"We toured Ashton Commons Senior Living. It was very nice. It's a brand-new place, and it was beautiful. They had cottages, which we didn't go to see because we talked about the price before they took us to show us anything. We knew they were too expensive. We were in their general area, and we saw their dining area and their main common areas. Everything was brand new, and the people there were extremely nice. They had signs up that said they had different programs, like bingo, crafts, and outings, and that you could sign up for. They had rides to appointments like if you had doctor's appointments."

"The rooms that they showed us at Graceful Care Living just had a bed in them, and that's it. We knew immediately when we got there that that wasn't what we were looking for. The staff mentioned that they have another section for people who are more independent. However, it was still somewhat the same concept. Instead of being in a room, like a small, single room, there were two beds. There was no television in those independent rooms. You have to go out of the room to watch television. It was that type of atmosphere, and my mother doesn't want that. She wants something that's like a small apartment, where she can live in that small space and be able to care for herself. I liked the atmosphere. I liked the staff. They're very nice and very accommodating as we went through the tour. My mom asked questions, although she didn't ask very many because she knew, and I could tell just from how she was withdrawn that she was like, "No, this is not going to work for me." I said it to the guy. I said, she's a lot more independent. She can get around fairly well, but this is not for her. She still needs to be in her own place where she can take care of herself. The only thing that she needed was somebody to help her, like to come in and help her to make sure that she's taking her meds. I didn't smell anything. It was very clean."

"To me, Abode Care of Monroeville has more of a nursing home/hospital kind of a vibe to it. It's more of a sterile kind of environment. It's all hard flooring. There's no carpeting. It was clean, though. The director was very nice and very knowledgeable. She was receptive to what we were looking for. No complaints about her."

"I toured The Haven at North Hills. I went with my daughter to check it out, but they had no vacant rooms at the time. They took us around the place and showed us different things that they had. It is close to where I live now, and most of the stores that I go to are available. The staff who gave the tour was very nice. In terms of amenities, they had a library, a gym, and a party room if you wanted to have a party with guests or something."

"All new decorated rooms, floors, painted wall, new toilets, mattress, as well as kitchen, reading room, meeting room, every inch of this home has been touched and made more comfortable, more accessible, to its residence. The food is great, the care, the staff, all helpful, and at beckoning call when needed. Our 1st cousin has been there for five years. He needed more help than we could have given him,…. Sycamore Estates was the answer."

"Mom moved into Sterling Home last September. The place is nice and the rooms are decent. The only thing I have is that if you want a room with a bathroom, you have to pay more. If not, you have to use the community bathroom. I like the staff. They do care about the residents, and I've never seen them mistreat anyone. I know that my mother has never felt mistreated. As far as the services, they wash her clothes, make sure that she gets her meds, and they provide her with meals. I'm pretty much satisfied with the services that she receives. There are no activities going on there. They are indicating that most of the residents don't want to participate. The dining area is clean, but I think the selection could be better."

"My husband is here. I was scrambling to find a new place and Whitetail Springs has only been around for about a year. It's a new facility, so they were able to take him. The hospital was kind of like, 'we can't keep him, you gotta get him out of here,' so I was really put on the spot. It's a beautiful facility and has caring staff. They are also very kind, helpful, and particularly accommodating. With the pandemic, I really can't see him, and it's just been incredibly difficult. One of the things that concerns me is the distance from home; I am 45 minutes away from him. I've had some housekeeping issues with him, too. I was able to see him for one hour last week and I wasn't pleased with how clean his room was and some other issues. It is extremely pricey, but I believe he is being well cared for. "

"Staff Are very kind and friendly. They take good care of my mom and her needs. Activities are great and keep the residents very busy. Food is great on some days and simpler on others. I will say there is always plenty of food and its made fresh. Kitchen staff are nice as well. Overall I would highly recommend for someone who is looking for a cozy, clean, and friendly environment for a loved one."

"My mom moved in. So far, so good. We had a couple of glitches, but other than that, it was fine. It's hard during the quarantine because she can't meet anybody, but the staff has been great. They've been wonderful helping around. She loves the food, and it's much more than what she normally eats. She's not used to eating three or four meals a day, so she picks at what she can, but she says it's very good. It's a beautiful place, clean, and well kept. She got a studio, which is quite large, it has a big window, a small refrigerator, and a microwave. There's plenty of room, a nice closet, and a big bathroom. It's bigger than I thought it was going to be, and she has everything she needs."

"Quality Life Services had physical therapy and a lot of things that worked for me and enabled me to do things more on my own than I was before. They're very expensive, but they had good, quality work. We were crowded. They were putting more people in rooms that were made for two people. The people who worked for them were very good, but overworked and probably underpaid. The food was OK. Certain meals were good quality and certain meals were underrated and not that great. There were things that should've been done, but they could not do that because they didn't either have the time or the capabilities to do them. It was not a question of how bad they might have been, but rather how good they were with what they had. They made the rooms as attractive as they could. They had movies in a big open area until the coronavirus messed things up, and they had to narrow down the number of people in one space. It's a pretty facility, and they were adding on. They had construction of another wing going on, on the other side of the courtyard. They tried to make a variety of food preparations and sometimes they succeeded and sometimes they didn't. They offered physical therapy there, and they had a lady come in that would do your hair."

"We were able to visit Rosebrook and the facility is excellent, but they had nothing available at this time. The staff who accommodated us was very straight to the point and I was very pleased. We would have probably put her in there if there was an available room. Their dining room was very nice, but I haven’t tried the food. Overall, we were very impressed with the facility. "

"My grandmother and great aunt used to stay at Corcodia. It's an amazing facility. If I had to say about it to anyone in that area, it's absolutely the best one. It's clean and pretty. All the rooms are private. We certainly didn't feel that they were understaffed. It's expensive though. Surprisingly, they don't have a separate unit for Dementia or Alzheimer's. That really amazes me considering that it is financially successful and they've expanded. "

"The Orchards of Saxonburg (Saxony Health Center) was nice, but it seemed crowded with a lot of patients. The dining room was small and homey. They take state assistance. The staff was very efficient, and directed us that if we need them, we couldn't afford them, but if they do SSI, that's where we can go. We liked the country setting. The rooms were hospital-like, and I didn't like the hospital atmosphere."
