Nursing Home Communities in Hatboro, PA

"My sister moved up to Phoebe Richland Community. It was very welcoming. They gave her all the physical therapy she could handle, which was great. She had physical therapy almost every day and occupational therapy almost every day when she got there. She still gets it quite frequently. The staff is very nice. She enjoys the other residents there. She says she has a wonderful time getting to know them and they're very caring also. I was there one Saturday when the director himself was helping someone move into their memory care area. He was moving the clothing and stuff in himself on a Saturday. They're just delightful. There's an exercise class of some kind every morning, wheelchair volleyball, chair, or tai-chi. There's at least one activity every morning and one or two activities every afternoon. Every day I call or when I talk to my sister, she'll say, "Oh yes, we had an exercise this morning." It's a smaller place, so they can't offer the diversity of activities that a larger facility might offer. The assisted living has a beautiful lounge area when you walk in. The dining room is lovely. You couldn't ask for anything better. I get no complaints from my sister except there's no salt, but she can bring some herself. That's for health reasons. I saw two small library reading areas, a game room, a big lounge, and a dining room. She's in a temporary room right now because there were no rooms available, so it's a little small but very nice and furnished. It has a dresser, a wardrobe, a chair, a bed, a little kitchenette, and a beautiful bathroom that's handicapped accessible. It is less expensive than others for definitely something better. Their staff is especially caring. This place is much more consistent with their staffing, which means the staff gets to know their people better."

"I got the name of this facility from a friend who had a relative staying there. It's a newer facility, about ten years old and they work with different insurance companies. It's clean and well run. The staff is attentive and the food is decent. They have a regular schedule to keep the residents active and occupied. The rooms are basic, but comfortable, with a bed, dresser, television, and night stand. The grounds are pleasant and quiet with each room having a nice view. My mother was there for a few weeks before her final hospitalization and, while she preferred her independence, this place attended to her needs quite well and made her as comfortable as possible. They even took her religious beliefs into account and made arrangements for someone from the church to administer to her particular religious exercise. They are also sensitive to various religious beliefs. Considering the seriousness of her condition, it made me feel good to know that she was in this facility and would recommend it to others. "

"The staff at Luther Woods makes it very special. My mother gets wonderful, compassionate care there. We feel like the people there really care. The nursing staff is excellent, the aides are so attentive, we feel very comfortable with her being there. Foid and facilities are also top notch. "

"I was at Powerback last year after my stroke. I visited them at the beginning of October and stayed there for about three weeks. They had CNAs and they were very lazy. The food was great. You get to pick what you want. They have journaling, music and bingo. They had other things for people to do. We're not to get lazy there. "

"I am certain that a lot of people would expect to hear horror stories from the care received while in any care facility. Might I first start off, by saying that when I arrived at Garden Spring center, I was just recently declared dead. Again. The previous facility I was in went through this with me on more than one occasion, in the same stay. Please note.. I have a nasty attitude towards authority, and anyone who thinks they know me, better than I do. Of course, when unable to fend for oneself, this becomes exactly the environment I found myself in. From day one, the focus was on recovery. Yes, some of the instructions I was given seemed beyond my capabilities, and I gave them a hassle trying new things for the first time. After all, my confidence was at an all time low... I could not speak correctly, nor could I properly put pen to paper to express my needs. They helped me not only recover, make new friends, and learn how to aid myself in a bad situation (should it arise again), they also watched me WALK out of the facility. They provided me with aftercare specialists, and made sure I had medication enough for the transition to my primary doctor. While in the facility, I noticed each staff member working as hard as they could to get things done. While conversation was not always available, it was because the staff were busy working. All I can say, is I went in dead, and walked out...... without so much as a personal hassle inside. When I call back, I get friendly responses, and many staff remember me, even if I forgot some of them, either due to being near dead, or just a time lapse in my brain. Their conflict resolution is above average in my opinion, as I had many an issue (see above authority issues). They are willing to talk, and negotiate with the needs of the residents, rather than saying it is their way or no way. I can't say how much it means to me, that I went in a lost cause, and now I have life, and the ability to be confident, if I should find myself in a position to be cared for again, that this facility has the means, and the attitude, to send me happy and healthy back to the world I came in from. "

