"We loved Manor at York Town. It felt like a boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly. They have a coffee shop, they have a bar, and they have a beautiful indoor pool. The grounds were great, and from our point of view, we liked the fact that it was very small. The accommodations were apartments, and they had a good selection of single-bedroom to two-bedroom-and-den. We ate there, and the food was 5. If you choose to have meals, you get a budget and you can use it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner."

"Christ Home is a new facility, which is only about 3 years old. It's beautiful, and the people were extraordinarily nice. It's pretty small, and it's very nice for somebody that requires one-person transfer for everything. "

"I was very pleased with the accommodations at Pickering Manor. They showed us almost like a twin home that was like an apartment. It was very nice. The staff was very helpful. I think each one is provided ten meals a month, but they deliver them to you. That was kind of a drawback. "

"Pennswood Village was very beautiful. We liked the people that we met. The activities that they had were pretty standard but appealing. For us, this is the closest place to New York, so it makes it easier for us to get back to the city to visit friends and relatives. We also liked the fact that it's been there for a while; it's a more mature and developed community. The staff was excellent. They were very welcoming in setting us up to meet people, look at the apartments, take a tour, and get a feel of it. We visited the place two or three times. They just revamped their dining area. It's a very large space (both indoors and outdoors) and has an outside porch area. They're also in the process of opening another dining room, sort of a bar area. So, they have been doing a lot of renovations. The resident's rooms were not as modern as some of the new places that we've seen, but they're fine. We were looking at a two-bedroom, and it's the same size as the one we're living in now. It had a balcony. The food was very good. They had just changed to a system of ordering and having it made special for each meal."

"I know a thing or two about rehab facilities as my mother and father were in different ones at various times. This has been my first experience with the rehab facility of Paul's Run as I visit my aunt who has been there for a few weeks. I go fairly often and have been consistently impressed. First, I must say that I know rehab is not performed on the week-ends generally in any rehab facility- and that is how it is here ( from what I have seen). That said, in the other multiple offerings I feel that Paul's Run excels. The staff is not only attentive, but the ratio of staff to patient is admirable. Also, the same staff are in evidence all the time and are consistent in their attention to their job. The dining room staff is delightful and helpful, as are the nurses and CNAs. The staff appears to be serious in the objectives of their responsibilities and, at the same time, jovial and kind to the patients. The team care plan meeting was professional and on point. All in all, I give Paul's Run an excellent rating and hope that what I have so admired will continue. "

"I have a friend who lives in Rydal Park. This lady gets one meal a day there. They have little houses for people who want to live in houses. It's very posh, very nice, and very pretty. I think you almost feel like you're in a hotel. I think for day-to-day living, it's fine. It's very good, but for nursing care and that kind of thing, I don't think it is good. The staff members are very nice in general. Food is excellent. There is a good variety, and it's served nicely. They have a couple of different dining areas, and they're all very pretty. It's a beautiful place. Parking is terrible, though. Everything else is fine except for parking. They don't have enough parking. I ended up parking at a shopping center nearby."

"My grandparents lived at Gwynedd Estates for almost 20 years, and considered it one of the greatest decisions they ever made. The staff is not only friendly and professional, but took an earnest interest in their lives and well being. In my grandfather's final weeks, they could not have been more caring and helpful. Towards the end of his life, we literally saw them as fellow family members and will never forget the incredible job they did to make my grandfather's last days so comfortable. The on-site hospice staff spared nothing in their care for him, and when he passed they continued to support our family through our period of grief. At the funeral for both my grandparents, members of the facility came to pay their respects. When it is time for my wife and I to find a comfortable place to retire, we will no doubt do everything in our power to move in to Gwynedd. "

"We had to place our father in physical therapy after a serious fall at home and subsequent surgery. We are grateful to Pine Run Health Center for how wonderful they made his stay, the admissions process, and our visits. We had team meetings with the social worker and staff, OT and PT. He had excellent meals. His nurses were attentive and the facility is clean. We live close to the facility and visited several times a day and always found dad with a smile. In addition, the facility is in an easy-accessible, yet rural, Bucks County setting which allowed him to get fresh air daily, first by wheelchair and then via walks along the beautiful Pine Run paths. We are thankful to have such senior health care right here in Doylestown. "

"Spring House Estates was the least expensive. I think it was one of the older ones, but it was still very nice. The apartments were maybe just a little smaller. I had lunch there, and it was very good. They didn't have a pool, but then they said you can use the pool at the YMCA without any charge (which was nice). They said it's a nice YMCA. I didn't go there, but it's a fairly new one that's nearby. They will take you there in their little shuttle, and they also use that shuttle to take you to doctor's appointments, shopping, or the train station if you want to go down to Philly. The staff was very nice. There were several people that work there who have family members living there, which I thought was impressive. One of the people in my group said one of their parents is living there too. They were happy enough with having their parents living there to consider moving there themselves, which I think says a lot. They had games, movies, a gym, and a lot of activities. It all sounded nice, interesting, and fun."

"The majority of the staff that I have met at this facility have been very kind and helpful. The dining room staff are friendly and courteous, the maintenance staff is prompt and does their job well. Doctors or nurses are always available. The building is undergoing renovations and the wing my grandparents live in was recently redone. Every effort was made to easily move them to a different apartment for the duration of the renovation with minimal stress to my grandparents. The move back to their newly renovated apartment was done equally well. The renovated apartment now has updated walk in showers and laundry facilities in the apartment. Two downsides to this particular community. One, there is only one elevator per wing. My grandparents apartment is located directly above the recreation room, however, the elevator to take them there is quite far away. As they don't walk very well, this is an issue. Second, the food leaves something to be desired. I understand the difficulty of providing large quantities of food for three meals daily, however, the food is salty, fatty and reminds me of school lunches. The elderly should have a better food menu. "

"I went to Foulkeways which is a big facility in this area. I liked it. It was very nice. They had a series of buildings that were connected by walkways to the main building. The apartment was almost like a house. I only looked at a one-bedroom, and it has a patio. It was a lovely place. They had all kind of classes and activities, and they take people out. The staff that I met seemed nice enough. The dining area was very nice. In fact, they had a variety of places that you can eat in. I would absolutely recommend this. "
