The common areas and rooms are beautiful. Looks like a 5 star resort. Whoever decorated this place did an amazing job!! My MIL loves living here and is always raving over how loving and supportive the staff are. She tells us the nurses and CNA's really do love their patients. We've had dinner with her multiple times and the food is very good. She tells us their is activities just about if not every day. I'm really impressed with this place and so is my MIL who lives here.

We toured Rydal Park, which was an upper-scale facility with all the amenities. They're a clean facility with a warm, friendly, and professional staff. They are a topnotch assisted living facility. The person who gave the tour was thorough, professional, friendly, and quite knowledgeable about assisted living, and all the options available to someone there. I tried the food there, and it was good. They have a smaller seating area which is more like a little dining section, and there's also a full-on dining area that looks like a restaurant. They have a board listed with all the different programs and activities that go on, and I saw people going to and from places. They have a lot of stuff and activities on the premises. They also had beautiful, lush, green seating areas outside; it's calm and just very serene. Everything that I could see in the facility was well-kept.

DO NOT move anyone in your family to this place! DO NOT be fooled by any positive reviews or by anyone who says that Rydal Park is a nice place to live! It's fine if your 60 years old and in good health and in good shape. But, if you're not, forget about it-the staff IS HORRENDOUS! Most of them are rude, incompetent, and THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR RESIDENTS! Please heed my warning-YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU MOVE A RELATIVE TO RYDAL PARK!

Do not place your loved one at Rydal Park; the patient care in the "memory care" section is beyond unacceptable - the general incompetence among the nursing staff and lack of empathy shown by most of the nurses is disturbing to say the least. I wouldn't even call it memory care as the nurses here appear to have zero training in dementia care - they have no special skills and beyond that don't even seem to possess a natural ability to interact with and care for people with dementia in a positive way. They don't treat my loved one as an actual person with feelings and emotions. The general attitude displayed among the nurses is that because a person with dementia can't communicate or show understanding in the same way that you can, they don't feel anything either. This is not a place centered on patient dignity for those with dementia. Ensuring that your loved one receives proper medical attention, let alone basic positive human interaction, kindness, or communication from nursing staff, is a constant battle. Everything is a fight and any requests or concerns from the family are met with defensiveness, arguments, and general combativeness from the nurses. There is an excuse for everything, including blaming the patient, and no accountability among the staff. Nurses make no attempts to find solutions or address concerns in a positive way. Communication among the nurses is horrible, no one ever seems to know what is going on, and no one thinks it is important to develop and follow through with individual care plans. If you don't advocate for your loved one they will be treated poorly and medical needs will be ignored by and large, including basic hygiene. If you do advocate be prepared that everything will be a fight, and you will see little to no improvement or understanding from the nursing staff. You will be met with blank stares or an argument at every turn from floor nurses to nursing managers. The substandard care here is degrading for the patient, and mentally and emotionally exhausting for the family member trying to make sure their loved one is not neglected and treated poorly. If you are looking for proper social attention, skilled communication, medical knowledge and real care for your loved one with dementia, you will not get it at Rydal Park memory care. I am writing this for anyone else who is considering Rydal Park memory care, do not put your loved one here!!!

My good friend has lived at Rydal Park and could not be happier. The staff did a tremendous job during the start of the pandemic. They were cautious and so helpful to the residents who were missing their other family members. Rydal Park was very accommodating and use all safety precautions possible. They are friendly, personable, and always make us feel welcome. Greet job, Rydal Park!!

I visited Rydal Park. I was pleased with the apartments and the available amenities. The staff was friendly, courteous, very professional, and knowledgeable. They have a library, a movie theater-type room, and an exercise room. I just saw the property manager, and she was very friendly and outgoing. It's very attractive. I'm sure it would interest a lot of people. You can't live there as independent without buying into the healthcare piece. That's why it's not for me. Once you go through the application process, that's the next step. You talk about your financial obligations and the healthcare piece goes along with it. Even though I'm independent and I don't need those healthcare services, it's still a part of their requirements for living there.

I was a resident of their rehab facility 3 years ago. I am still having nightmares about the place. I can't say that the care was poor. I can say that it was non-existant. If I pressed the call button, someone came in about a half hour or more. Although there were a few pleasant staff people, the majority were uncaring and even cruel. There were no activities in the rehab bldg. And no one offered to take me to a bldg. where there were activities. Between PT sessions, I was very bored. I was also depressed, but no one dealt with that. They just worked at making me more depressed. I can go on and on. I was so glad to go home. And I felt so sorry for the people who were permanent residents. Since being at home, I have met many other residents and family members who felt as I did. I don't know how this place is allowed to remain open.

