"I toured Oxford Enhanced Senior Living. The apartments were bright, clean, and spacious. They have a dining-cafeteria area and a library. The upkeep of the community seemed fine to me. The dining area had just been renovated. It wasn't big, but it seemed well-kept. The staff member was new, but he was very knowledgeable."

"My dad moved to Springfield Senior Living. We chose this place because it is close to my home and it was affordable. He has one room with one bathroom. It is pretty big. It's a pretty nice space and it has a balcony. Cleanliness for the most part seems OK. It could always have room for improvement, especially the floor that my dad is on, the second floor. There is a strong urine smell there. They could also improve their communication with the doctor. I've been trying to get some information because my dad has surgery coming up and they haven't given me back the paperwork yet. I'm not even sure he's going to be able to get it because I switched his doctor to their in-house doctor, but since he's just been there about two weeks, it's been kind of difficult to communicate with them. So, his surgery may have to be postponed because they needed their paperwork two weeks before and I still haven't gotten it."

"My sister is at McCallum LLC. It is near our home. The room is fine. My sister likes it too. She has her own bathroom. So far, since she has been there, she has been in the room by herself, but there is a room for one other person. I absolutely recommend this facility. It is a nice community. It is quiet. My sister likes it. "

"Legacy Gardens of Bristol is very nice. There's only 26 tenants in the whole place, so you know your residents are getting cared for because there's only a few people. So the ratio is awesome. They're very nice, I like them a lot, and I would highly recommend it. I love the staff, they're awesome. They're very nice, caring, and helpful. It's an awesome place, they take excellent care of my mother-in-law, and she seems happy there. So it's a win-win situation. I haven't eaten there, but she says that the food is good. It's clean, it's nice, even her hair and nails are neat. They have plenty of activities and stuff for them to do. They have movies, game nights, bingo, and they have music. You get a lot of value for the money and it's affordable. So it's definitely worth it. It's excellent care."

"I moved into Hudson Estates. I chose it because they didn't have any entrance fees and they were very cooperative on how much money was due at the beginning. It's new and I'm very comfortable. Everybody is very cooperative, very helpful, very nice, and very friendly. The rent includes 3 meals, but there are some days when the food is not so good. There's a good selection of activities and there's always something to do. I enjoyed the book club that I went to."

"Pinnacle at Plymouth was brand-new, and it was beautiful. It was like being at a hotel in Atlantic City. It was very busy. It's a place for socially active people. They had a cooking class going on while we were there. They had a separate movie theater. They had a couple of restaurants, and their dining room was beautiful. They had the most beautiful dining room we saw. They also had pubs, where you could go out for cocktails without ever leaving the building. It had everything a socially active person could want. It was a busy place, so it was not for my sister. It would not have been for me either because they were right on the road and the highway, which really shouldn't make any difference. You have those cars zipping by all the time. They had a garden area. It's an outside area on the roof or like a rooftop area where people could do their own gardening if they wanted to. I will say that it was beautiful, and it was perfect for somebody (but it wasn't for us). The staff was good. She was very pleasant, but she seemed like she was in a hurry."

"I toured Fountain View at Logan Square. The community was beautiful. My brother loved it. We loved the atmosphere, the restaurants, the library, the entrance, and how well they treated us when we came there. Even the guy that gave us the tour guide was wonderful. The nurse who came and did his assessment was very pleasant and very kind. However, we were not able to afford it. I thought that we would be able to get the room because I was going to financially help him. However, the money had to be in his account, so he was denied because he didn't have enough income coming in. The staff was wonderful with the tour, but when he set us up for the medical doctor, he gave the impression that my brother could get the studio because it was cheaper, and then by the time we came back, he told me the studio was $4,600. The upkeep was very nice, except they were still under construction, so it was a little messy. However, the rooms I saw that were already ready were very nice."

