"Renaissance Home Northampton was a good place. It's more for a single person than a married couple. It's rather small for married people. The service was excellent. Most of the amenities are there. The staff members were very helpful. They were very good. The facility was very clean. The layout was nice. I like the fact that it was very close to where we are now, so some of my family could come and visit. They had a very nice lunch. They are getting nutritious food. There was no sign of it being a nursing home at all. There was no smell."

"The staff at Phoebe Home was very nice. They didn’t try to push me into getting it, that’s what a lot of them do; they left it up to me. They didn’t rush me at all and they answered any questions I had. It could have been a little better but I can’t complain because they were helpful when they can be. They’re so busy sometimes you didn’t get the attention that you really needed, but they were pretty good. I was really happy with them. The place is clean all the time. They’re always doing some sort of cleaning - mopping the floor, cleaning windows. It has a cheery environment and they’re so nice to the residents; anything they need, they help them right away. I like that about them and they listen. They have all of activities there. One day, they put them on a bus and off they went to see a movie. The residents were thrilled that they could get out of there for a while and go watch a movie. They do have bible studies too. "

"I toured Above All Senior Living. As soon as I walked in I felt the friendly atmosphere of the place. The place was very clean and that was one thing I was looking for since I walked in. Even the eating area was clean. I asked the other people living there how the food was. Everybody said it was excellent. So I did meet the cook and I did talk to the cook a little bit. It sounds pretty good. The rooms were big. The rooms were nice. The person who gave the tour was very polite and very nice."

"The assisted living facility that we would go to would probably be Abode Care of Allentown. What we liked most was the interaction between the staff and the residents. As we were going around, the staff member who was taking us on a tour stopped and talked to the residents. She seemed to know them all by name. One of the residents, when she heard that we were looking at places for my mother, said, 'Oh, you have to come here. It's great. It's wonderful.' So the residents like it. Along the way one of the residents was having a personal crisis, so she stopped and she took care of that issue. It was the interaction between the staff and the residents that appealed to us most. It was a little bit older than some of the other facilities that we had toured, but it was clean, and it was nicely arranged. The rooms were a nice size. The staff was very knowledgeable about the facility. She interacted well with the residents. She had a very good balance of seeing our needs and seeing to the residents' needs as we toured the facility. We saw the eating area, but we were not there during mealtime. They had shower schedules, the rooms were a nice size, and the facility was well kept up and clean. "

"Atrium of Allentown was the newest facility we saw. It wasn't quite full. It was bright and shiny. Everything was clean. They had a very nice, enclosed courtyard. They seemed to have a very good schedule for the residents. They had facilities, doctors that were on call, hairdressers, and things like that. The thing that impressed us most was the newness. Also, the staff that took us around knew the facility."

"When families are compelled by circumstances to seek care and safety for their loved ones in facilities such as Heather Glen, well, we are consumed by many memories and emotions. It’s unavoidable. But Heather Glen’s staff and facilities bridge that gap between our love for our family member and our diminishing ability to provide for the care and comfort we want our loved one to have. The private rooms are spacious and always clean. The ambience in the “general areas” is inviting and comfortable. The staff responds quickly to a family’s thoughts and concerns. HG provides transportation to doctors for the residents, which is an essential need for our family member. The transitioning of our loved one’s care and safety to HG is still a difficult proposition today. HG cannot undue what nature and nature’s God has brought forth, but we are comfortable and thankful for the gentle care and constant attention this facility provides its residents."

"My sister moved up to Phoebe Richland Community. It was very welcoming. They gave her all the physical therapy she could handle, which was great. She had physical therapy almost every day and occupational therapy almost every day when she got there. She still gets it quite frequently. The staff is very nice. She enjoys the other residents there. She says she has a wonderful time getting to know them and they're very caring also. I was there one Saturday when the director himself was helping someone move into their memory care area. He was moving the clothing and stuff in himself on a Saturday. They're just delightful. There's an exercise class of some kind every morning, wheelchair volleyball, chair, or tai-chi. There's at least one activity every morning and one or two activities every afternoon. Every day I call or when I talk to my sister, she'll say, "Oh yes, we had an exercise this morning." It's a smaller place, so they can't offer the diversity of activities that a larger facility might offer. The assisted living has a beautiful lounge area when you walk in. The dining room is lovely. You couldn't ask for anything better. I get no complaints from my sister except there's no salt, but she can bring some herself. That's for health reasons. I saw two small library reading areas, a game room, a big lounge, and a dining room. She's in a temporary room right now because there were no rooms available, so it's a little small but very nice and furnished. It has a dresser, a wardrobe, a chair, a bed, a little kitchenette, and a beautiful bathroom that's handicapped accessible. It is less expensive than others for definitely something better. Their staff is especially caring. This place is much more consistent with their staffing, which means the staff gets to know their people better."

"My mom was in here and I thought it was very nice and well kept, and smaller and more intimate with only three floors. The dining room was really pretty. The food was really good. "

"The Palmerton is a lot smaller than another place we went. There are very few memory care patients compared to the other one. So it's not as big an area for the memory care residents, but it's still very nice. It's very clean. When we were there, there were not a lot of people in and around there. We did get to look at the rooms. The rooms seemed a little bit bigger, and the bathrooms did have bathtubs or showers. The amenities were nice. They have a salon, they also have physical and occupational, and speech therapy. Their outside area was not as large for the memory care residents. However, it was secure, so no one could walk off. The residents were included in any of the outings that the other residents would go on in assisted living. The staff is very nice, we met with the person who gave us the tour, and we met a few of the nurses that were in the memory care unit. I think a lot of the residents were at a religious service, so there weren't a lot of people down there. The staff was sitting with one or two of the residents that were in the common area, but they seemed very nice. We met them and we met the chef. She was very nice. They were a little more willing to work with us financially if we needed to."

"We visited a year ago, so everything was under COVID regulations. We only got to visit the rooms and dining room, but no one was being taken out to the dining room or going in activities because of COVID. The place was beautiful and very clean. The rooms were lovely. The staff members were very friendly. Overall, it seemed to be a very comfortable environment. The girl who gave us the tour was very helpful. She followed up with me occasionally to see if we were interested in any of the accommodations for my mother."

"I could not have chosen a better place for my husband. Everything was always clean, the nurses and staff always caring and friendly, and all the residents seemed happy. I am very thankful that I chose Cornerstone and highly recommend."

"Penn Assisted Care was nice, the people there were very nice, and it was very clean. It was small, a little cramped, but it seemed like a family. It's very homey. They have a porch, they hang out there, and they go to the movies. "

"My mother is in Spring Village at Pocono. All the people there were nice. The place itself was clean. There's a lot of activities and they made my mother feel comfortable. The room was the size she needed and it was within our price range. It's a medium-sized room, and she's by herself. It doesn't have a kitchen (just a bathroom). They have crafts, bingo, board games, they have an area with books, a game room with a large TV, a pool table, and individual tables for whatever they want to do, like play cards and do puzzles. There's a gazebo outside and there are paths around the place, so if they want to walk around they can. So far, my mother likes the food a lot."

"I visited Paradise Manor. They were very accommodating and very knowledgeable. The place was clean. It seemed to have everything there that was needed, and it's close to where I live. I believe it's like $1,500 a month. I didn't see many activities. I basically just saw the amenities. It's more of a studio-type environment."
