"Foulk Living has been caring for my parents like family! Their rooms are comfortable. The food is delicious and plentiful. But the best part about Foulk Living is the staff! My mother has dementia and has been at Foulk Living for over a year. Her nurses treat her with respect and dignity. She is dressed and clean. They interact with her to stimulate her brain. They love her in our absence. My father was brought to Foulk Living after rehab for a broken hip. Sadly, he was too weak to recover from his surgery. The staff at Foulk were so attentive to my father’s needs in his final days. Not only did they care for him, they cared for us as his family. We were encouraged to spend as much time with our father as we felt necessary. They made sure we ate and explained everything that was happening every step of the way. They even made sure that my mom was brought to my dad’s side so that they can have time together. They love my family and care for them physically as well as emotionally. Never did I expect the level of care and love we have experienced! Foulk Living and the staff are top notch. We could not have asked for a better partner in taking care of our parents during the difficulties of their lives!! Thank you Foulk Living for loving my parents and caring for us all!!!"

"We toured Millcroft Living. It was excellent. The staff was excellent. They were very spacious. They were very luxurious, but we couldn't afford them, so we moved on. They had a lot of activities for the elders. They showed us around. They had a little lounge and a little happy hour area. They had a communal area where everyone could be together. It was a beautiful place."

"I toured Freedom Village at Brandywine. It's a very pleasant environment for the residents. It does have varied amenities there, both indoors and outdoors. The staff was very pleasant, very helpful, and very informative. It was very clean, and they had a very efficient cleaning staff because I noticed them working around the building."

"We toured the Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line, and the residents were all very friendly and very involved in their activities of the day. They offered me lunch so I could sample the food. The apartments were all lovely and large. They were not the most expensive. They are cheaper than the other facilities. Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line is my number one choice. I'm hoping to get in there. It's nestled next to a golf course. It must be incredibly lovely during the summer. The staff was very nice. Everywhere we went, someone was cleaning. We went into people's apartments because they didn't have anything open at the moment, and they said, "Oh, I love living here. It's wonderful. Look at the view I have." I liked it, and it felt like home."

"We live at The Quadrangle, and we are extremely happy. We are in a cottage. We've been here for eight years. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We have all the support we need for any problem that we have. This is a physically beautiful community with 70 acres of woodland. We have trails around. I ride an electric cart, and I can ride all around the fire road. We have a pond. We have very active activities, all organized by the residents. The Quadrangle emphasizes the life of the mind. Most of our residents are highly educated, formerly people in education and business. We have a common dining room, and we have a grill, and you can eat at either place. You have to have reservations for the dining room. It's very elegant. We think the food is wonderful, it's healthy, and has many choices. Since we live in a cottage and my husband and I are still well and in good health, we generally get our dinner and bring it back to the cottage so that we can eat privately. We have just undergone an extensive internal renovation of the facility, and this summer, there will be an external renovation of more plantings and more designs. We have over 70 activities."

"We looked at Wesley Enhanced Living at Stapeley. The tour was excellent. We had dinner there with some residents, and we liked it. The staff who gave the tour was extremely knowledgeable about the facility. The apartments looked appropriately spacious. The dining area was attractive, and the food was tasty. The facility seemed well maintained."

"My mother will be moving into Kendal-Crosslands Communities. We just really liked it for a whole number of reasons. The range of services and the interactions we've had with the staff have all been extremely good. It seemed very warm and inviting and my mother was quite taken with their gardens. I like the quality of the staff and the convenience of it because it's very close to me and that was very important. I like the dining environment, and the staff just seemed very attentive. The upkeep seemed excellent. My mother enjoyed the food. One of the dining areas overlooks a patio and it's really beautiful. The gardens there were very nice, so the dining areas were very comfortable and scenic."

"The place is nice, however it is a little run down (Pocopson). The food is alright; I have eaten there before with my Grandfather. The staff are very nice people and are friendly with the residents. However, it has a weird smell to the place and the rooms aren't all that great. You can tell they were cheaply made. There are many events such as Bingo there every weekend, and they have a nice place where you can sit down / watch TV when you are eating. They serve lots of things there, and they do put some effort into the cooking. When it is warm outside, residents can sit outside and have a smoke or read the paper. It's a nice green lawn with a small garden and some big trees. Going back inside, the lobby area is pretty small as well. The place has big locked doors in a lot of places so the residents can not get out unless you sign them out and they are healthy enough to leave. "

"I visited Country House. It has an independent living. It used to be assisted living, but they've added a great big addition to it and put cottages out front. I didn't get to see any of the rooms. However, the whole layout of the place was pretty nice because they had underground parking. As far as I know, it was really good on that. The amenities were not the same as the other place, though."

