My father-in-law is at Deer Meadows Retirement Community. The PT came out frequently, and they had pain care management provided, which was necessary for him to get walking again, so I feel in that regard, they were very good. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. The menu seems like there's variety. They also give them different alternatives. Like if they don't like a certain protein, they will change it out for fish or chicken. They have activities, they have a barber come in to cut their hair, they have bingo, and they have some different things that they can do. Right now, my father-in-law is covered under Medicare.

I toured the Deer Meadows Retirement Community. It was accommodating. It was comfortable, and the people there seemed very happy to be there. It was pretty clean. It was decent, like I walked into the dining room, I was impressed. I have multiple sclerosis, so I used a rollator. They were very accommodating with letting me in and helping to find someone to help push me around. The dining room was beautiful. It's nice. I love the dining room. I saw the mailbox and activity room. They had a little foyer when you came in, and there's a lot of presents sitting there.

My friend is at the Deer Meadows for rehab. The staff is very accommodating, and she feels comfortable there. They try to accommodate the individual and meet their needs. There are not that many choices when it comes to their food. They have activities but they have a lot of COVID patients so nobody goes through any activities. I like the size of the rooms, it's an old facility but they're fixing it up. There are lots of gathering areas, there's a roomful of different birds or an aviary which is quite large. They have a gym and a courtyard, they also have a big area with a piano and they could go in there.

I toured Deer Meadows Retirement Community for respite care. My dad will be in their memory care. They had a room that was readily available for our timeframe as well as the cost out of pocket. I was very impressed with the secured unit as well as all the amenities that he would be able to have access to as far as activities. My concern was, that while he is home, he's inactive, but that facility has a lot of activities for him to engage in even though he is in a secure unit. I was very impressed with that. A lot of activities were more recreational. There's access to a pool table, there's access to an actual game room, and of course, just having the access to your private TV and things of that sort. A lot of those things pretty much impressed me. The staff were very friendly and very welcoming. I had my son with me when during the tour, and they were very engaging with him. They explained to us that we would still be able to visit my dad during this time. They were friendly and welcoming when he went back for a second tour, so it was very nice. They also explained to us that in the memory care unit, you need a code to get onto the floor and off the floor.

First off my Uncle's case manger,Jamie, is very rude. She is clearly just trying to get more money out of us so she is suggesting things that are unnecessary. My Uncle is clear headed, coherent, and knows what he is saying. He is fine. He doesn't work. He is home all day. We are able to go out and do errands for him. It's not like he is comatose. So we disagree with everything she was suggesting because bottom line he does not need it plus you are asking to drop our whole life, and get snarky when we don't feel comfortable doing it. We can't just drop everything and for something that you are just exaggerating because, again, money. Sorry, Jamie, nice try. She didn't like our answer so she is now threatening us saying she is going to send out protective services to check on him everyday. You are clearly trying to get more money from us through this devastating time and I think it is gross that all you guys think about is how to get more money. Where are the people who actually care?? Who actually knows what's best?? Who can understand how hard it is to make these decisions and then on top of that threatening us because we refuse to help give you a bigger pay day?? Also the nurses there are just as rude. Everytime my Mom would call all she got was nothing but attitude. They get angry at my Mom when she would ask them to repeat what they were saying because she didn't understand them at first, plus my Mom is very hard of hearing. My Uncle is complaining of mistreatment from the nurses and staff members. From what I have gather in these past couple of weeks of my Uncle being there, Deer Meadows is a hot mess. I pray to God that there is some decent staff members because the people we have dealt with nasty, nasty, nasty, nasty people. Don't ever mess with my family. Don't ever talk to my Mom like she's a little kid. How dare you. If unfortunately my Uncle will need extra help again and they suggest Deer meadows we will say no. We refuse to send him or recommend Deer Meadows. Get your ish together!!!!