The treatment of people in the Rydal rehab center is deplorable. It is particularly bad in the evening and night. Trying to get information is difficult to impossible. Do not put anyone you care for in this place.

I'm now living in Rydal Park. It's pretty good. I'm happy here. They have a lot of activities, but because of the COVID-19 dilemma, everything is shut down. I didn't expect much better food. There's an indoor track that I use regularly every day. The staff is very nice and very welcoming. They have a housekeeper who comes here once a week and cleans the apartment. They supply us with washing machines and dryers and dishwashers.

Horrible. Nighttime nurses and staff neglect these poor elderly and sick people. I can’t believe this is allowed. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!

Rydal is decent for residents in Independent Living who can take care of themselves but once in Assisted Living the level of care drops considerably. I have had to continually advocate for my parents once they began losing cognitive ability and for issues that should have been handled by the Rydal staff as a matter of course. The Medical Center is adult day care with the bare minimum of medical service being provided. As an example I visited my Father last Winter (pre-covid) in the Medical Center and he was still in his pajamas in bed at 1:30pm. He had PT scheduled for 1:00 but the staff didn't come for him until 1:45. I have learned from my experience at Rydal that residents will need to have relatives ready and able to be involved and advocate for their elders. I would not recommend Rydal Park.

Nursing home has private baths with showers. Others I've visited just had toilets and sinks. Rehab stays are short but staff explained the medicare process to me and helped arrange hone care therapy for afterwards.

Please. I beg you ignore this facility. Do not use this rehab. 2.5 Days to obtain pain medication. Floors, windows, lamps are filthy. Staff act as though you are imposing on them when you would like something done. Supplies ordered, none followed up. 4 days later i check .A clerk decided to cancel the order. If you would like to be a supervisor of your loved one's care, this is the place. You will work there for free.

My mom stayed at Rydal Park of Philadelphia, and when it first started out, it had an excellent reputation. The ratings have dropped. They didn't have enough staff, and they were not conscientious about the patients whether they were sick or not. I had to tell them to do an x-ray because my mother kept coughing because she had pneumonia. The food is not bad, but since you had to wait so long, it got cold. The way it was set up architecturally was not conducive to the kind of work they do there. You can't see what's going on down on one end or the other end because of the curbs in the building. There was one time when it appeared that there was nobody around for two hours. You could drop dead due to a stroke and nobody would be there. I would never send my mother there again.

My experience at Rydal Park was very nice, but it's more expensive than what my parents could afford. The tour was very nice. They've got independent living and assisted living. It's a very upscale place and pretty formal. When you go for dinner, you have to get dressed up, and it tended to be pretty pricey. I have nothing bad to say about the place, but it didn't fit my parents' budget. The apartments were small, but it's on a high-end scale.

We visited Rydal Park and it was beautiful. We just can't afford to sell our house right now and make a profit so we're going to wait a couple of years.

First impressions are important, and I have to say I had a good one of this place. It has a very neat, clean, and comfortable appearance and feel. My family member who resides here has been in several different areas of the home, and no matter where he is, or what level of care he is under, I feel the same way. The staff here that we have come into contact with is also very kind and willing to help. We also appreciate the number of activities and the amenities that are available to him. In fact, there are times that I'd like to take part in the activities we see fliers for! Another perk is simply the location of this facility. It is easily accessible to people coming from many different directions, and is also located beside a small shopping center with a grocery store and a bank. So, in general, we have been very pleased with Rydal Park.

I only wish there was a rating of less than one star. Rydal Park Inpatient facility is old and rundown with poor service and we had an overall terrible experience. There is an unbelievable lack of communication with the staff and administration. When you are admitted you are given no information as the daily routine and services and it is more than difficult to get answer to any questions. And God help the poor patient that does not have family to handle the daily problems that you WILL encounter. While there were a few good nurses and assistants, the majority of the staff did not appear to care about the patients or their therapy. Additionally, the patient rehab area has a very institutionalized atmosphere. Our family is currently dealing with a different rehab facility and the difference between the two is night and day. While we knew we were having many difficulties with Rydal Park, we truly did not realize how bad the quality of Rydal Park's services were until we saw what a rehab center SHOULD be. Please do not take your loved one here "“ there are MUCH better options.
