A few of the staff were compassionate and caring Ward nurse was at all times uninterested and poorly informed about my mother’s status. She obviously did not read notes Mom was mostly bed bound. I had a sign over her bed requesting that she be repositioned. She never was. Hence pressure sores It took two months of my requesting to have her food pureed. The workers would leave the tray in her room and I’d come in and she would be covered in food. Even though I left disposable bibs for her More times than not she’d be in a dirty diaper My mother was there 4 months. I Repeatedly asked for a tv remote. Never received Clock on wall broken. I brought in my own battery but did not work. My 97 year old mother spent most days staring at the wall with no interaction She went on hospice in early November until her passing on 12/24 and thankfully had additional care Many days and I visited every day I would help an aide change and clean her Now I am trying to get a refund for the last 7 days of December. I have been told for almost 2 months that “it’s coming”. I will be relentless in getting my money back I feel like I did a great disservice to my beloved mother putting her in Luther Woods. The first couple of weeks they put on an act and it quickly changed. My mom had severe dementia had I been able to I would have cared for her at home I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND LUTHER WOODS TO ANYONE

I cannot say enough good things about Luther Woods rehab center. My father went here following a bad experience with another rehab after hip replacement surgery. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and kind. My father’s team communicated with one another and the family about his progress and needs. They had appropriate equipment and furniture for someone with orthopedic needs. The nursing staff stayed on top of his medicine and made sure that he did not have a fever (or complications). The grounds are full of trees, flowers and birds. The hallway is bright and there is always a mix of music playing softly (1930’s up). The rooms are double rooms but the administration worked to keep my father’s room a single since that is what he preferred. The social worker called a week after my father got home to make sure that his home rehab was going as planned. The facility is older and the food is not fancy but if your goal is to get your loved one back on his/her feet in a caring manner, this is the place!

The staff at Luther Woods makes it very special. My mother gets wonderful, compassionate care there. We feel like the people there really care. The nursing staff is excellent, the aides are so attentive, we feel very comfortable with her being there. Foid and facilities are also top notch.

Luther Woods is very clean, just a very nice atmosphere. It had come highly recommended and it was very convenient to where we lived when we have to run back and forth.

We chose Luther Woods for mom because of its location. The staff is very good and the facility itself is very good too. The rooms are not too bad in regards to their size; it's a twin bedroom basically. They do pretty well with regards to the food.
