I'm in Crescent Fields at Huntingdon Valley. When I first came here in the beginning, everything was very, very good. I was a little disappointed they didn't have a lot of activities, but that got better. Recently, we've been going through a management upheaval. We are currently looking for a new resident manager or resident director, and they're also looking for a new chef. I think they're having some hiring problems. Even though I haven't experienced it, I understand that personal care has some issues, too. I decided on a studio, which is big enough for a good-sized bed, but I decided to put in a couch bed, and it's plenty of space. It has a washer and dryer. The only thing it's limited on is closet space, but they have a storage room on the fourth floor, and they don't charge you for the storage room. The rooms are very spacious. The one-bedrooms are very spacious. I think the efficiency has plenty of space. I decided on a first-floor apartment, so I even have patio access, and it's very, very nice. I love the apartment. The only ones that have balconies are the end units. If you're on the second, third, and fourth floors, there are end units, and they are two-bedroom apartments. They run a little higher. If you're on the first floor, every first-floor apartment has a patio. We have a new activity director who came in this winter, and they have scheduled outside activities. They bring in a guy who helps us with Tai Chi, they bring in a Zumba instructor, and they have fitness almost every other day of the week for movement. They have a beautiful movie theater. They have a pub bar for happy hour or if you want to have a party in there. Across from that is a big arcade area where kids come to visit. There's a pool table and a ping pong table. There are a lot of things here that you don't find in most places, that's why I chose this place. I need drivers to go to doctor's appointments, and the service is very good with that. They have an outdoor balcony on the second floor with a garden. It's a wonderful environment. They're just going through some really difficult times right now with replacing managers. I've always liked it here. The food could be better, but I think everybody's kind of going through that phase with the price of food going up, and adapting to individual need menus is very hard. They have a very good group of kids who are our servers. They have entertainment in here usually once a week, like a singer of some sort. The activity director is trying to get a little bit more nighttime activity. They have bingo, a mahjong group, a canasta group, a nice library club, and a beautiful library. They have an activity room on the second floor where they have bingo and stuff like that. They have an exercise room on the third floor. The library is very, very handy. There's a lot of space, so if you leave your room, you have a lot of places to go to. We are right now doing a surge of residents. A lot of new people are moving in, which is good. It was the first place I went to, to review when I was moving, and nothing else compared. It hit it out of the ballpark. I didn't want to buy in, so it was more reasonable. It was a good size and had a nice group of people. It's been very good. I'm lucky enough to get along well with everybody, staff-wise. Unfortunately, food is more like a 3 because of the lack of a chef. It's very clean, and everything that I need fixed can get fixed pretty quickly. I wanted to have access to the outside, which this has. They have some beautiful spots for even walking. I wanted to be very safe, and I feel very safe here. It's a nice place to live.

I'm moving into Crescent Fields at Huntingdon Valley. I love it, and it's the most reasonable one out of all of them. You only pay $3,000 to put a down payment, and then you pay $6,000 a month for a two-bedroom. They only had two-bedrooms left, and I got one. It's a nice size, and it's beautiful. Everything is really nice, so I'm very happy. Everything is included. They have three meals a day, they have entertainment, they have a movie theater, they have a private dining room, and they do trips. I had lunch there. I can't say it was the best, but it's OK. Nevertheless, they were very courteous and very caring to all their people. I don't really know any of the staff members other than the salespeople and the girls at the front desk, but the kitchen people were very, very sweet. They're very pleasant, very cheerful, very nice, and willing to help you. Everything was immaculate, too.

I visited Crescent Fields at Huntingdon Valley. It's very modern. They had different areas to sit in and a beautiful inside and out. Very relaxing, beautifully decorated, the food was very good. They said it was the food they were serving in the cafeteria and we were able to sample that. They had an arcade room, a playroom, a music room, and a library. They said there are lots of activities for independence. They only touched on the levels of care, which most of us know because it's new; it just opened. I would say, within the year. It was very nice. The staff was very helpful. There was a group of us and there were maybe about half a dozen staff, so they were available to ask any questions. I listened, and I only had a couple of questions, and it was all very positive.
