"Foulk Living has been caring for my parents like family! Their rooms are comfortable. The food is delicious and plentiful. But the best part about Foulk Living is the staff! My mother has dementia and has been at Foulk Living for over a year. Her nurses treat her with respect and dignity. She is dressed and clean. They interact with her to stimulate her brain. They love her in our absence. My father was brought to Foulk Living after rehab for a broken hip. Sadly, he was too weak to recover from his surgery. The staff at Foulk were so attentive to my father’s needs in his final days. Not only did they care for him, they cared for us as his family. We were encouraged to spend as much time with our father as we felt necessary. They made sure we ate and explained everything that was happening every step of the way. They even made sure that my mom was brought to my dad’s side so that they can have time together. They love my family and care for them physically as well as emotionally. Never did I expect the level of care and love we have experienced! Foulk Living and the staff are top notch. We could not have asked for a better partner in taking care of our parents during the difficulties of their lives!! Thank you Foulk Living for loving my parents and caring for us all!!!"

"We toured the Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line, and the residents were all very friendly and very involved in their activities of the day. They offered me lunch so I could sample the food. The apartments were all lovely and large. They were not the most expensive. They are cheaper than the other facilities. Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line is my number one choice. I'm hoping to get in there. It's nestled next to a golf course. It must be incredibly lovely during the summer. The staff was very nice. Everywhere we went, someone was cleaning. We went into people's apartments because they didn't have anything open at the moment, and they said, "Oh, I love living here. It's wonderful. Look at the view I have." I liked it, and it felt like home."

"We live at The Quadrangle, and we are extremely happy. We are in a cottage. We've been here for eight years. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We have all the support we need for any problem that we have. This is a physically beautiful community with 70 acres of woodland. We have trails around. I ride an electric cart, and I can ride all around the fire road. We have a pond. We have very active activities, all organized by the residents. The Quadrangle emphasizes the life of the mind. Most of our residents are highly educated, formerly people in education and business. We have a common dining room, and we have a grill, and you can eat at either place. You have to have reservations for the dining room. It's very elegant. We think the food is wonderful, it's healthy, and has many choices. Since we live in a cottage and my husband and I are still well and in good health, we generally get our dinner and bring it back to the cottage so that we can eat privately. We have just undergone an extensive internal renovation of the facility, and this summer, there will be an external renovation of more plantings and more designs. We have over 70 activities."

"We toured Millcroft Living. It was excellent. The staff was excellent. They were very spacious. They were very luxurious, but we couldn't afford them, so we moved on. They had a lot of activities for the elders. They showed us around. They had a little lounge and a little happy hour area. They had a communal area where everyone could be together. It was a beautiful place."

"I toured Freedom Village at Brandywine. It's a very pleasant environment for the residents. It does have varied amenities there, both indoors and outdoors. The staff was very pleasant, very helpful, and very informative. It was very clean, and they had a very efficient cleaning staff because I noticed them working around the building."

"We looked at Wesley Enhanced Living at Stapeley. The tour was excellent. We had dinner there with some residents, and we liked it. The staff who gave the tour was extremely knowledgeable about the facility. The apartments looked appropriately spacious. The dining area was attractive, and the food was tasty. The facility seemed well maintained."

"Elmwood Hills Healthcare Center has been a true blessing for our family. From the moment we toured the facility, we were met with warmth, professionalism, and a clear commitment to excellent care. The rooms are clean, bright, and thoughtfully designed to make residents feel at home. The nursing staff is incredible — attentive, respectful, and genuinely caring. They kept us well-informed every step of the way and treated my loved one with the utmost compassion. The rehabilitation team was also outstanding, creating a personalized plan that helped my mother regain strength and confidence after surgery. One thing that stood out was the variety and quality of meals — not only nutritious but also delicious and tailored to residents’ needs. The atmosphere throughout the facility is calm, positive, and supportive. Elmwood Hills doesn’t just provide healthcare — they provide dignity, healing, and peace of mind. I’m deeply grateful to their entire team and would recommend them without hesitation."

"The people at St. Mary Center For Rehabilitation & Healthcare were wonderful, very helpful, very knowledgeable, very professional, very amiable, personable, and very concerned that I learned what I would need to know to see if my father would be comfortable. The rooms were wonderful. Each room has its own mailbox. The studio was not too small. I thought it was the perfect size for my dad. They have a nice bathroom, nice storage, and you get your own door out into the courtyard. There's a couch there, and it's gorgeous. Their campus is like 22 acres, and they have various courtyards and barbecue areas, things that come alive a little more in the late spring and summer. They have their own little cement patios in each unit, so they can sit out and watch the birds, get some fresh air, and see what the neighbors are up to. It was just an upbeat place. They got a salon. It just seems like you wouldn't have to go anywhere if you were there. It's a very neat dining setup where it looks like a diner. I would love to go there every day. They have three squares and snacks, but they have a setup where they have like napkins, ketchup and mustard, and salt and pepper. It's very user-friendly."

