"I recently signed on the dotted line and filled out my check after visiting The Quadrangle in Haverford. I cannot imagine a lovelier, more intellectually stimulating place to spend my remaining years. I am seventy-two-years old and I don't know if I will be living here next year or in ten years from now. I simply know that I was given peace of mind by the knowledgeable and compassionate staff. I look forward to my children and seven grandchildren visiting me here and enjoying the outstanding food and amenities. "

"Brittany Manor didn't provide respite care services. Going in there, it was more for people who are mentally challenged. Before I went in, there was a resident already asking me for money while I was sitting in my car, and then when I went in, there was another resident who was asking me for money, and food, and whatever I had in my hand. The person who walked me around was a five. My experience trying to confirm that I had a tour was a one or a zero. I called to confirm, and no one seemed to be able to confirm with me that they were aware that I was coming. They said they would get back to me, and no one ever got back to me, so I just wound up showing up, and the person who gave me the tour was very friendly. However, she wasn't necessarily prepared to provide a tour. The place was very disheveled. Whoever owned the place before, that signage was still up there. The facility smelled as soon as I got in the door. The staff pretty much mentioned this is for people who have mental disabilities. The room I saw wasn't dirty. It's just that everything looked old. Everything didn't look like it was maintained properly. That's not a place I would recommend for anybody. It didn't seem like the patients were even well taken care of. The people that I talked to on the phone were not professional in my book, and telling me that you're going to get back to me, and then you still don't get back, that was very concerning."

"Sunrise of Haverford was fine, lovely, warm, and caring. The caregivers knew everybody's names and were accessible. It was small and smelled fresh, not medicinal. The dining area looked spacious and had a room for parties if someone had a group of people over. I liked that everybody was so friendly to the people living there. "

"Lovely facility....We arrived not having an appointment, & Billy gave us a tour we loved the apartments they were bright & large. We thought the dining rooms were lovely as well as the cute diner took us back to the 60's...We are going to return for lunch. Hoping to check out the activity calendar."

"Symphony Square was a nice place. Lani was excellent and knew her stuff. The residents were doing baking and crafts projects while I was there. The dining area was beautiful, but I did not taste the food. The place was beautiful and brand new. They would only allow a maximum of 12 residents for the memory care unit which was a very nice thing."

"Atria Center City is excellent, the rooms were absolutely gorgeous, and if I had the money, I would move there in a jiffy. The monthly rent is too high. It looked like they had a pretty full social agenda there. The dining area and the food are excellent, and I loved the location. If you're a cultural and social person it's an excellent place to be."

"I toured Fountain View at Logan Square. The community was beautiful. My brother loved it. We loved the atmosphere, the restaurants, the library, the entrance, and how well they treated us when we came there. Even the guy that gave us the tour guide was wonderful. The nurse who came and did his assessment was very pleasant and very kind. However, we were not able to afford it. I thought that we would be able to get the room because I was going to financially help him. However, the money had to be in his account, so he was denied because he didn't have enough income coming in. The staff was wonderful with the tour, but when he set us up for the medical doctor, he gave the impression that my brother could get the studio because it was cheaper, and then by the time we came back, he told me the studio was $4,600. The upkeep was very nice, except they were still under construction, so it was a little messy. However, the rooms I saw that were already ready were very nice."

"My mom is in here since September and it's been great! For my mom's level, it is a perfect place for her. It is not overwhelming not like those huge complexes. The staff is very caring and nice. They know everybody by name and they are very attentive. Her apartment is very nice. She has a living area, a bedroom, a nice size bathroom and she's very comfortable there. It is really cozy and she really likes it a lot. She said the food is good. There is a lot for her to do. She likes doing crafts like making jewelry, she does painting, she plays bingo, bowling and participates in music. Singers like Frank Sinatra come in. She is socializing more and they do a good job in trying to involve the family too. They have brunches for the family to come out and visit. My mom has also been in a couple of dinners where they take them out to dinners. Overall, we are very happy with them."

"Daylesford Crossing seemed new and clean. The rooms were nice. They had an activity room and a library. The dining area was very nice and looked like a restaurant. I did not have a meal, but they showed us the menu, and there was a lot of variety. The staff was very nice."

As a personal care home, The Roxborough Home for Women operates 24/7, providing private rooms, meals, laundry services, and light housekeeping for its residents. "After 4 months of in-home care for our Mom, we decided to look at some assisted living facilities in our area. Although very nice, the ones we visited seemed a little overwhelming to Mom. A friend told us about a newly renovated facility in Arden that had just re-opened. We decided to check it out. Thus began our love affair with Ivy Gables, a beautifully appointed 24 room senior living facility nestled in the community of Ardentown which just happens to be 5 minutes from our home. We particularly liked that it was a small facility, knowing that it would be more comforting to Mom. Of course, what’s a beautiful facility without warm and friendly people to bring it to life!! The staff at Ivy Gables outshines all of its beautiful appointments! They are top notch, professional folks who welcomed us and have went the extra mile to make our Mom (and us) feel at home! Knowing that our Mom is safe and in the hands of such kind and loving folks, has given us such peace of mind!” "

"I liked it and the people were really nice. I was looking for a place that had facilities for extracurricular stuff, and this place was good. I also liked the idea that you could have a congregated meal or you could just stir up a little something in your room for breakfast or a snack. The apartment seemed nice. It was spacious enough, and I could visualize my furniture and stuff in there. There were other things that I would look forward to. I had to go to an orientation, and there was good sunlight coming in. One problem I had was I wanted to be near my daughter and granddaughter so they could visit, but it was a little too far for that. I kind of would have sacrificed that because it otherwise met all of my requirements, and I would have been glad to move in there. "

"I am a musician who enterains at this facility. I have found the caregivers to be consciounce and caring to the residents. They truly care about them. The facility is clean and pleasant. I am impressed with the way the staff is truly concerned about the residents' welfare. I would recommend this facility for a loved one. "
