"I recently became a guardian for a friend. Due to memory issues he is not able to live on his own any longer. I toured a few facilities and decided on Sunrise because when visiting the memory care side of the facility, the residents in Sunrise were much more engaged and happy then in other facilities. My friend is still active and needs the engagement and interaction that I saw at Sunrise."

"My dad is at Summit Place. Everything is very nice. We have no complaints. He has been there for two months now, and it has been good. He likes the food. He gets three meals a day plus snacks. They do bingo, and they play cards. "

"I toured Terraces at Park Place and it was very nice. This was a larger facility compared to the others. The corridors were a little longer. I thought they had a lot to offer in terms of amenities. My dad is still pretty sharp in a lot of ways. And I didn't think it would be a good environment for him to be around residents that require a higher level of care. I didn't want him to be in a situation where that could be where he's placed. I just didn't think that was a good fit."

"My mom has been at Chestnut Ridge for three years now. This facility is very clean. If I could afford it, I would live there myself. The rooms are very nice. My mother is in like an apartment-type room where she is able to have her own living room and bedroom and there's even a little kitchenette. They serve three meals a day plus two snacks a day. They have numerous activities. They have a wellness center there on site where they administer her medicines for her. They also have a rehab facility there. For activities, they have arts and crafts, bingo, karaoke, etc. They would take them out to go to movies or to go to casino. They would also take them out for rides or for dinners, etc."

"Viva Senior Living at Cross Keys is nice and clean. The people who work there are jovial with the patients. They have a lot of patience, and they treat them very nicely. Right now, my wife is in a semi-private apartment, waiting to be put into a private apartment. The room she is in now, they share the bathroom, and there are two beds. They have a program list that varies from day to day, whether it's listening to music, dancing, or playing bingo. They have quizzes for them, and they have movies they can watch. They have a courtyard, but they really can't walk in it now because of the snow. They have a salon where you can get your hair cut. They have a couple of dayrooms and auditoriums where they eat lunch, dinner, and breakfast. My wife likes their food. It's worth the money."

"My mom will be moving into this facility. I liked that it was clean and quaint and had kind of a nice setting. It was a nice-looking place and it had friendly people. It seemed like a good place to put my mother in. The rooms had various sizes. The largest would be a 2-bedroom apartment, with sort of an open layout. And the smallest was a studio, which was a single room with a bathroom, a closet, and a cubby for putting a bench and maybe a television. The staff was very friendly, and attentive, trying to make sure that we got all our questions answered, and he's been very responsive, too."

"I had an in-person tour of True Wood by Merrill, Glen Riddle. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were adequate according to whatever your needs were, like size and space. You would have to bring your own appliances. The staff was very knowledgeable, caring, and kind."

"All American at Washington Township had multiple floors and that concerned me. The apartment had two rooms and then they shared a bathroom and a common area, and I did not like that as much as having your own room. They had quite an array of activities and a lot of programs going. The staff seemed pretty congenial and pretty enthusiastic. The facility was brand new."

"Brookdale Hockessin is a smaller location, and they didn't really have as many things to offer as I saw in other places. I met with the director and he was very, very nice. I actually had several conversations with him over the phone and it was informative. It's an older building. It's very small, and they didn't have the physical activities that I thought would be appropriate for my mother. She likes to walk outside, and she likes to use gym equipment. Everyone I saw was pretty physically incapacitated. It seems very clean, and it seemed to be appropriate for the residents who were living there."

"I am so thankful for nurses and the aids at the Mews. They go above and beyond . Kim schedules trips for them and even comes in on her days off. She finds cute activites and does them with the patients woth the help of Sarah. They make sure the unit is cute and decorated for every holiday. The aids are wonderful with the residents and i know they get great nursing care. Im happy my grandmom gets to call this place home and it guves me comfort knowing she is well cared for. "

"It is a 1-floor facility. My mother has a nice room, her own bathroom, and her own living space. They have activities. I have dined there, and it's fine. They've got physical therapy and a nice television room. It has easy access."

"My Dad moved to Cardinal Village at the beginning of the year. The staff has been incredible from the beginning. So welcoming, warm, and responsive all the time. They go out of their way to help him whenever they can. The apartments are large and spacious, and the best part is that they have screened in patios so that I can visit from outside whenever I want. That has been a blessing for our family and dad during the last several months especially. I can’t thank the staff enough for always keeping us up to date and making my Dad’s life so much better!"

"We went here. We loved the people. We loved everything available, whether it was the activities that they had or the different rooms that they had. They had a movie theater room and a craft room. They just had a lot of different things there. What we didn't like, it was too spread out for my mom because of her mobility. Everyone I met was definitely engaged, caring, and very involved in what they were doing with the residents. They just had a lot of activities. It was very clean, and it just seemed that the residents were engaged. They had PT and OT on site. They had a craft room, a sewing room, and a game room. They had a pub. It was really cute, it was styled like a fifties diner. So breakfast and lunch were at the fifties diner, and then dinner was off the main dining hall."

"My husband just started his stay at Sunrise of Granite Run yesterday morning. The rooms and all the living spaces looked very bright. They have a lot of windows, which just helps bring up your spirits even on days where it's not sunny. The place is organized and they have staff members who have been there for 10 to 15 years. Everybody also gets involved with the residents, not just some people, but everybody from the higher management down to the staff members. They have a lot of activities for the residents and they just seem to provide a lot of care throughout the days. They're very forthcoming in telling you everything that they possibly can about the place. They want to know all about the residents so that they can meet their needs, make them happy, and do things that they know they would like to do. I saw my husband yesterday taking one meal and he seemed happy about it too. They bring them together to do different kinds of physical activities, like sitting in a chair, doing different motions, using sports equipment, balls or little sticks, and sometimes baking. Right now, some furniture is being replaced because they are already used, but the outside looks beautiful. It's very well manicured. It looks like little Victorian houses with turrets. It looks very pretty. It has flowers everywhere, there are porches with rocking chairs, and there's a specific area where the memory care residents can go outside. It's a restricted area where they have a high fence and a gate that's locked. They have a big porch with chairs and then a garden that's landscaped, so they can look around, walk around, and be outside."
