor where you could go outside in a shaded area with rocking chairs on a cul-de-sac. It is a nice, quiet area. I think the staff said that they are able to choose two items at each meal and they have a dietitian on staff that they can work with. The dining is, I believe, on the third floor, and so they would have to get up to the third floor by elevator. They can also assist somebody to get up to the third floor if they need it. It's very nice. It's a slightly smaller facility, so I think they can spend more attention to each."

"The staff at Phoebe Home was very nice. They didn’t try to push me into getting it, that’s what a lot of them do; they left it up to me. They didn’t rush me at all and they answered any questions I had. It could have been a little better but I can’t complain because they were helpful when they can be. They’re so busy sometimes you didn’t get the attention that you really needed, but they were pretty good. I was really happy with them. The place is clean all the time. They’re always doing some sort of cleaning - mopping the floor, cleaning windows. It has a cheery environment and they’re so nice to the residents; anything they need, they help them right away. I like that about them and they listen. They have all of activities there. One day, they put them on a bus and off they went to see a movie. The residents were thrilled that they could get out of there for a while and go watch a movie. They do have bible studies too. "

"I toured Above All Senior Living. As soon as I walked in I felt the friendly atmosphere of the place. The place was very clean and that was one thing I was looking for since I walked in. Even the eating area was clean. I asked the other people living there how the food was. Everybody said it was excellent. So I did meet the cook and I did talk to the cook a little bit. It sounds pretty good. The rooms were big. The rooms were nice. The person who gave the tour was very polite and very nice."

"The assisted living facility that we would go to would probably be Abode Care of Allentown. What we liked most was the interaction between the staff and the residents. As we were going around, the staff member who was taking us on a tour stopped and talked to the residents. She seemed to know them all by name. One of the residents, when she heard that we were looking at places for my mother, said, 'Oh, you have to come here. It's great. It's wonderful.' So the residents like it. Along the way one of the residents was having a personal crisis, so she stopped and she took care of that issue. It was the interaction between the staff and the residents that appealed to us most. It was a little bit older than some of the other facilities that we had toured, but it was clean, and it was nicely arranged. The rooms were a nice size. The staff was very knowledgeable about the facility. She interacted well with the residents. She had a very good balance of seeing our needs and seeing to the residents' needs as we toured the facility. We saw the eating area, but we were not there during mealtime. They had shower schedules, the rooms were a nice size, and the facility was well kept up and clean. "

"I like Paragon Village for its price and location. The staff is very nice and very friendly. My aunt hasn’t yet complained about the food, so I guess it’s good. It’s very clean. "

"When families are compelled by circumstances to seek care and safety for their loved ones in facilities such as Heather Glen, well, we are consumed by many memories and emotions. It’s unavoidable. But Heather Glen’s staff and facilities bridge that gap between our love for our family member and our diminishing ability to provide for the care and comfort we want our loved one to have. The private rooms are spacious and always clean. The ambience in the “general areas” is inviting and comfortable. The staff responds quickly to a family’s thoughts and concerns. HG provides transportation to doctors for the residents, which is an essential need for our family member. The transitioning of our loved one’s care and safety to HG is still a difficult proposition today. HG cannot undue what nature and nature’s God has brought forth, but we are comfortable and thankful for the gentle care and constant attention this facility provides its residents."

"Our second choice for my parents would be the Atrium of Allentown. The marketing sales team was good there. They were super helpful. It's a newer facility, so the building is nice. They have a more active memory care facility. Every time we went to visit there, there was always a large group of people doing activities together. The activities there were more robust than what was going on at the other place. They had a lot of onsite services available, too. It's a large rectangle. There's a courtyard for memory care that's accessible for residents. They have a spot where they can go. The tour experience was great. They were very accommodating. It was very good. The staff who gave the tour was great, too."

"My sister moved up to Phoebe Richland Community. It was very welcoming. They gave her all the physical therapy she could handle, which was great. She had physical therapy almost every day and occupational therapy almost every day when she got there. She still gets it quite frequently. The staff is very nice. She enjoys the other residents there. She says she has a wonderful time getting to know them and they're very caring also. I was there one Saturday when the director himself was helping someone move into their memory care area. He was moving the clothing and stuff in himself on a Saturday. They're just delightful. There's an exercise class of some kind every morning, wheelchair volleyball, chair, or tai-chi. There's at least one activity every morning and one or two activities every afternoon. Every day I call or when I talk to my sister, she'll say, "Oh yes, we had an exercise this morning." It's a smaller place, so they can't offer the diversity of activities that a larger facility might offer. The assisted living has a beautiful lounge area when you walk in. The dining room is lovely. You couldn't ask for anything better. I get no complaints from my sister except there's no salt, but she can bring some herself. That's for health reasons. I saw two small library reading areas, a game room, a big lounge, and a dining room. She's in a temporary room right now because there were no rooms available, so it's a little small but very nice and furnished. It has a dresser, a wardrobe, a chair, a bed, a little kitchenette, and a beautiful bathroom that's handicapped accessible. It is less expensive than others for definitely something better. Their staff is especially caring. This place is much more consistent with their staffing, which means the staff gets to know their people better."

"My Mother was in the Memory Care Unit for over a year. Her care was exceptional. I visited with her during her lunch hour and was very pleased with the food and service. The staff was very caring and knew every patient and their specific needs. My Mother was always clean and neat and her room was also very clean. When she went into Hospice care at Heritage Hills I was able to stay with her all night. The staff took good care of me also. Provided an easy chair, food, blankets and loving care towards my Mother. "

"I called to schedule a tour and no one ever got back to me. However, I was in the area so I decided I would drop in for a tour. When I got there there was no one at all in the building. I could not find any staff. One of the residents came from upstairs and said she did not know where the staff was. The resident was very friendly however she was very disheveled looking clothes were stained her hair was all over the place. It looked like they really did not comb her hair or care for her that much. The furniture that I did see was old and faded and torn. I waited for about 10 minutes and not one time did I see a staff member. So I turned around and left."

"Walden III is wonderful, I couldn't be happier with the facility. They allowed my mother to be treated for Alzheimer's for a flat fee. I would love for them to have a locked down facility and gated as anyone could wander off but the nurses always call me, they always check in on me and report anything good or bad that happens. They have a lot of in house activities like exercise and they celebrate birthdays. I already recommended Walden III to others. "

"It was a very nice place. They were very nice when we looked around over there. A couple of residents were even willing to let visitors take a look at their rooms or their quarters and everything seemed to be very nice and clean. They did have plenty of activities for their residents. As far as our visit went, they were very acceptable especially with the way they were acting and the way people were treating us as visitors. We were impressed with this one."
