I visited this facility

It was a very comprehensive explanation of the facility and its offerings. All of my questions were answered and the follow-up was appreciated. I also liked the take-with reading materials, which gave me an opportunity to review, after leaving the facility, what I had seen and heard .

I visited this facility

Country House is an extremely expensive place. They've added more cottages at this point, but the building inside was old. They had standard amenities, like arts, exercises, and so on, but for the amount of money they were quoting, they would only give you one meal per day. The free lunch I had at the time of my visit was special lunches that they put on during tours. It was good restaurant quality, but it is not what you get if you live there. The person who gave the tour was pleasant, good, nice and explained things. They have different programs too for activities, that consists of some hobbies you'd like to do and others.

Methodist Country House seems to be a very pleasant place. The people seemed to be happy there. The setting was gorgeous. It's surrounded by trees and lovely grounds. It's a location I am familiar with. The rooms were clean, but a little bit smaller than what I have now. They have a variety of activities, which are resident driven. They have clubs and groups that meet, like gardening, music, and painting. The food that I had was good. Everybody was very nice and the facilities were good.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother (now 93 years old) has been a resident at the Methodist Country House since 2000. She has lived in Independent Care, Assisted Living, and now Health Center Care. In each of these stages, she has been extremely well cared for, with exemplary attention by staff at all levels in all capacities. The facility is extremely well cared for, dining areas and offerings are also excellent. And she has been under the care of numerous caring and qualified individuals in nursing, social work, recreation, etc. In short she has thrived under their care. I completely and whole heartedly recommend this facility!

The Methodist Country House is a combination of everything. The rooms are all very nicely kept and updated. It's very homey and very clean. The staff is very helpful. Their activities seem okay, but my mom isn't too interested in doing a lot of those activities.

The facility was well manicured and clean, and the staff was caring and paid attention to individual needs. The food/entertainment was also above my expectations. Good job MCH staff!

Resident

My Mother was in the Methodist country Home for less than one month. During the first week she fell and broke her wrist. There was one person on staff at the time that she fell so no one saw her. I found them to be understaffed quite a bit of the time of weekends and nights. I was told a whirlpool tub would be available only to find out that it had never worked. They are understaffed. We are in the process of filing a complaint with the State. In addition, we had to pay a $5,000 recreation fee which I believe under the circumstances of blatant lies and improper care should e returned with no question. We re told we will get a return call from the Director who never returns the call. I would not place my loved one in this facility. I know it has had a long-standing reputation of being one of the best but that was before the recent takeover.

Warm, friendly community with caring staff and attentive management. Upscale amenities that promote an independent lifestyle while providing higher level of care in a newly renovated health center. Interactive resident committees, socially enhanced while offering a assurance for future health care needs. Location perfect for travelling into PA and NJ.
