Makemie at Whiteland is the newest senior living option in the Delaware Valley. Makemie features spacious new apartment and villa homes, as well as assisted living and nursing care all on the campus. We are accepting reservations now and wil be open in 2012.

"Our mother moved to WHV over 14 yeas ago and our family has found the facility, staff, and grounds to be everything advertised. Until a few months ago she spent the last 3years in the assisted living (personal care) section of the healthcare facility. The staff is attentive and caring, and we appreciate the fact that they regularly kept us advised of any changes, events, etc. whether they were critical in nature or not. During that time our mother spent a few temporary periods in the skilled nursing section while recovering from various events. She is now a permanent resident in the skilled nursing section, and we are extremely pleased with the care she is receiving and the caring nature of the staff, from her nurses and aides to the administrative personnel and the people who coordinate and lead the various activities. This is so important to us, as we visit often but do not live close by. "

"The food was good, and the people were nice at Simpson Meadows. It would have been a very attractive place for me to live. The apartments were very nice. There were many choices. It was clean and in a good location too. It is near a Wegmans grocery store and the movies. The person who accommodated me was very knowledgeable. They had a luncheon for interested people and a lecture on current events. They have lectures, movies, and a fitness room. They also have a bus that takes the residents to places."

"We will be moving into Maris Grove. The facility was excellent. We liked the care and everything about it. The staff members were excellent. The apartment we picked out is going to be very well suited for us. We were very impressed with them. We liked the size, amenities, and overall layout of the place. It meets our needs. They have a courtyard. The facility is very well organized, very clean, and accessible. They have many clubs that we can get involved in, and it's a place that I think we can enjoy."

"Kendal-Crosslands Communities offers a continuum of care which is a plus for me when I need more help. It's a Quaker community, and I find the Quaker values a very comfortable environment. It's physically attractive, but they're low-key not into fancy chandeliers. They say it's spooky but outside, the grounds are attractive. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful. I like the way they stay in touch with prospects like me, they don't overdo it or keep bugging me. On the other hand, they check in now and then with a phone message or an email. It's a balanced marketing approach, I just found them to be professional and dignified but friendly and responsive. The facility itself is not brand new, maybe parts of it are, but the facility as a whole has been there for a while. So it's not as spiffy as some of the newer places. Their activities are pretty much typical of those places. They make arrangements so that you can go into the city for concerts, plays, and visits to museums. They also have onsite facilities for sport and fitness, movies, and bridge."

"I think Granite Farms Estates is 100%, that's why I'm going there. They more than satisfied me. I liked that they have a giant indoor pool, a big, wonderful library, and a gym to support my activities. It was in a beautiful country setting and you don't even see or hear the city. It's the best I've seen. The staff is excellent, very concerned, and caring. The meals in the café were very good and reasonable cost-wise. It's wonderful and I'd be on the second floor, which I wanted, and it has a beautiful balcony. The place has nice landscaping. They have a lot of very good activities. I've talked to the people there and they're very happy. The lobby is just immense, new, bright, and welcoming. It's just a beautiful entrance. They're redoing my apartment completely so everything is going to be brand new."

"Lima Estates is very lovely. I really like it, but my daughter's going to be living with me, and she's only fifty-one. I liked everything I saw. I have friends who live there that like the place and are very happy there. I live around the corner from there. Unfortunately, they will not accept my daughter until she's fifty-two. I made a deposit as a prospective member, but I will get that back. I would recommend them because of the atmosphere. Lima Estates and its sister community were equally wonderful, and I like them both in terms of atmosphere and quality of care. The aesthetics are beautiful, and they're both wonderful communities, but they don't happen to be in the area where I wish to relocate. I've had both lunch and dinner there, and I've been very happy. Everything was wonderful."

"The process of putting a parent into Independent living is tough for everyone. A senior getting used to new place to live and chldren giving up their childhood home is very emotional. My Mom started the process of looking into senior living residences in March. After looking into just about every facility in Delaware County, nothing compared to Riddle Village. From the staff to the residents to the gorgeous facility, all five of us kids decided that Riddle Village was second to none. After moving her in on July 1, she is very happy, eventhough she still gets lost. However, there is always a smiling face to help her find what she is looking for. She enjoys staying at the "Ritz Carlton" and especially enjoys having an adult beverage in the Thoroughbread Lounge where she meets new people every time she visits. I recommend Riddle not only to potential residents, but to other children who have to make the decision. You won't be sorry. "

"My grandmother was a patient here for her medical needs. The staff was attentive, patient, friendly and assisted our family. Not only were we kept informed, we could see the changes in my grandmother from the time she entered the facility to her departure. I would highly recommend Greenleaf to anyone seeking care for a loved one. "

"Stonegates was absolutely outstanding, but very expensive. The apartments were great. They're laid out very well and they're oriented to the community they're trying to serve. The staff member was great. She knew what she was doing and she had a great facility. They have everything. They have cards and guest lectures. The food was wonderful and the dining area was set up like a restaurant. It's like a five-star resort."

"It had excellent accommodations. The food was a hit. They had a little concert room for stage shows or concerts that was not just a converted room or living room. "

"I visited Cokesbury Village and I loved it. It’s a nice area and an upscale facility. The place is well taken care of. The clientele is all professional retirees. It’s one of the nicer ones in the area for sure. It’s comfortable but upscale, so it’s a lot more formal. I was pleased with the visit. "
