The Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities Communities in Camden County, NJ

"Evergreens is a beautiful senior apartment. I just viewed the one-bedrooms and their rental was pretty much in my area, but I had to have a large sum of money in holding insurance and I didn't have that. As I walked through the front door, they have an information desk with about three workers there and there was a hallway that you can sit and relax, and on the left side is a cafeteria where you can eat and order your food daily. The elevator will take you up to the second floor where I went to see the first apartment. The one-bedroom apartment had a kitchenette, a living room, a dining area, and a patio, and it was pretty nice. They have shows, a theater, a pool, a game room, an exercise room, a church area, a fitness area, and they have doctors and nurses. Everything was beautifully clean and laid out very well. The staff that I saw working there was very helpful when I asked questions, and they were on their p's and q's of doing their job and they wear uniforms, so I know who they were. They have gorgeous food. When I ate there, I had asparagus and salmon, which were cooked very well. They had potatoes, and they had cheesecake."

"My aunt was in hospice at Watermark. It made her last days very comfortable. The rooms were adequate. The facility was clean, and the staff was attentive. "

"My dad has lived here in Independent Living for 3mos. He had a fall, was hospitalized, then Rehab in another section of the same facility. He will be moving to Assisted Living in the same facility. There is something to be said for continuing care available in one location. He has had very good care while in Rehab and all staff go out of their way to make family members comfortable. The residents are also very friendly and speak highly of this place. I would highly recommend the Fountains at Cedar Parke. "

"I was not so impressed with Medford Leas Health Center. I wasn't shown the best samples. We visited people's homes, which seemed old and tired, but it has a wonderful reputation. People who live there absolutely adore it. I went back twice, and on my second visit, they showed me a room that overlooked what was supposed to be a garden, but there was a dump truck and a pile of rubbish. That didn't impress me too much. Also, their prices are very high, plus you pay taxes. They had some nice units. The common dining room was very nice and classy. The facility has been there for many years and has skilled nursing. It is extremely popular in Medford but it just wasn't for me. It was very quiet when I went there, but they do have a lot of trips and social things going on. "

"The majority of the staff that I have met at this facility have been very kind and helpful. The dining room staff are friendly and courteous, the maintenance staff is prompt and does their job well. Doctors or nurses are always available. The building is undergoing renovations and the wing my grandparents live in was recently redone. Every effort was made to easily move them to a different apartment for the duration of the renovation with minimal stress to my grandparents. The move back to their newly renovated apartment was done equally well. The renovated apartment now has updated walk in showers and laundry facilities in the apartment. Two downsides to this particular community. One, there is only one elevator per wing. My grandparents apartment is located directly above the recreation room, however, the elevator to take them there is quite far away. As they don't walk very well, this is an issue. Second, the food leaves something to be desired. I understand the difficulty of providing large quantities of food for three meals daily, however, the food is salty, fatty and reminds me of school lunches. The elderly should have a better food menu. "

"I went to Simpson House and I inquired about long-term residence for my mom and independent living for myself. The apartments were nice. The halls were quite small, so I'm not sure how you get your furniture in there, but it was really nice. It had a nice atmosphere. The staff was very cordial and very informative. They seem to do pretty much everything, but they have a wait list and the cost is a bit steep. Other than that, it was pretty good."

"It was a very nice environment with great employees. The food was actually not bad and people very very nice. The rooms were spacious and there was television, phone, flowers, toilets, a sink, very nicely painted and quaft walls, a beautiful ceiling, and awe-inspiring windows. The drawers fit very many clothes, as well. It is quite the retirement home with quite the knowledgeable staff. The assited living was very helpful to my wonderful grandmother. She greatly enjoyed it and was helped. The security was fantastic. However, there was once a huge robbery in the building, but oh well.many of the residents were deaf so televisions were very loud! And the security cold assist very well. This place had a lot of parking, too. There was so much parking that even the senior citizens agreed in the abundance. In closing, Paul's Run is a wonderful place with few flaws. It is recommended to live there. "

"The rooms were spacious and clean. Plenty of fresh bedding and temperature controlled in each room. Meals were delicious and many selections on the menu. Staff very courteous and helpful. Always answered the call light promptly and checked frequently to see if assistance was needed"

"We toured Rydal Park, which was an upper-scale facility with all the amenities. They're a clean facility with a warm, friendly, and professional staff. They are a topnotch assisted living facility. The person who gave the tour was thorough, professional, friendly, and quite knowledgeable about assisted living, and all the options available to someone there. I tried the food there, and it was good. They have a smaller seating area which is more like a little dining section, and there's also a full-on dining area that looks like a restaurant. They have a board listed with all the different programs and activities that go on, and I saw people going to and from places. They have a lot of stuff and activities on the premises. They also had beautiful, lush, green seating areas outside; it's calm and just very serene. Everything that I could see in the facility was well-kept."

"Experience was really good at Cathedral Village. I felt the place and overall staff were excellent. The dining facility was the best I have ever seen, and I have eaten there. They have arts and crafts and a wonderful library. The rooms and apartments were very nice, but they are older and their ceilings are low. I would also like to see their marketing staff be more honest instead of just trying to sell. "

"I looked at Waverly Heights. It was very clean and very attractive. They have nice apartments that you can enter without going through a lobby, which was nice. They have fine activities and a number of separate dining places, which were fine too. The facility was well run. "

"Accomodating with the move-in and responsive with repairs. Many activities keep my loved one engaged and vital mentally, socially and physically. Very courteous and respectful dining staff. 2015 physical improvements contribute to outdoors enjoyment. "

"My father is at The Hill at Whitemarsh. It's a very nice facility and very clean. They have security at the front gate, which is very good. Everybody is very nice to him, and they treat him very well. He's really happy, and he's doing very well since being admitted there. The staff are very nice, very professional, and very compassionate. They take really good care of him. The food is excellent. They have an excellent menu for them to choose from. They have lobster bisque. He's very happy. Everybody was very nice to me and very polite to everybody. It's definitely worth it."