"My mother and I went to St. Mary Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Lansdale yesterday. We liked it very much, so we're going to enroll there. It was a very nice place. They have a special dementia section and she's going to move into that part, but the whole place was very nice and very clean. They didn't seem to have a lot of staff. It seems like there's a shortage because of COVID. Patients were walking around and they seemed to be engaged, but not active because the people we saw were dementia patients. The indoors are kind of like a circle and the rooms were arranged that way. They couldn't get lost as long as they were in that memory section, which was the Camilla area. They had an outdoor section for them, a very nice dining room, and they had aquariums to look at. There was a book room in the regular section for the residents who had other issues or maybe were just retired. They have a very nice library there. One man had his toy train set up in one of the lounge areas, so that was nice. They let him continue with his hobby and one can bring possessions from home if they're not too large. The rooms were a nice size. They were a little bit bigger than most hospital rooms. Mom will have an armoire, two dresser drawers, and a table for her television. She'll have an in-room telephone, which is extra. The setup is very nice and they were able to get her in right away so that was great, too. They're having a special right now. The $3500 a month is a special rate and that's for any of their units. We walked through the regular part, too. Everything's on one floor, so it is spread out. It's a big campus, but everything is on one floor, which to me is more of a safety thing, especially with old people, of which I am one, because they said a lot of the people there are in their mid-70s. I looked at it as a place for myself in the future and I would go there. I would live there definitely. The staff during the tour was very good. The nurse who spoke with us, Rebecca, I'd give her a 5 also. The paperwork is not overly onerous. They just want to make sure that we understand the limitations of COVID. They don't know what to expect. They don't know what's going to happen next and we have to be willing to accept the risk of what could happen, including food shortages. They even mentioned that in the paperwork and that's honesty because we don't know what's going to happen. They have outdoor spaces even for dementia patients. There's a small area where they can sit outside and it's fenced in with a nice fence. It's not like a prison fence. For the other people, there are plenty of outdoor areas for them to sit."

"Brittany Manor didn't provide respite care services. Going in there, it was more for people who are mentally challenged. Before I went in, there was a resident already asking me for money while I was sitting in my car, and then when I went in, there was another resident who was asking me for money, and food, and whatever I had in my hand. The person who walked me around was a five. My experience trying to confirm that I had a tour was a one or a zero. I called to confirm, and no one seemed to be able to confirm with me that they were aware that I was coming. They said they would get back to me, and no one ever got back to me, so I just wound up showing up, and the person who gave me the tour was very friendly. However, she wasn't necessarily prepared to provide a tour. The place was very disheveled. Whoever owned the place before, that signage was still up there. The facility smelled as soon as I got in the door. The staff pretty much mentioned this is for people who have mental disabilities. The room I saw wasn't dirty. It's just that everything looked old. Everything didn't look like it was maintained properly. That's not a place I would recommend for anybody. It didn't seem like the patients were even well taken care of. The people that I talked to on the phone were not professional in my book, and telling me that you're going to get back to me, and then you still don't get back, that was very concerning."

"I visited Paradise Manor. They were very accommodating and very knowledgeable. The place was clean. It seemed to have everything there that was needed, and it's close to where I live. I believe it's like $1,500 a month. I didn't see many activities. I basically just saw the amenities. It's more of a studio-type environment."

"Everybody at Brookdale Evesham is happy which means a lot. Everyone who works there seems to enjoy their job. Everyone we’ve interacted with is outstanding, nice, and very accommodating. The place is very clean, nice and the activities are outstanding. The food was excellent. We’ve met the chef and they're very transparent."

"My friend likes the appearance. She said it's a friendly community, and she loves the food. They play bingo, puzzles and things, but she was isolated for ten days, so she hasn't done a lot yet. They also got a beauty parlor that's not opened yet, but they have a bus that takes them to doctors' appointments. They have really nice grounds where you can walk outside, and an out back area where they have barbecues in the summertime. It's in a very nice setting. It's a small community, and there's only 26 residents for each of the two buildings. It's very cozy once you get used to it, and it's very nice inside."

"I love Chestnut Ridge, and it is where my father is currently is now. I love the staff and the way they communicate. It is just so wonderful. It's a high-rise building, and the rooms are nice, but the bottom line with everything is the staff. They do have activities, and my dad participates in some of them."
