"My mother is living in here; it is very nice. They are very caring, and they seemed to take very good care of her. It’s bright, cheery, and it’s very clean. They are very kind, caring, and there is always somebody close at hand to even just to stop and chat with her and try to boost her spirits, so we have been very happy with it. My mother and another woman are in one room, and the space is good. She loves the food there; it’s very good, and it’s almost like they are going to a restaurant. They have a menu for every meal, and I think they have a couple of choices. They always have a few things just in case; she can always get grilled cheese or soup or something. I think that’s one of the pluses; she really seems to enjoy the food. Every morning they do a session called keep it sharp; they get the residents in a room, read a newspaper, and they discuss different articles in the newspaper. They do karaoke and arts and crafts, and it seems pretty active there."

"We toured Gilpin Hall. It was a very good tour. My mother was very happy with visiting. She was very happy and expressed how she would like to be a resident there. The rooms were good. The facility was very well maintained and very clean, and everything was suitable to move my mother there as a resident. The staff was very good and knowledgeable, and took their time showing us around the facility, to the rooms, the dining area, and the game room. We didn't try the food, but the dining area was very clean and very well-kept."

"My brother is in Kentmere. It's favorable. It's not fancy. They are very courteous. They seem to take care of the patients. If he needed anything, they are there to take care of him and they are prompt in providing it. It's older, it's like 100 years old I think. It was a lot better than a couple I'd looked at. Physical therapy is through an insurance company. They seem to be doing their job, and there are a lot of people there. They've got good coverage. I saw them this morning doing activities. It's an Alzheimer's area, so they were batting a ball around, they have small tubes and throwing them on pegs, and easy things like that. My brother's there for physical therapy, and he goes down to the PT room where they are trying to get him to go from a wheelchair onto the toilet, standing up, and things like that. So they do have the facilities for P.T. and occupational therapy. I'm satisfied with them."

"10 days of rehab after spinal surgery. The staff was great. PT and OT everyday got me back on my feet. The place was clean and well taken care of. The food some good and some I did not care for. Overall I would recommend to friends and family. No one wants to be in a rehab but if it is necessary I think you will like this place. Mary"

"Stonegates was absolutely outstanding, but very expensive. The apartments were great. They're laid out very well and they're oriented to the community they're trying to serve. The staff member was great. She knew what she was doing and she had a great facility. They have everything. They have cards and guest lectures. The food was wonderful and the dining area was set up like a restaurant. It's like a five-star resort."

"I visited Cokesbury Village and I loved it. It’s a nice area and an upscale facility. The place is well taken care of. The clientele is all professional retirees. It’s one of the nicer ones in the area for sure. It’s comfortable but upscale, so it’s a lot more formal. I was pleased with the visit. "

"Methodist Country House seems to be a very pleasant place. The people seemed to be happy there. The setting was gorgeous. It's surrounded by trees and lovely grounds. It's a location I am familiar with. The rooms were clean, but a little bit smaller than what I have now. They have a variety of activities, which are resident driven. They have clubs and groups that meet, like gardening, music, and painting. The food that I had was good. Everybody was very nice and the facilities were good."

"From the very beginning to the last day of my mom being here was awesome. The staff Jade, Mackensie, and the nutrition staff were amazing. Due to my moms illness, she has stayed at other facilities, but I am thankful for Manor Care. Rooms and patients bathrooms were cleaned. Very caring doctors and socialworker staff communicated on everything that involved my mom. I would recommend a love one staying here. The only thing that needed improvement is the food served to residents. My mom wouldn’t eat the meals because food was not appealing, and she only ate the tuna everyday. They have a very caring attitude towards the residents . "

"My friend is at New Castle Health and Rehabilitation Center. The nurses are excellent there. They're so nice. They're excellent. She was in another one, and they couldn't compare to this one. When I first went there, it was kind of touch and go because my friend had been in other ones, and I thought, 'Here we go again.' However, it was very nice there. The people there are excellent. They take such good care of everyone. Usually, when you go into a place like this, a lot of times it'll smell like someone has a dirty diaper or something, but New Castle never has an odor in there. It's very clean. It is not modern as far as new things, but it is immaculate. The employees are excellent. They treat people like their own mother or father, that's how nice they are. They offer a lot of different activities. They give you a paper for the month telling you what's going on every day. They have bingo. You can get your hair done on Wednesday. They have manicures one day a week. It's so pleasant. The people who are working there make you feel like you're at home. They're very nice people. Food is delivered to their rooms. My friend eats it all, so I guess it's not too bad. However, they could give a little larger portion. They can get my friend a sandwich if she wants it. As for the upkeep, they keep the place very nice and clean, but it is an older building."

"I visited someone at Manorcare at one time, and I thought her room was very small. The fact that she was with somebody who never put the lights out was quite distracting for somebody who is trying to recover from an illness. My friend was there for like three months with Pancreatitis, and I would say she felt good about it. There was no staff to greet me though. There was somebody behind the counter, and I asked where my friend was, but there was nobody other than that. There was no person wandering around looking for newcomers or anything of that sort. I think it is fine. There were people in the hall in wheelchairs. My friend had a trainer that was coming, she was going for exercises, and her doctor came to see her frequently. Another new facility which is just up the road will have independent living, assisted living, and memory care but no nursing. The people who run that have indicated that if you need nursing care, you should go to Manorcare. "

"The staff at the facility are extremely friendly people. The number of activities available to the residents of the center is innumerable from lounging in the rec-room to swimming in their indoor pool. The food is also excellent there and the residents are always happy, seemingly. Every year we go to visit at their christmas party that is held there, in the gymnasium. The event is catered very well and all the residents' families are able to visit and enjoy themselves with music, presents, and good food. The visiting hours are not restrictive at all, allowing family members to come and go as they please so long as they sign in. Every resident is also given a roommate and a private room, almost like a dorm, accompanied with televisions, telephones and almost anything else the residents could ask for. The staff is also ready to accomodate any need that the residents could ask for. The facilities are also kept remarkably clean. "

"Brackenville Center is pretty new and in good shape. They have a very nice dining hall and a church. Mom undergoes physical and occupational therapies and was allowed to bring her pet. They have bingo, movie nights, puzzles, and play different games, like Family Feud. Mom is very picky, but she likes the staff. "

"She loved it there. In all the dozens of times I visited, I never once got anything other than a positive impression. The staff were very friendly, and also quite professional. They had a diverse staff, which was good because while it was primarily a jewish nursing home, there were people of all backgrounds there. The facilities were excellent, and in great repair. Everything seemed very clean, but it didn't feel sterile and drab like a hospital. They had excellent medical personnel on staff which made be feel comfortable to leave in the evening, knowing that my loved one was in good hands. I would certainly consider the Kutz Home, over any and all other options for future situations, and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the Wilmington, Delaware area. If you want your elderly loved one to feel comfortable, and be well cared for, the Kutz Home is certainly the right place. "

"It was very nice. We didn’t go there because their therapy was just a visiting service, and my friend needed it all the time. The facility was great, and the people were very nice. I went through the whole place, and they told me the different levels of care that were available, and I was interested at that time in their assisted living facility as well as respite care. The apartments all looked very nice, well taken care of, and clean. I also was interested in finding out if they had a built-in lift, and I don’t think had that; they had the wheeled-in one. It was very nice, but the therapy is what my friend needed and that was not available."