"My parents spent their whole lives in the Detroit area. They didn't want to move too far away if and when they needed care. After my mother passed and my father needed care I found a beautiful place called Renaissance Gardens in Dearborn, Michigan. I started using their respite care to give myself a little time and my dad a little social interaction. Their programs are reasonable,easy to enroll in, and are enjoyable for the residents. The grounds are well cared for and beautiful to look at. When it came time for my father to need help he couldn't receive living at home, he was still active enough to not want to just sit around in a room all the time. The wonderful staff at Renaissance Gardens put him at ease by showing him the apartment style accommodations. He loved the community areas such as the pool and hobby shop. I was put at ease when I learned more about the way they would meet his needs and make sure he got the health guidance he needed. You don't trust your loved ones to just anyone. I trusted Renaissance Gardens with the man I love most. "

"My sister is moving into Southampton Estates. She's going in with independent living, but it is total care. She wanted a place that had total care so she would not have to move again. It is a beautiful place, and everyone is friendly. She is looking forward to moving in. The staff are very, very nice, very friendly, and very helpful. They have a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom. They're renovating two efficiencies into an apartment for her. They have a whole list of everything that they offer there. They also can take her to the doctors or food shopping. They get one meal a day. She'll have her own kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room, and it's all very, very nice. They have doctors and specialists that come in periodically. They also have doctors on call. She is free to come and go, and free to have anybody who wants to come and visit. They could not have been more accommodating. It is very easy to get around the facility itself."

"Christ Home is a new facility, which is only about 3 years old. It's beautiful, and the people were extraordinarily nice. It's pretty small, and it's very nice for somebody that requires one-person transfer for everything. "

"The Manor is placed off of huntingdon pike and far enough away that you don't hear the traffic driving by, but close enough that it is not a far walk to catch a bus. Parking is easy at this facility visitor and residents have plenty of spaces. The land scaping adds to the surrounding area with a small bridge and lots of green plants and bushes. Inside the building it layed out very nicely and easy to navigate threw. The residents always have been happy and welcoming during the visits I have made. Many residents feel comfortable enough to leave their apartment doors open and their neighbors peak in and say ""Hi"" from time to time. The part I like most about this building is the cottage style homes behind the many building. They are more private but still close enough for every to get together. The cottages are much larger then the apartments and are laid out much like a large U shape. Over all it is a quite comfortable place to live with everything you would need close by. "

"My mother-in-law is already in Masonic Village at Warminster. It's been very good. They're taking good care of her, and they're attending to her needs. The food is delicious. She likes the food. We've only had problems with one staff member, she and my mother-in-law were butting heads, so they put her on the other side of the building. They transferred her. We have had no problem with any of the other staff. It's a very nice place. It's clean and nice. They have a couple of courtyards, and they have a salon there, they have like a gift shop where they can go and buy things for themselves. There is a lot of stuff there. They're planning trips out, so that's good. She doesn't get to go much because she's very old, but I think it's a nice place. They keep in good communication with us when something happens. They give us an update on how she's doing and things like that. She gets physical therapy right now. But when it runs out for Medicare, it stops. But when she's going to physical therapy, she's thrilled because it's something to do. They have a lot going on there for the people. However, it is very expensive. Do I think the value for the money is worth it? No."

"All the folks at Brookside are always quite cordial and ask if you need their assistance. The PT and OT provided by numerous therapists are top notch! Doctors, nurses, nurse aides, front desk ,social serivces and appointment scheduling departments are all truly caring individuals who provide family members with up to date information in a timely manner. Only the food needs to be a little more enticing however, this is an excellent facility for Nursing and Rehab. "

"I have a friend who lives in Rydal Park. This lady gets one meal a day there. They have little houses for people who want to live in houses. It's very posh, very nice, and very pretty. I think you almost feel like you're in a hotel. I think for day-to-day living, it's fine. It's very good, but for nursing care and that kind of thing, I don't think it is good. The staff members are very nice in general. Food is excellent. There is a good variety, and it's served nicely. They have a couple of different dining areas, and they're all very pretty. It's a beautiful place. Parking is terrible, though. Everything else is fine except for parking. They don't have enough parking. I ended up parking at a shopping center nearby."

"My husband is currently at St. Joseph Manor. It is conveniently located to me, his son, and his childhood friends. His room is a good size. It's bright and sunny. It's got a nice view. The facilities are very, very clean. The staff has all been wonderful to him, to me, and to his visitors. The food is very good and he likes it. They are doing a good job. They are most excellent. Right now, he's a little bit limited, but he does physical therapy twice a week, and they also have games and activities."
