"Harmony at Glasgow had no laundry and no full kitchen inside the apartments. The staff was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. I saw the menu. The facilities were very clean, well-organized, bright, and cheerful."

"Ivy Creek Gracious Retirement is close to where I live. They have a nurse and a manager on staff. It's clean and friendly. The employees were very attentive. The dining area was good, and we were able to eat lunch, and it was fine. They had an art studio and a chapel. The one-bedroom was very small. The person who assisted me was very friendly."

"My mom has been at Chestnut Ridge for three years now. This facility is very clean. If I could afford it, I would live there myself. The rooms are very nice. My mother is in like an apartment-type room where she is able to have her own living room and bedroom and there's even a little kitchenette. They serve three meals a day plus two snacks a day. They have numerous activities. They have a wellness center there on site where they administer her medicines for her. They also have a rehab facility there. For activities, they have arts and crafts, bingo, karaoke, etc. They would take them out to go to movies or to go to casino. They would also take them out for rides or for dinners, etc."

"Meadowcrest at Middletown was a beautiful place. The lady was very knowledgeable, very helpful, and very nice. She knew everything that she had to know. She even gave me advice on how to get extra help. The common area was beautiful. However, they only provide you with a certain amount of meals and the rest comes out of your pocket. If I had to go in there, I wouldn't think twice, but it was just costly. It looked clean. I didn't smell anything. I saw a lot of different rooms and different activities going on, which looked good. I saw some people playing a puzzle and others just walking around and watching TV. They just do whatever they wanted to do."

"We visited Arbour Square. The facility is brand new, it has a lot of openings, the waiting-list is short, and it has a nice concept. It has a nice atmosphere, and the rooms were adequate. The staff was very pleasant, and the people were pleasant."

"We toured St. Martha Villa. I like where it's located, and it was on the grounds of a church, which was important to me. It wasn't too big. It was very well kept, nice looking, and very cozy, and not institutional at all. Everybody was friendly. They have a dining room and crafts room. They have a chapel. They have nice grounds to walk on. They have a bus to take you shopping."

"I toured Echo Lake, and it was worth a six. It was like being in a luxury hotel. It was gorgeous. Everything that you can imagine they have, except for the chapel. They have doctors' offices. They have a gym. They had a huge art room, and a bus to take you places, like a weekly run to the supermarket, within a certain distance. Also, to doctor's offices if you didn't want to use the doctor that was there at the building. It's a couple of stories high. It was huge. For me it was expensive. They had a lot of two-bedroom units there as well."

"Brittany Manor didn't provide respite care services. Going in there, it was more for people who are mentally challenged. Before I went in, there was a resident already asking me for money while I was sitting in my car, and then when I went in, there was another resident who was asking me for money, and food, and whatever I had in my hand. The person who walked me around was a five. My experience trying to confirm that I had a tour was a one or a zero. I called to confirm, and no one seemed to be able to confirm with me that they were aware that I was coming. They said they would get back to me, and no one ever got back to me, so I just wound up showing up, and the person who gave me the tour was very friendly. However, she wasn't necessarily prepared to provide a tour. The place was very disheveled. Whoever owned the place before, that signage was still up there. The facility smelled as soon as I got in the door. The staff pretty much mentioned this is for people who have mental disabilities. The room I saw wasn't dirty. It's just that everything looked old. Everything didn't look like it was maintained properly. That's not a place I would recommend for anybody. It didn't seem like the patients were even well taken care of. The people that I talked to on the phone were not professional in my book, and telling me that you're going to get back to me, and then you still don't get back, that was very concerning."

"My friend likes the appearance. She said it's a friendly community, and she loves the food. They play bingo, puzzles and things, but she was isolated for ten days, so she hasn't done a lot yet. They also got a beauty parlor that's not opened yet, but they have a bus that takes them to doctors' appointments. They have really nice grounds where you can walk outside, and an out back area where they have barbecues in the summertime. It's in a very nice setting. It's a small community, and there's only 26 residents for each of the two buildings. It's very cozy once you get used to it, and it's very nice inside."

"When it was time to move my Mom and Dad to assisted living because they both suffered from dementia, I visited several facilities in Washington Township. Cardinal Village was the last of five. That was better than four years ago. I chose Cardinal Village because of the kindness that was shown from my first contact with Cardinal.. My exact words to Trish, the nursing director were "You have the kindness eyes I have ever seen in a health care practitioner and I am going to hold those eyes responsible for my parents". She never let me down. From Trish on down, the entire staff treated Mom and Dad with nothing but kindness, caring and respect. I lost my Dad last year and Mom just died December 22. The staff could not have been kinder. I truly felt that all who cared for my parents genuinely loved and cared for them. I am so thankful that I found Cardinal Village. "

"I recently visited this community to see what all the buzz was about. Although lots of renovations underway the employees and residents I encountered were happy and excited despite the obvious inconvenience of living and working through the noise and dust. The new look of the lobby is very modern but warm and inviting. The overall new design looks great. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. "

"I visited Juniper Village at Washington Square and toured their assisted living. It was lovely, but the rooms were on the second and third floors and my brother did not like that. He wanted to be on the ground floor. The place was beautiful, though. The food was wonderful and everybody was very pleasant. All the rooms we saw were very nice, too. The staff who assisted us was pleasant. They have a lot of activities. They take groups out to places, there's a place to play cards, and there's a little coffee kitchen with different kinds of coffee. It's lovely. They served me a meal, which was wonderful. It was like going to a restaurant."

"My father has moved into Madeline Care Center. It's been a pretty good experience so far. His room was completely flipped. He had fresh paint and brand new laminated flooring, so it's very nice. He's in rest residential, which is assisted living in Delaware. They do not have very many activities, but I was told that an activity director was hired last week. There's not many choices per meal, but he likes the breakfast. The soup I had was good. The facility is like an old home almost, so they're renovating part of it. It's outdated, but the rooms are humongous, and I was very impressed with that. They have a library, and the dining room is very nice and has linen tablecloths. The staff is very friendly. Anytime I've asked for something to be done or changed, they jump right on it, and they do their best to accommodate us."
