"We have our name on a wait list at Chestnut Ridge at Rodale. We were welcomed. It was nice that we ran into people that we already knew. They have a lovely pool. One of the biggest positives about Chestnut Ridge is that everything is in one building. You don't have to go outside to eat or anything like that. There are many outdoor activities, like walking paths. You can walk into town on a nice path. They have gardens. We're not going to go into anything less than 1200 square feet, so they were all around 1400 square feet. It has an open concept, and nearly every room has a balcony. No problem with parking. If you want to be undercover, you'd have to pay extra for that. We did eat lunch there, and that was great. It's a fairly new facility. Compared to some of the others who have really established procedures and all that, Chestnut Ridge came across like a new facility, with people kind of learning their jobs and that kind of thing."

"The Palmerton was very organized. We had to sign in upon arrival, and we had to log our temperature. We had to wear masks and there was a questionnaire about COVID. The facilities were spotless. Everything was absolutely immaculate. They had different sized rooms. The smaller rooms seemed a little cramped. The larger rooms were decent sized, but they're immaculate. They had walk-in showers and grab rails. In terms of interactions, we were very impressed. The gentleman who took us on the tour, as we walked around, was talking with everyone. Everyone knew him, and he knew the residents by name. There were residents out and about and actively engaged in activities. There seemed to be a sense of life there, which we were happy to see. The people who worked in different departments took time out of what they were doing to talk to us. My mother-in-law needs a pureed diet and the staff spoke to us about it. She explained that it would not be a problem. She answered our questions. We spoke to the speech therapist, their activities director, and the physical therapist. They all took time out of what they were doing to talk to us, asked questions, and answered any questions we had. They're very accommodating. We were very impressed."

"I had an in-person tour of Arbour Square of Harleysville. Everything looks new, bright, and light. The facility was very nice and clean. The staff went over everything and was very enthusiastic. They showed me the eating areas."

"Walnut Woods was really nice and clean. The people were pleasant and there were activities for adults. The dining room was nice, and the food tasted and looked good. "

"I visited Paradise Manor. They were very accommodating and very knowledgeable. The place was clean. It seemed to have everything there that was needed, and it's close to where I live. I believe it's like $1,500 a month. I didn't see many activities. I basically just saw the amenities. It's more of a studio-type environment."

"I’ve been in the Heritage Towers for six years now. The cleanliness is average. The maintenance is very good. The working people are pretty young, but they give good service. They have a studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom apartments. They have a full size bathroom and a kitchen. The room is pretty big and spacious. The food used to be better. We have a menu and you can pick from 5 or 6 different dishes. The dining facility is like a big restaurant that can sit from 2 to 6 people in a table. They have dance classes and exercises. "

"The Traditions of Lansdale was nice and the tour was really good. The people that went for the tours with me were very friendly. It came down to the room being too small, so it was not for my parents. But, if people are looking for assisted living, it would be a great place. If a family was looking for assisted living, that room would probably be perfect for them. They did have outside spaces. The upkeep was nice, it was taken care of and fairly new. I don't think they have room for appliances. The room is just basically a bathroom attached to a bedroom."

"So my uncle had to be placed in senior living after we just couldn't take care of him at our house. The admissions staff made the transition so easy. My uncle has made many friends here at Maple Shade and looks forward to all the activities. The staff is so genuine. I couldn't have chosen a better path for my dear uncle."

"Hudson Estates Gracious Retirement Living was nice. I got literature and stuff. They only have like one- and two-bedroom. They said that once they get it cleaned up, that place will go. All of the amenities and all of the offerings that they have sound and look great. We got to speak to one of the people that lived there, and they said it was a wonderful place to be. I think it would be good for my father to be amongst the people with all the activities that they offer. It was a couple who assisted me and they were very great in answering questions and asking me if I had additional questions, which I didn't at the time. They gave me a nice packet to take and they also offered, since my dad did not go with me, us to come back and have lunch with them so we could taste the food because she swears by their meal plan. They did give me a giveaway, and it had a mug and a muffin. They had a garden and a wonderful dining room. They had several laundry facilities on each floor. They have a fitness center, a movie theater, and games places. They have a conference room type thing that they offer to the people that live there. They can have up to ten people have dinner in there and they serve you."

"I visited St. Mary Center. The few staff that I saw were great and they were interacting with the residents. The lady I talked to knew the people by names which is nice, when she talked to them and went by. Even though she's not hands on, she still made the effort to know them by name, which I think was very nice. She gave me a quick tour of an interior room. It was empty, but it was neat, well-placed, nothing looks bad, looked better than my room, my bedroom. Everything looked very clean well-kept. They had a barbershop I believe, a cafeteria, and they did have an outdoor sitting area. People could go out and sit out there, it was all secure. They couldn't just get up and wander off into the road, or anything like that. And they did have a lot of stuff scheduled, there was a gardening to help out with, and they had different little sectional area. It wasn't just 1 giant rec room. They have 1 large room, but they had a smaller one around. So, they did have multiple things going on. I liked the way it was laid out. It was pretty much like a giant square, they do have people who like to wander, and they can actually just kind of look around the halls, they didn't really have to worry about them getting in trouble, wandering off anywhere because it's pretty much centrally located."

"I have been to Keystone many times since my parents are now living there. The rooms, building and grounds are immaculate. I've had relatives visit that have worked at other facilities and marvel at how nice it is. The food is superb! Always several choices and the wait staff is wonderful as well. The staff are wonderful, from the front desk to the rest of the staff. I have not had a negative experience with any. They show true care and concern."

"I visited Kirkland Village. It was beautiful, but I felt that their rooms were really small and claustrophobic. There were windows only on one side. The hallways felt like a hospital. The staff was wonderful. They have all kinds of activities. The residents were very happy there, but it just wasn't for me. "

"Moravian Village looks favorable. They have a lovely dining room, and I think they have an exercise room, places to meet, a library, gardening area, and the cottages. I know a lot of people that lived here, and they were all very happy. I didn’t hear anyone that was unhappy. "
