"My husband is in a nursing home. He is in Masonic Village. He is getting nursing care there. It's wonderful! It's terrific! He got very good care. The staff is very patient and very attentive. He is in a room by himself and he has a TV, a couple of chairs and a big closet. It is a very large room. He has everything he needs. This place is really great. "

"I probably would give 5 stars to The Hill at Whitemarsh, but it is very expensive. However, that was what I was looking for: assisted living for my mother. It was beautiful. It had all the bells and whistles. "

"I have been a resident at Cathedral Village for the past five years and am glad that I made the move. Being in my seventies when I moved in, the home that I had lived in for almost forty years became too large for me to handle. It was a chore to keep the house functioning and my wife and I made the decision to downsize. Cathedral Village offers us the ability to live independently while still providing a safety net that we need. It is great not to have to worry about things breaking in the apartment, having to cut the grass or best of all not to have to shovel the snow. I was even surprised to find out that the facility cleaned the snow off of my car for me when it snowed. All of the things that I was struggling to keep up with in my home are now easy to get done. I also have use of all of the facilities that I used to have to have a gym membership for. I am thoroughly enjoying the decision that I made with my wife to move to this location. "

"I looked at Waverly Heights. It was very clean and very attractive. They have nice apartments that you can enter without going through a lobby, which was nice. They have fine activities and a number of separate dining places, which were fine too. The facility was well run. "

"At Beaumont at Bryn Mawr, they would deliver your dinner to your room like a hotel. They have a small, elegant dining room instead of a large cafeteria. They have the usual activities like fitness, swimming, library, and other things. It is an old mansion that has an organ, so they put on organ concerts. Their apartments were big with eastern and southern exposures and large decks. What impressed me was that people and the fact that I could treat it like a hotel room with room service. "

"I didn't have to put out a whole lot of money when I first came in here at Phoebe Wyncote. They care about people and helping people. My room is very neat. They come and clean it, make up my bed, and do my laundry. They do all of that. The staff is very nice, very friendly, and very accommodating. They have bingo, church service, reading rooms, games, and exercises. They have a lot of activities."

"I went to Simpson House and I inquired about long-term residence for my mom and independent living for myself. The apartments were nice. The halls were quite small, so I'm not sure how you get your furniture in there, but it was really nice. It had a nice atmosphere. The staff was very cordial and very informative. They seem to do pretty much everything, but they have a wait list and the cost is a bit steep. Other than that, it was pretty good."

"It had excellent accommodations. The food was a hit. They had a little concert room for stage shows or concerts that was not just a converted room or living room. "

"Spring House Estates was the least expensive. I think it was one of the older ones, but it was still very nice. The apartments were maybe just a little smaller. I had lunch there, and it was very good. They didn't have a pool, but then they said you can use the pool at the YMCA without any charge (which was nice). They said it's a nice YMCA. I didn't go there, but it's a fairly new one that's nearby. They will take you there in their little shuttle, and they also use that shuttle to take you to doctor's appointments, shopping, or the train station if you want to go down to Philly. The staff was very nice. There were several people that work there who have family members living there, which I thought was impressive. One of the people in my group said one of their parents is living there too. They were happy enough with having their parents living there to consider moving there themselves, which I think says a lot. They had games, movies, a gym, and a lot of activities. It all sounded nice, interesting, and fun."

"Gwynedd Estates is close to my home. It's very clean, the staff seems very attentive, and it's really affordable. They also offer activities for the residents, provide transportation to the mall or the grocery store, and they even have a doctor on site and a bank on site. "

"My visit at Normandy Farms Estates was great. People are very welcoming and very willing to include you, and that was nice. I think the facility itself is very nice. There are several different kinds of apartments that you could get. The food is really good. They do different kinds of things. They have many committees that people are active in. They also have pool exercises and some fitness classes. They have lots of music activities and lectures. "

"I visited Rydal Park. I was pleased with the apartments and the available amenities. The staff was friendly, courteous, very professional, and knowledgeable. They have a library, a movie theater-type room, and an exercise room. I just saw the property manager, and she was very friendly and outgoing. It's very attractive. I'm sure it would interest a lot of people. You can't live there as independent without buying into the healthcare piece. That's why it's not for me. Once you go through the application process, that's the next step. You talk about your financial obligations and the healthcare piece goes along with it. Even though I'm independent and I don't need those healthcare services, it's still a part of their requirements for living there."

"If I had the money, I would move into Foulkeways Gwynedd tomorrow. But it is too expensive for me; otherwise, it is a wonderful community. I have friends who live there, and I would be very comfortable with the people. I like their philosophy, and the food is excellent. It is a very nice place, and they have lots of things. They are redoing a lot of their apartments, and everything is 1-story, so everybody has a patio, which is really nice. They were designed like that, so that you are not walking down long hallways or covered walkways. If you need assistance getting back and forth to the dining room, somebody would come with a golf cart or anything, but it gets you outside each day. That is their philosophy, and I really like that idea."
