"My Father was sent to Chester Valley Rehab in March from Paoli Hospital for Skilled Nursing. He found the Staff to be "wonderful." He really liked all of the people there. The nurses, the doctor, the PT people, and the aids, as well as the dieticians, worked with him and made his stay quite comfortable and pleasant. I read the reviews when the social worker @ Paoli was sending him there and I must say I was skeptical. However, my father enjoyed his short term stay and enjoyed those who cared for him. "

"My husband is at Aventura at Pembrooke skilled nursing home. I like it there and he likes it there too. It's just so far away from home. It's almost a two-hour drive for me but I had to get him into a locked-down facility and it was the only one that I could find that would take him. They have a shortage of help but that's an issue in all the nursing homes. Some of the staff are good and some of them are not as good. The food is also not that good. For activities, they play bingo, watch TV, and do different things. The whole place is being remodeled but my husband is on the 3rd floor and they haven't gotten to it yet. I think it will be nice though. They have a gym and an outdoor patio. He's been there for a while now now so I would want them to get the third floor finished. They're working on the first floor now. Also, I would like it if they could have more activities. The place is near a hospital."

"It was very nice, friendly, and much bigger than other facilities, but the rooms were smaller. It's a medical model so I would have lived with people who need more assisted living than I do. The staff was very friendly."

"My husband is in Brandywine Hall. It was a place where they had all of the services that he needed, and he needed a great deal of care. They're giving him very good care and he's also getting hospice care from another provider. Like with so many of these facilities, they are having problems maintaining staff because of COVID. There's a lot of extra things to do, but they're coping well. I think mostly there's not enough of them. His menu is limited because of his problems with eating. I would say that from a medical perspective, the food is fine. It's nourishing and that's good fun. Just from a general appeal perspective, it could be better, but I don't think that's important in his situation. They have a whole schedule of activities for the residents that are appropriate to the different capabilities that the residents have. My husband is not able to participate in many activities, but they're available. Their facilities are very clean and utilitarian. They could have more high appeal, I suppose, but they're not ugly and they're not old. It's shocking how expensive long-term care is anywhere. But I would say that compared to other places in Pennsylvania, particularly in the general area, I think that the cost is pretty much appropriate."

"Her experience in Bryn Mawr Rehab was nice. My mother was released there after 5 days after having a stroke. The staff and the therapist were good. It is a very well respected rehab hospital. "

"The place is nice, however it is a little run down (Pocopson). The food is alright; I have eaten there before with my Grandfather. The staff are very nice people and are friendly with the residents. However, it has a weird smell to the place and the rooms aren't all that great. You can tell they were cheaply made. There are many events such as Bingo there every weekend, and they have a nice place where you can sit down / watch TV when you are eating. They serve lots of things there, and they do put some effort into the cooking. When it is warm outside, residents can sit outside and have a smoke or read the paper. It's a nice green lawn with a small garden and some big trees. Going back inside, the lobby area is pretty small as well. The place has big locked doors in a lot of places so the residents can not get out unless you sign them out and they are healthy enough to leave. "

"My parents moved into a detached home in White Horse Village 3 years ago and are really happy. The facilities are well constructed, the staff are caring, knowledgeable and professional. They are very responsible in maintaining the buildings and grounds. The location is beautiful, close to parks, a bit of a hike to grocery stores but they also provide transportation. "

"Kendal is a brand new community. They are on a 400-acre property. We are considering to live in this place. It is a continuing care community, which is very good. They just built some new cottages with two-car garages. They also have two-bedroom units, which we like very much. Kendal is a very highly rated community in this area; however, it is also expensive. "

"At first, I didn't like Devon Manor, but after I complained, it was fine. Some of the staff members were good, and some weren't; that was part of my complaint. The grounds are nice, well-kept, and well-groomed. The staff was nice enough. The rooms were "meh." It was nice but nothing special, and they could use a remodel. My mom was happy with the food, and she actually really liked it. The dining room needs improvement, but it was nice enough. "

"I visited this facility very recently. The receptionist admissions director, and an occupational therapist were wonderful and made me feel welcomed. The outside of the facility was aesthetically more attractive than the inside. The resident areas smelled of urine or some other similar odor. The rooms I remember looked old and dingy. Mostly, I didn't like that adjoining twin bed rooms shared the same bathroom which means as many as four residents would share the same bathroom. The residents seemed okay. Lastly, where the facility is located [off a fast moving roadway] makes it easy to miss. If you do miss it, you'll drive a distance to make a suitable U-turn. After the U-turn, you have to drive pass the facility to be able to return to the road it's on. Even more frustrating was getting out of the parking lot on to the road which proved to be a very cautious adventure. I would give it 2 1/2 stars. "