"I live in Cokesbury Village. I have lived in this place for 10 years. It's for about 400 people, and they have everything from independent residents to health care residents. I have a small cottage. We have apartments in the main building and cottages of various sizes, smaller ones and 3-bedroom cottages. There is a wide variety. We are very pleased with the staff. Right now, we can't do anything, but they have a lot of gymnastics and things like that, a lot of music, movies, groups that come in to entertain us, and lots of lectures. It is a very lively community, but right now, we are very careful. We have a wonderful library. The library is really one of the highlights, and it is one of the best that I have seen anywhere. We have a small swimming pool and a fitness room, and in both of them, only one or two people are allowed at the same time. They are planning to build an extra large kind of indoor tennis room. We have wonderful grounds with lots of gardening. There's a wide selection of food and quite a bit of meatless like vegetarian meals. It's a little bit more expensive than many others, but I think the facility is wonderful."

"My grandmother was a resident at Brackenville Center for almost 5 years before she passed away. I had the experience of her admission shortly before the transition from a Franciscan center to Genesis Health Care. I've also worked in several long term care facilities. No center is absolutely perfect but I have to give Brackenville a 5 - star rating because the entire staff, from administrators to health care staff to dietary to maintenance, each and every one of them do their best to give some amount of personal attention to each short term guest or long term resident. Are there opportunities for improvement? Absolutely! My grandmother was very vocal about what she did and didn't like. The care conferences were useful to work out some of her personal quirks and of course, her real needs. I would absolutely recommend Brackenville Center to anyone looking for a new "home" for their family."

"My relative is being well cared for. I'm impressed by the number of staff on duty at all times no matter what day or time I visit. They are caring and make sure the residents have whatever they need. I'm good the food is good. It looks good, but due to Covid I haven't been able to have a meal there. The place is always spotless."

"My mother-in-law was at Regal Heights Healthcare & Rehab Center. They do rehab. They have doctors on staff. They have a rehab facility. At that time, my mother-in-law had problems with her legs. She had specialized care in the rehab for her legs, and they did a great job there. The facility was well maintained. They checked on her all the time. The food was like in old nursing homes. It was mediocre because you had to feed hundreds of people. So it's not a gourmet restaurant. My mother-in-law's room was pretty nice. We got her in on the long-term care Medicaid."

"My mom stayed in Regal Heights Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center for rehab. She likes it because we visited two other facilities, and this was the biggest facility. It's like a three-section facility, three wings, first floor. She doesn't have to worry about going to the second or third floor. Everything is on the first floor, and she loves it because it's a huge facility. The first two weeks, it was hard for her because she had swelling in her legs, but by giving her medication properly and by feeding her in a timely manner, it was after the two weeks to probably around the third week, she started doing rehab. She is doing fine. Family members who've gone to visit my mom can't believe the number of staff they have to assist with the residents at that facility. My mom is eating everything. I've been with her a few times during her breakfast and a few times during lunch, and she eats everything and says the food is good. Every morning, they give their residents a printed copy of what the facility's doing today, and they do it daily. They have numerous activities that they give to their residents."

"Stonegates was absolutely outstanding, but very expensive. The apartments were great. They're laid out very well and they're oriented to the community they're trying to serve. The staff member was great. She knew what she was doing and she had a great facility. They have everything. They have cards and guest lectures. The food was wonderful and the dining area was set up like a restaurant. It's like a five-star resort."

"Having a mother in a similar facility. In a million years I never dreamed I would incur the same circumstances. Placed here at Manor Care-Pike Creek was alarmingly depressing to me at first. Although necessary for my recovery I had a preconceived connotation. About nursing homes, I felt all nursing homes were substantially substandard, under staffed. And smelled of urine and other horrific unidentifiable oders. I was truly surprised. The staff here greeted me with warmth and such care. They truly were concerned about my recovery and care. Every now and then the halls were filled with laughter and sounds of children visiting family. The nursing staff attentive to my every need. As well as the CNA's I never had to wait or ask twice for anything. Every one went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. I really cannot express how truly unappreciative I am to evetyone. If I named one I would have to name evetyone. From the Director, Social Workers, Receptionists, CNA's RN's, Dietary, Physical Therapy, OT, NP's, Doctors and a special Thanks to Christina and Nicole! I love you so much! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. My sincerest gratitude. Margaret Thompson "
