"We chose The Terrace at Phoebe Allentown from recommendations, and we've been there multiple times. The staff members are great, we've had positive experiences with everybody we met there. The room is great, magnificent, brand-new, and lovely. Two of my friend's moms were there, and they had all good things to say about it. I think it is the right size, I think that the apartments are really nice, and hopefully the food is good, and the activities will be fun for her."

"My mother was at Asbury Grace Park. I thought the care that she got there was excellent. We had a very nice relationship with the ladies there. I think they took very good care of her. My mother had a cute apartment with her own bathroom. Nothing special. It was a fairly small room, but it was adequate. They had music that my mother took advantage of. She did some bingo, too. However, she was in a lot of pain for a long time, and they gave her tramadol once every six hours, so she spent most of her time sleeping. However, they did their best to get her out and about. The food was good, too."

"Gluco Lodge Personal Care Home was very receptive. I went up, someone was there to greet me, and I liked the place. It seemed to be very clean. There seemed to be a lot of people around taking care of the residents. John did the tour for us and was very nice and gave me a lot of information. They were very helpful in letting me know what information I needed to get to them. Then he came and visited my mother and assessed her and was very quick to let me know that she was accepted there. Their rates were very reasonable. It was just a matter of it being too far."

"I called to schedule a tour and no one ever got back to me. However, I was in the area so I decided I would drop in for a tour. When I got there there was no one at all in the building. I could not find any staff. One of the residents came from upstairs and said she did not know where the staff was. The resident was very friendly however she was very disheveled looking clothes were stained her hair was all over the place. It looked like they really did not comb her hair or care for her that much. The furniture that I did see was old and faded and torn. I waited for about 10 minutes and not one time did I see a staff member. So I turned around and left."

"My mother likes Mrs Bush's Personal Care Home the most. If she doesn't qualify for independent living, then she'll go into assisted living there. It was a very nice setting. Some of the people who work there had their dogs there. There were two dogs there, and my mom loves pets. We knew someone from our church who actually was up there, so we got to visit with her for a little bit. We went through the whole complex and saw the assisted living, which my mother likes. She even picked out her room. However, she didn't want to pay the extra expenses when she didn't need them because she can do everything herself. The place was nice. While we were there they were doing a country western night or something like that. It was homey. People who were living there and people who were working there were like, "Hi, how are you doing? Can I get you a beverage? Over there is a station where you can have coffee, tea, and water." So it felt very welcoming, and I think that was what really appealed to my mother too."

"Heritage Village offers single and double cottages as well as high-rise apartment buildings. The facilities were very nice and the units were large. The staff was very knowledgeable about their retirement community. They went over the financial costs and everything about the place. Their amenities were excellent. They had all the activities for the residents."

"When we went to Oliver C Border House, we were met by the manager and the assistant manager. They took us through the entire facility. They were very helpful and very kind. The apartment was nice. I would recommend it. There was parking close by, and the team that was working there was awesome. I liked that a senior center is attached to the building and that you can have small animals. The building was secure. Your guests call you and then you have to buzz them in. There was an elevator and a rec room. The only thing I didn't particularly care for was that they had a community washer and dryer."

"My mom has been in Connections, the memory care unit, for almost a year now. Her every need is met with care and compassion. Every day is filled with an extensive schedule of fun activities to do. The activities are too numerous to list but include singing, playing bingo, arts and crafts, trivia, going for rides into the country and enjoying entertainment from guest musicians. My moms days are filled with engaging people and activities. The staff personnel from Country Meadows are exceptional, from being greeted in the lobby with a smile, to the nurses, to the wonderful aides. The staff that also does a great job--the cooks and housekeeping--make Country Meadows of Forks a well run and pleasant community to be a part of. I am totally satisfied with every aspect that Country Meadows has to offer and would highly recommend this community to others!"

Beautiful home in a quiet, tree-lined, street, with all residential amenities: two large room suite, full bath, laundry, living/dining room, two porches, grill, basement storage... Personal assistance services include: Nutritious meals/ snacks/ drinks, verification of medical compliance, cleaning, laundry, driving to medical appointments, shopping, ice cream, library, Delaware River events, many local parks with fresh water activities, driving distance to beach, mountains, New York City entertainment/dining... Companion assistance: One dog and one cat to provide daytime companions, then house manager's grandchildren visit for quintessential 3-year-old entertainment, distant family are constant visitors, friends/neighbors pop in for tea... there will always be someone around... and if it gets too much the client can always squirrel away in her 2-room suite (entire 3rd floor of said house)!

"We visited the Traditions of America at Green Pond and we had a similar experience with its sister community that we also toured. They had the same kinds of facilities. Its environment in the city is important to us. I think that we shouldn't be paying more than $6000 for a 3-bedroom house, and that includes all premiums and all upgrades. They had a swimming pool, yoga room, gym, meeting rooms, and so forth. They also had a clubhouse."

"Country Meadows Retirement is very clean, very neat, and people are caring. I'm happy with the place. It's a little high in price. The staff is good. They're very friendly and helpful, and I can call them any time. My mother has been here for about 2 years. Their food is sufficient; I thought it was fine. They have activities, but she's not into activities. Their layout is good. The place is very clean and neat. In terms of value for the money, I think they're a little high. It's very, very good for what is there."

"I toured Colonial Manor At Panther Valley. They have cottages. The one that I visited was undergoing renovation. I was told that whenever someone passes away or decides to move out, they redo the interior of the whole cottage. And this particular cottage was getting a new washer-dryer combination, a new sink, a new stove, and a new refrigerator. The bedroom is very large. It has decent two closets. The front living room is also large. It looks out to the pond behind the cottage. There's nothing old in that particular cottage. The carpeting looks to be brand new. The staff who gave the tour was very good. She was not the person that I had agreed to meet at 1:00, and so this other woman took me around. We had nice conversations. It was just very pleasant. The grounds were very nice. Everything seemed neat and clean. I talked with the woman that was sitting there in the lobby and she seemed very relaxed and very pleasant. It was an enjoyable visit. It was worthwhile that I got a chance to look at it."

"My mother was at Kirkland Village, but it does not take Medicaid. She was there for physical therapy and rehab. The staff was very nice. They took care of her very sweetly. They helped whenever they could with whatever was needed. At that point, I didn't know that I was going to end up having a permanent place for her. It was just for rehab. But as far as rehab, they were very good. She went every day. They have a really nice library there. I know there were events that they did. The kids did come through over the holidays. They would sing and do shows. The family members could come in to eat and things like that. They have a lot of activities, but being it was only temporary, she didn't really do that much. It was extremely clean also. "
