My sister is staying at the Moravian King's Daughters Home. It's a very small assisted living facility that only has a dozen or so residents. I like the fact that she's in a small enough facility that the people know each other. There's a sense of family, almost, because it is such a small, self-contained community. The downside is the same thing, I think. They are small, so there are options that just aren't available. Things like any kind of transportation to doctor's appointments, they don't do it, so you have to come up with some other way to get them transportation. I have not tried their food, but my sister is okay with it. They do daily exercise in the morning, and I think most of the residents participate in that. The facility is very clean. The house itself is obviously antique, and a lot of the furnishings are antique, but they're beautiful and very well kept. It's very different from a large facility, which is more like a hospital. This has more character and more feeling of being a home. Given the size of the facility being as small as it is, the staff also gives it reliability.
