"It is very clean and has a good atmosphere. My friend has an efficiency room, with a bathroom and shower, a little kitchenette and one large room enough for his bedroom and living room furniture. He gets breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast and lunch are buffet and dinner is a sit down. They have also movies and last night my friend said they had a group that was singing. They have a reading room, weight loss exercises, and they have buses that take them out to shop and to some place different each day. It’s beautifully decorated and very quiet. It’s an area like all by itself. It used to be a big mansion. My friend is very happy. It was very easy dealing with the application. They made arrangements for somebody to take him down to his meals the first two days. They also gave him a very nice gift when he arrived. It was just beautiful and my friend is so happy. "

"I chose Riddle Village LifeCare Retirement Community because they were more active there. They were very pleasant, there were lots of staff, and they seemed to be outgoing. I tried the food, and it was very good. They had a pool, gym, lounge, arts and crafts, and library. Excellent upkeep and cleanliness. It's all been refurbished, and it looked like it's pretty new."

"I went to Lima Estates to visit a friend of mine and the place was very nice, very warm, and very homey. The food was good because I was able to go there for lunch. It's only two stories high, so they don't have long elevator rides to get to where you're going. It's older, but it's a very nice place. The outside buildings and the grounds were kept up nicely. It was very pretty from the outside. The only staff I dealt with were the ones from the cafeteria and they were very good. They have recently put a pool for the residents, and they also have a library and different things that they can participate in. I saw an art show, which was very nice too, but I know that parking has always been an issue there. It's so difficult to find a place to put your car whenever you visit."

"My great-great aunt is 97 years old. Although she needs help with some every day things because her mobility is limited, she also needs intellectual and environmental stimulation because she is an extraordinary woman. She is so incredibly happy at this facility. The people that work here are amazing and extremely patient and helpful. There are several places to eat within the facility. The facility is located in a beautiful area surrounded by trees and nature. It has a very pleasant feeling to it without feeling like a facility. It is homey and comfortable. There are many activities within the facility that are planned for the residents including clubs, fitness center, games, movies, etc. There is even a library, which she enjoys going to frequently. There are also extra rooms that can be rented for short stays for visitors. I found this extremely helpful because when our entire family visited, we could stay right in the facility without disrupting her routine so much. I highly recommend this facility, despite the fact that is is a bit costly. "

"Granite Farms Estates was pretty rural, but it's close to the little town of Media (which is a really nice little town). You get a certain number of meals per month. You can have lunch or dinner, and you can do more for a little extra. If you want less, you can just do whatever you want. You don't have to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day in their restaurant. It was a nice place. It had a pool, which I liked. The amenities were all very similar with the other places we looked at. They also had opportunities to watch movies, places where you can play cards or mahjong, crafts, dance lessons, and a gym. The woman who showed us around was Stacey. She was very pleasant, very nice, not pushy, and answered all the questions that my son and I had. It was just a beautiful place."

"I visited Simpson House. I liked the location and the different activities they have. They had a lot of community rooms, a gym, and a workout facility. It was really nice. The guy who I met with was part of their care team, and he was really nice, and the receptionist was nice. They showed me a room layout. It had everything new, like the marble countertops and dishwasher. They had one- and two-bedroom units. They had washers and dryers. They had a restaurant in there and they serve three meals a day with your stay there. It was part of your bill. They also had an alternate restaurant, and they change the menu for a slight cost. It wasn't expensive. You can cook your meals if you choose to. They had meeting rooms, like if you wanted to have a party, if you wanted a guest, or if they want to throw a birthday party for you. They have TV rooms and movie rooms. They had a lot to offer. They were immaculate."

"We liked White Horse Village for a combination of things. It's a nice locale, and it's not outrageously expensive as many of them are. We had lunch there and it was pretty good food. They have a pool, a wood shop, a rehab gym, and a regular gym"

"We saw Waverly Heights. It was very lovely. It was the only place we saw that we thought we might enjoy living there. It was very nice. We met with their sales representative and walked around the facility. All we saw were cottages or townhouses, and they're very beautiful. It's extremely expensive. It was very classy and very beautiful. The living atmosphere was gracious, lively, and well decorated. We had lunch there, and it was very good. There were tons of activities. They have a full fitness center, book clubs, bridge clubs, lectures, trips to cultural events, and continuing education classes."

"The Watermark at Logan Square is very nice and very upscale. The rooms are very nice. The person that gave me the tour was courteous. There are a lot of activities that they do there. I know they have recreational activities, and they have an exercise room. Overall, they seem to have everything pretty much covered. "

"My information applies only to Carepointe which is the short-term skilled nursing center at Cathedral Village. I was very grateful when there was space for my relative to be admitted to Carepointe because I had had experience at another nursing facility that was definitely inferior. Nevertheless, I found 3 things that seemed important enough not to give an overall rating of EXCELLENT to Carepointe. 1) We had 2 staff conferences about the treatment plan for my relative and neither of the 2 physicians attended either. (Generally, the physicians alternate the days of the week that they are present and they have additional responsibilities for patients on the 2nd floor of the building, as well.) 2)Three key staff members were either on vacation or left Carepointe's employment within the month, making continuity of treatment and continuity of communication difficult. 3) Although an alternative physician was supposed to be available on weekends, I was told this doctor could not make changes in medication, even when there seemed to be very good reasons to do so. (The solution is a patient may refuse to take a medication.) "

"My brother is already in a senior center called Masonic Village. It's very nice. He has his own room. They provide housekeeping and aides coming in three times a week. It's very nice. He is in independent living but he has an aide. The staff members are wonderful; they’re absolutely wonderful. They have very nice apartments. They have a bowling alley, they have a pool table, they have crafts, they have a talent show, and they have a library. Before COVID he would volunteer in the library to help other people get around. It’s very, very nice. He is younger than most of them, but that’s OK. He was there when my father was there, so when my father passed he went down to a one-bedroom and they found a one-bedroom in the same area for him. They're great. They're fabulous. The place is beautiful. I have no idea about the price, but it's one of the better ones."

"My father is at The Hill at Whitemarsh. It's a very nice facility and very clean. They have security at the front gate, which is very good. Everybody is very nice to him, and they treat him very well. He's really happy, and he's doing very well since being admitted there. The staff are very nice, very professional, and very compassionate. They take really good care of him. The food is excellent. They have an excellent menu for them to choose from. They have lobster bisque. He's very happy. Everybody was very nice to me and very polite to everybody. It's definitely worth it."

"I liked Maris Grove very much. The accommodations were spacious and terrific. What I liked the best was the largest one, which was the most expensive one that I couldn't afford. It had two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, and a family room. I was not sure, but I thought it had two full baths. The people were very nice. I was treated very well by the staff. The food was very good, and the dining room was well appointed. I think they had woodshop, aerobics class, and so many other activities. "

"Shannondell at Valley Forge is nice, but I didn’t like that my mother-in-law is in the nursing unit of it as we were not satisfied with her care there. The best way I can describe it is like going on a cruise. Basically, she has her own townhouse, and she her own full apartment. It’s independent living with perks; it’s like being in a resort, and it has its own swimming pool. They have two dining rooms; one is a formal dining room. The food is excellent food, and they have movies and activities. The level where she is now, the independent is excellent. They had different levels of care, and they have a medical unit for people recovering from surgeries. "