My sister is currently at Deer Meadows Retirement Community in Philadelphia. We're hoping she passes through physical therapy and goes to assisted living. We've been disappointed. She hasn't made much progress with physical therapy and trying to get basic things done just hasn't gone very well. There were outstanding issues that I only finally know after a few months. The individual staff members that I've talked to seemed to want to help, but with the overall current situation, maybe the COVID causing extra responsibilities, they're shorthanded. My sister would ask for help and there was nobody there to attend to her needs. I was able to visit this place before my sister moved in, but I was focused more on the assisted living aspect at that time. She's currently in skilled nursing. It's probably a fair size room, but it's very crowded when you're in a 36 inch wide wheelchair and my sister has difficulty navigating. She's unhappy with the food, some of it comes in cold. She hasn't been satisfied with the food. They could improve on communication, part of it is communication issues, and certainly responsiveness to the needs of my sister. I suggested when she's new to Pennsylvania, that the doctor evaluate her completely to try and come up with a care plan to improve her health. That request just went to deaf ears; it's not making progress. If they had responded to that my sister might be in a better place. I can't say that I can look at my sister's condition and solve it, but they might be able to improve it. They're currently there taking a maintenance approach, maintaining at where she is, and it doesn't seem like they're making attempts to improve her situation. That's the way it feels. It doesn't mean that's the way it is, but that's the way it feels.

I'm at Deer Meadows Retirement Community, and I hate it here. Today, I have a good nurse and a good aide, but most of the time, especially over the weekend, they treat us like second-hand citizens. Over the weekend, the staff is lousy. We have to wait for our medications, and we don't know who's on. I understand that they have to start from the beginning, which is 100, and I'm at 115. The food is awful. I have a sink in my bedroom instead of having it in the bathroom. I'm getting out of here as soon as my physical therapy is finished. They could improve on the food, but I had a good breakfast this morning. The staff during the week is OK, but on the weekend, they're not. I feel like an inmate in here instead of a resident. They tell us what to do all the time. One nurse said I have to go to bed at a certain time, and I'm a night person. I feel like I'm wasting my money. The only thing good to me about this place is one could go out and smoke anytime they want. All the other places, you can only go five times a day.

We placed my parents at Deer Meadows and are very pleased with it. It seems like a good place. The grounds are OK but not picturesque because it is right on the Boulevard; however, the people who live there seem to be happy. There are lots of aides and staff members available. The place is very clean and very nice. The bedrooms are too small and there are very few closets. However, there is a large kitchen area, a living area, and one-and-a-half bathrooms, which is nice. The price is good for what they're offering.

When you walked in at Deer Meadows, you felt comfortable. The people were very friendly, and my mother was there for rehab. They were very good; the people and the therapist were all wonderful and personable. They have transportation that would take them to places. The rooms were nice.

If care about a love one do not put them in Dear Meadows If your love one gets hurt they will not call 911 .They will call the Hospital and it will take 45minutea to get there You have to ask if your loved one will get a reaction from the drugs they get. My Mother got a physcotic reaction to one of the drugs they gave her and they did nothing. 2:hours later the doctor cameMy Mother could have been in the Hospital or dead i t took 45minutes to put my Mother in the bed..You have to be on top of everything they do They are short sraffed

Deer Meadows is beautiful, and my mother-in-law seems to like it. The price is right for what she wanted. She has an efficiency 1-bedroom with a bath and a little tiny sitting room. They appeared to be fine and had a lot of activities like ceramics and Bingo, you could have animals there, you could have parking if you have a car, and the dining rooms were lit and beautiful.

Deer Meadows has not gone through extensive remodeling and was just taken over by a new company. The way that it was being run was kind of restrictive, and I would not want to live there. There were a lot of different kinds of rooms, and you could enlarge a room by taking two rooms and putting them together to make one, long apartment, and that was very nice. The other rooms ranged from comfortably small to maybe a little too small. I did not get the sense that it was entirely a happy retirement community.

We were on a real tight budget, and Deer Meadows worked out a budget that we can afford. They travel to the local stores, and they take them out to a movie, but there's not as much activity as I thought there's going to be. My mom goes to bingo twice a week, and my dad plays cards once a week. I feel that they're safe there. The staff seems to be on top of things, but they can do more things to make them more active, and someone needs to take a hold of the activities per se and enhance it.

Facility was unkempt. Dietary was sub-standard and the meal was inappropriate for my father's phyical condition. TV was broken in his room. All in all I would stay way

My father was a short term resident at Deer Meadows. Our family could not ask for a better outcome for the care he received. The nursing staff were attentive to all his needs. The Rehab Department was excellent. My father did return once again after a hospital stay and again our family was very pleased his care. The facility is very clean and bright. I would recommend Deer Meadows for the excellent nursing care they provide.
