The 10 Best Home Care Agencies for Seniors in Carbon County, PA for 2025

It was 1965 when we were inspired by the touching story of a young girl named Anna who was unable to attend a local theater showing of Mary Poppins with the other children...because she was in a wheelchair. From this inspiration was born United Cerebral Palsy of Lancaster County. In 2000, we became United Disabilities Services (UDS) - a new name to reflect our greatly expanded capabilities. Our big hearts and unwavering commitment haven't gone unnoticed Recognized as one of the leading human services providers in Pennsylvania, we take our commitment to improving people's lives very seriously - continually creating new and better ways to make a difference; balancing our mission focus with our business focus, so we can help more people with more services. Thanks to the innovative spirit of our employees, UDS was recognized by the Central Penn Business Journal as one of the region's most innovative nonprofit organizations. Most recently, UDS received the Samaritan Counseling Center's annual "Ethics in Business Award." Additionally, the UDS Foundation personal care division, Independent Living Services, is a certified medical assistance provider licensed by the State of Pennsylvania, and UDS Accessible Home Modifications is an accepted builder in the Department of Veterans Affairs Home Loan Guaranty Program.

"I got Comfort Keepers for my wife, and we're fine with what’s needed for the moment. We've had them for a short time in the spring and we're back again for a month and a half. Right now, we're doing four hours, three days a week. The caregiver does a little bit of everything. She helps my wife with showers and getting dressed. She also does light household chores."

"Royal Home Care Services, Inc is very responsive, and the caregivers' attitudes are very positive, accommodating, and well trained. They help my mom with bathing and general house cleaning in her room. We've had good experience with them."

"My mom is using Caring Senior Service. I have them 24/7. They make light meals, heat up meals, light housekeeping, help her to the bathroom, help her dress, and help her shower. All the things that caregivers do. Most of the caregivers are good. We've had some issues with caregiving. They call off, they quit. So it's been challenging with them but the company themselves, they keep trying to get us good people and they're good people to work with. The majority of the caregivers when they show up are good. Management tries very hard to schedule, but it doesn't always work out. The billing is fine, it's normal billing."

"NFTJ Home Care has great caring staff members who take care of my mom. They are always punctual. Great client service! Very professional... the owner always calls to get feedback of the service and ask how they can make it better. Awesome place to get your service. You won’t regret it."

"We got Independent Life Home Care & Concierge Solutions for my brother-in-law. They're okay, we've been using them a few years. Before he was only allowed two hours a day, so they would come in and make his supper, maybe do some light housekeeping. But now that he needs more care, they gave him ten hours a day, seven days a week. The caregivers are good, I don't have any problems with them, it's just the agency doesn't have many caregivers, and they're short-staffed a lot."

"Just joined the agency after trying other ones in the area. I have been living by myself for years and wanted someone to help me and keep me company to free time up for my family members. I love it so far and my needs are really met. "

"Everyone has been very thorough and responsive to our needs. Every person we've had in our house for care has been top notch and extremely responsible and conscientious on how they work with my husband. I feel very comfortable having them with us and enjoy their help. Thank you!"

"The caregivers are friendly and compassionate I recommend this agency to anyone in the valley"

"My mother has dementia and lives alone in a condominium. As typical of a person with dementia, she has difficulty eating and often either forgets to eat or doesn't eat enough. I wanted some support for her through the use of a home health aide a few days a week, primarily to monitor her meals and provide companionship. I interviewed multiple agencies and Orange Caregivers really stood out. I am an RN and I wanted someone with compassion and patience because my mother is difficult at times. And I am not disappointed. She has received wonderful care that is full of warmth and I plan to continue our contract with Orange Caregivers. The agency has always answered my requests and questions. Anna, the aide assigned to my mother is always on time and ready to assist my mom. I have reviewed her daily notes and she is doing an excellent job. I highly recommend this agency. "

"Comforting Home Care by Phoebe Lehigh Valley was very good. They were home care aides. We used the home care for a while for one or two days a week while my mom was in rehab for a few weeks. My mom lived with me and they just aided me and sort of gave me a little break when I had to go out and things that I had to do, but I was with her 24/7. In my case, their service was basically like companionship because I did all her bills, I clean the house, and I shop. I pretty much cared for her, but in this case, it was just companionship. I chose them because they were local and had an opening, which was very hard to find at the time, and they had people that were available to come. I was happy with the woman that they sent. We got to know her pretty well and she became like a friend. Unfortunately, my mom just got too weak, and we had to put her into senior living. We were only with them for a couple of months. Their billing and scheduling were very good. I had no problem. They accommodated anything I needed. We only did Tuesdays. We were just starting with Tuesday and Thursday, and then that was it, so we never really got any further than four hours a week. They were very on the ball. They answered all my questions. Billing was never a problem. There was always someone there to pick up the phone and answer my questions."

"I have used Nest In Place infrequently because it's out-of-pocket pay, but they're excellent. I would have them the entire time, but I can't afford them. They're wonderful. They're so good. They show up all the time. If somebody can't be here, they replace that nurse. I can't even say enough about them, that's how good they are. I just wish I could afford them full-time, but I can't. They're for my mom. The services they provide are care, changing, food, and companionship, they do it all. I have used them for three years, and I'm still using them, but in a very minimal amount of time. The caregivers are very professional and very caring. They're very accommodating."
