Assisted Living Communities in Kunkletown, PA

"We moved into Riverton Enhanced Senior Living. My husband needs assisted living, but I'm independent. I wanted to be in an apartment together, and that's what they offered us here. The girl, April, is so nice. It's been such a wonderful experience moving here. When we were touring it, the apartments seemed so appropriate for two people to live together. There's not a lot of room, and they take care of everything for us. They do the cleaning and cooking. I haven't had to do much at all. They serve three meals a day, and they give you plenty of food. If you don't want much, you tell them you want a small appetite, and they give you less. But if you still want more, all you have to do is ask. My husband gets three meals a day, but I'm independent living, so I only get one meal a day. But I'm allowed to eat all three meals. I just have to pay for the first two, and I don't mind doing that because I like having my meals with my husband, so we enjoy that. The staff members are wonderful. They're always asking what they can do for us and if we need anything. They're very, very friendly, and they take the time to talk to you when you want to talk. They don't just brush you off. They're just great. The food is delicious. Some of the things we don't like, but they all taste very good and are well prepared. They keep everything nice. They have an exercise class and a coffee talk. They have something going on every single day."

"My mother-in-law is a resident here. The office staff and wellness staff (in particular the woman on day shift at the front desk) are excellent and know me/us and who I am related to---they are very helpful, accomodating and caring and really work with us to provide the best possible care for her. The aides do a good job of personally caring for her too. "

"I'm leaning towards Phoebe Allentown. They were very, very nice, I filled up all the applications, gave them the documents they wanted. The apartments were much smaller than what I have here. They have transportation, one meal a day, socialization and activities, and in their continuing care they have assisted living down the street and nursing home. It was clean and it is maintained, there's no problem there. The staff was very wonderful."

"My aunt, who resides here, absolutely adores the variety of activities available, making her time at Spring Village truly enjoyable. It's a terrific place for seniors seeking a nurturing and engaging community."

"Our mom has been a resident of Heather Glen since May 2017. We believe that we selected the best possible place for her. She has made some wonderful friends since moving there. The staff has also been wonderful. She receives hugs and smiles from them all day long. Since the building is broken up into small ares, it's very quiet which also makes it feel more personable. Meal time is great in that you have your choice of seating and a 2 hour time frame for each meal. I highly recommend checking it out for your loved ones."

"My mother is here. The staff are very caring with their patients. They make sure that they are taking care of the residents. It’s a nice and cozy facility with a fireplace with chairs. The place is also very clean. The food is all right. "

"Our second choice for my parents would be the Atrium of Allentown. The marketing sales team was good there. They were super helpful. It's a newer facility, so the building is nice. They have a more active memory care facility. Every time we went to visit there, there was always a large group of people doing activities together. The activities there were more robust than what was going on at the other place. They had a lot of onsite services available, too. It's a large rectangle. There's a courtyard for memory care that's accessible for residents. They have a spot where they can go. The tour experience was great. They were very accommodating. It was very good. The staff who gave the tour was great, too."

"Cornerstone Living is clean. The rooms are very nice and very individualized. The staff is very friendly, very professional, and very helpful."

"My mother is here. We chose it because it was a beautiful place, like a resort. It's very nice. She gets assistance with bathing. Her medication is given to her, so she doesn't have to worry about her own schedule. The staff is very helpful. I don't see everything that they do, but my mother likes it there. She doesn't get involved in them, but they have all kinds of activities. They have people come in and entertain. They have games. They have happy hour, and they have a theater. The facility is very clean and homey. They don't take any kind of Medicaid, so I'm running out of money really fast. They take people out on excursions and shopping trips. They have a mini bus to take them out like to lunch. It's good for anybody who can afford to live there."

"My mom is in here. We choose it because it the one that we think is the best. It is clean. She has a private room and it is beautiful. It is very spacious and we manage to bring in everything that we want. She has a little kitchenette with a sink, a microwave and a refrigerator. She has her own bathroom. It is very clean and is always kept that way. The people are wonderful. The staff is very profession, courteous and friendly. I have dinner several times with my mom and the food is delicious. They have many activities and she enjoys all of them. They have exercise every day, crafts, bingo and cards. They have bocce, which she plays and several others. The thing that impresses me the most is the attention from the people. Whenever I am there with my mom, there is always somebody looking and asking "Is she all right?" or "Does she needs anything?" They are very prompt with her medication. They are very attentive to her and for me that is the most important of all. My mom loves it there. She's pretty happy and we are very happy. "

"My sister moved up to Phoebe Richland Community. It was very welcoming. They gave her all the physical therapy she could handle, which was great. She had physical therapy almost every day and occupational therapy almost every day when she got there. She still gets it quite frequently. The staff is very nice. She enjoys the other residents there. She says she has a wonderful time getting to know them and they're very caring also. I was there one Saturday when the director himself was helping someone move into their memory care area. He was moving the clothing and stuff in himself on a Saturday. They're just delightful. There's an exercise class of some kind every morning, wheelchair volleyball, chair, or tai-chi. There's at least one activity every morning and one or two activities every afternoon. Every day I call or when I talk to my sister, she'll say, "Oh yes, we had an exercise this morning." It's a smaller place, so they can't offer the diversity of activities that a larger facility might offer. The assisted living has a beautiful lounge area when you walk in. The dining room is lovely. You couldn't ask for anything better. I get no complaints from my sister except there's no salt, but she can bring some herself. That's for health reasons. I saw two small library reading areas, a game room, a big lounge, and a dining room. She's in a temporary room right now because there were no rooms available, so it's a little small but very nice and furnished. It has a dresser, a wardrobe, a chair, a bed, a little kitchenette, and a beautiful bathroom that's handicapped accessible. It is less expensive than others for definitely something better. Their staff is especially caring. This place is much more consistent with their staffing, which means the staff gets to know their people better."

"We toured The Corrigan House. We drove all the way over there like a two-hour drive, and if it hadn't been so far, that would have been the place that we would have chosen because it was nice. They have separate buildings for different levels. The guy who took us around was very knowledgeable and very nice. They were excellent in the way they treated their patients."

"I like Mrs Bush's Personal Care Home. We spent about 2 hours there walking around. They were having a musician playing and singing for the residents. I like very much what I saw. They take the residents shopping once in a while, and sometimes they go out to a restaurant. We like them an awful lot."
