"Visiting Angels is not nursing care; it’s taking them to the doctor, it’s cooking, and it’s taking them shopping. They don’t do any nursing care. That’s been very good. Probably the biggest thing we found out is difficult is because there are so many, they have to come in every seven or eight hours and have turnover all the time. Sometimes the communication that needs to go from one person especially early on, because we have had them now for almost a year. We get lost, so we had to work on communication, getting the log, writing everything that we need between the director of the agency and the primary care person and caregiver that may had to have lots of meetings and lots of discussion because probably the first four or five months; it was extremely frustrating. The thing that I have to say it was never regarding the care. They were always on top of their game if they saw something wrong, and they took them to the emergency room if they felt that they needed to go. They never knew what was going on; it’s the administrator then that took a long time to trust and get it to work. We did have some caregivers that we are not happy with, and it went on and they were not pulling their own so to speak; they dismissed them from my parents when they were trying someone else. They were very good about hearing what we needed. One of the things I think it is one of the biggest challenges for them and for us it’s because we are doing all this care long distance. We can’t be there every week or every month, and the factor is neither one of my parents are aware enough to take care of any of their matters, financially. They need a lot of care, so if we had parents who are more well, Visiting Angels would have gone more smoothly early on, but for right now, we told them we are going to keep them as long as we can because that’s my parents wishes. It’s much more expensive than taking them out of the house, but it’s very wise. "

"My mom is using Caring Senior Service. I have them 24/7. They make light meals, heat up meals, light housekeeping, help her to the bathroom, help her dress, and help her shower. All the things that caregivers do. Most of the caregivers are good. We've had some issues with caregiving. They call off, they quit. So it's been challenging with them but the company themselves, they keep trying to get us good people and they're good people to work with. The majority of the caregivers when they show up are good. Management tries very hard to schedule, but it doesn't always work out. The billing is fine, it's normal billing."