"We got Mom over at the Riverview Estates. She loves their food. It's gorgeous. It's very clean. The maintenance is good. They just had a whole bunch of renovations. It's pristine. The view of the river makes you feel like you're on vacation versus in a senior living home. They have this beautiful atrium with rocking chairs so people can sit and just look at the river. It's a beautiful ambiance. She's very happy there. They have religious services six days a week, which my mother loves, and bingo, which she loves. They bring in a lot of entertainers, like a lot of singers. On Christmas, they brought in a choir. She hung up on me the other day to go play bingo. She's happy that they have the Hallmark Channel in their TV room. They have a giant screen TV with a bunch of chairs and that makes her very happy, even though she has a small TV in her room. They're very attentive to her needs. When she misses a meal, they come up and they try to get her down for meals. If she can't make it down because she's in too much pain, they bring her her meals. Whenever I called the facility during the first couple of weeks when she was getting acclimated, they called me back very quickly. They work to get her needs met. I think the value for the money is great. I wish she would call staff more often, but that has nothing to do with their rating. She has a habit of not wanting to ask for help, but they know to come look for her, which I find important. I'm very happy there."

"I toured the Deer Meadows Retirement Community. It was accommodating. It was comfortable, and the people there seemed very happy to be there. It was pretty clean. It was decent, like I walked into the dining room, I was impressed. I have multiple sclerosis, so I used a rollator. They were very accommodating with letting me in and helping to find someone to help push me around. The dining room was beautiful. It's nice. I love the dining room. I saw the mailbox and activity room. They had a little foyer when you came in, and there's a lot of presents sitting there."

"I went to Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park. The way they work is you can move into independent living, and then you can stay in that same apartment and do assisted living. We looked at one apartment, but I think it could have become both. You don't have to move out of your apartment until your assisted living gets to an extreme level. I was dazzled. I was disappointed that my father-in-law was not willing to move in that day. I would move in there. It feels very homey while at the same time it's extremely professional. I would describe it as very luxe. They have a beautiful courtyard. Everything is spotless. Any time we walked past a staff member with the tour guide, he knew their name, he introduced us, and they chit-chatted. It all felt very friendly and very genuine. It was great. We were in the dining room, and then they had a separate cafe. There are a few different places to get food. We looked at a couple of different menus, but we didn't try anything."

"My mom has been in this nursing home for quite a while. And as many of you know, the nursing home was formerly St. Mary's Catholic home which was bought by new ownership. It is now St. Mary's Center. I have to say that I go into the facility every week to visit my mother. I am happy and impressed by the cleanliness and the professionalism of the staff. I am able to compare and see how good they really are because of my experiences with other facilities.. The nursing care is good, and the therapy department was my moms favorite place to be. She loved the staff. Lately they have been doing many renovations that are making the facility look even more inviting. I take my hat off to the new ownership for doing this and making it feel more like home. The one thing I do miss from the past is the nuns that were in the facility. They still have some but not as many as before. I just always thought they were a wonderful calming factor. Overall, St. Mary's is a great place to receive care for your loved one. "

"What I like most about Maris Grove is the activities and the whole indoor environment. They had a whole world you could walk around inside, like in the middle of winter, you could walk miles and never go outside. They had a lot of hallways and a lot of corridors, and a lot of buildings. They had basic things like a library and a gym. The staff was very nice and they told us the whole deal. We had good food, and their dining area was nice and comfortable. The facility was very well kept."

"I visited this facility very recently. The receptionist admissions director, and an occupational therapist were wonderful and made me feel welcomed. The outside of the facility was aesthetically more attractive than the inside. The resident areas smelled of urine or some other similar odor. The rooms I remember looked old and dingy. Mostly, I didn't like that adjoining twin bed rooms shared the same bathroom which means as many as four residents would share the same bathroom. The residents seemed okay. Lastly, where the facility is located [off a fast moving roadway] makes it easy to miss. If you do miss it, you'll drive a distance to make a suitable U-turn. After the U-turn, you have to drive pass the facility to be able to return to the road it's on. Even more frustrating was getting out of the parking lot on to the road which proved to be a very cautious adventure. I would give it 2 1/2 stars. "

"The staff at the manor is very considerate of my husband, they make sure he is well taken care of. They often bring him to the visitors lounge, so he is not alone in a room all day. I was surprised by the food, it is very good. Physicals Therapy is currently working with my husband after a fall at home. They are very attentive to his needs. The social worker is there to help with any needs I will have when he is strong enough to be released."

"I toured Granite Farms Estates. I was with two of my friends, and we noticed the same thing, that everybody seemed happy. It seemed to be a friendly place. There's a concept of continuous care. They go on trips, they give you transportation to stores once a week or something, and they take you to church, and that's important to me. The food was very good. The staff were professional and very pleasant. I especially like the outside which was very good as far as what it looked like with the flowers and the grass. Everything was very nice. Inside, they had a pool, and I like to swim. They have a nice theater where they show films, and they also have different activities there. I met these three women who had apartments right where I was going to be, and they were very nice and very welcoming. Every apartment had a balcony or a patio, one or the other. It was more modern and more pleasant than a lot of the places. The room that I'm going to get, they're going to do new floors, paint the cabinets, and paint the walls. "

"My mother was in the facility, (6th floor) for several weeks before she passed on the 17th of October. I cannot stress enough the impression I was left with the staff at Fair Acres. From the business office, to the floor nurses and doctors and the nurses from Campassus, it was beyond expectation. Constant texts and phone calls from the staff for every thing related to my mom's condition. Sometimes 3 to 4 calls a day which i very much appreciated. My mom went there for Hospice and i can say she died in peace thanks to the effort of all those involved with her care. My family thanks them from the bottom of our hearts. "

"White Horse Village is a stand-alone place. It is not owned by any major corporation but by individual investors, and it's beautiful. It's actually my first choice, but it's a little step above and a little more expensive. They have different choices of villas, carriage homes, condos, and so on. It's just lovely."
