All the staff is friendly food is EXCELLENT should be starred on television or something of that sort rooms are a very nice size, activities are also provided for them to do, vending machines on site they can also come and go as they please if signed in or out. "I liked Woodcrest Senior Living Community very much, but you have to share washers and dryers, and that didn't make me very happy. The staff was all very personable and the clients seemed very happy. The one-bedroom apartment was more than enough and I was pleased with it. I would highly recommend the facility. It's extremely well kept, and the staff and clients were extremely pleasant. Everybody seemed happy. It seemed to run very smoothly. They have a very big activity list. They have three levels of care. If you go to the next level of care, the care comes to you in your apartment, but if you need skilled around-the-clock nursing, they don't have that. It's nice financially. This is in Southwest, Pennsylvania, so it's very economical. Everything is on a single floor, so you don't need to go outside, but it's also off the main street/a highway, so you can walk outside. Everything was very good about it. I was very pleased with the staff, the clients, the facility, and all that they had to offer."

"It was a wonderful place and the staff were caring. We chose it because it was near my mother-in-law's house and she was familiar with the area. However, she was not that ready yet, so she went home again. "

"I toured the assisted living facility of Paramount Senior Living at South Hills, and it's a very nice place. The people are nice, and the amenities and the rooms are just as nice. The guy who gave the tour was also really nice. It was an abbreviated tour because I had already gone to their facility in Bethel Park. We took a quick tour of this place, and it looked the same. It was a little bit different in the layout, but it was very similar in that it was appointed the same way, people were nice, and the grounds were nice. They talked about the activities, but I didn't see any. I didn't see people dancing around or doing any of that stuff. You could tell the people were comfortable there. Some of them are in worse shape than others. They wouldn't be there if they didn't need some help, but they seem to be well-treated. It was mealtime, so you could see the servers going around. They didn't offer me any food, but they were being nice to the people and helping some eat. They were pretty attentive, and I have to say they run a good ship."

"The rooms that they showed us at Graceful Care Living just had a bed in them, and that's it. We knew immediately when we got there that that wasn't what we were looking for. The staff mentioned that they have another section for people who are more independent. However, it was still somewhat the same concept. Instead of being in a room, like a small, single room, there were two beds. There was no television in those independent rooms. You have to go out of the room to watch television. It was that type of atmosphere, and my mother doesn't want that. She wants something that's like a small apartment, where she can live in that small space and be able to care for herself. I liked the atmosphere. I liked the staff. They're very nice and very accommodating as we went through the tour. My mom asked questions, although she didn't ask very many because she knew, and I could tell just from how she was withdrawn that she was like, "No, this is not going to work for me." I said it to the guy. I said, she's a lot more independent. She can get around fairly well, but this is not for her. She still needs to be in her own place where she can take care of herself. The only thing that she needed was somebody to help her, like to come in and help her to make sure that she's taking her meds. I didn't smell anything. It was very clean."

"Whitetail Springs Assisted Living and Memory Care is very interactive. It is very clean and very new. As I was walking around, all the staff were out and about, and a great number of the patients were out and about, too. It's a small community of only 40 people."

"I toured the assisted living facility of Paramount Senior Living-Bethel. It is in a nice area, and it's very clean. I would say it is very well-appointed. It makes a very good entrance when you go in. The grounds are nice, the lobby is beautiful, and the dining area is beautiful. The facility itself is nice. When you go upstairs to the assisted living, the rooms are very nice. They have very good rooms, and you don't see a big difference between the independent area and the assisted living area. They kind of blur the line pretty well. I think it's because they may use a lot of the same rooms, and they just increase the care as you need it, so they don't have a separate area. The people were nice, and the activities seemed to be very nice. They have a nice outdoor courtyard. It's a nice place, and the people are very nice and seem like they were attentive. There was no question that if we thought my mother could handle personal care, that's the place we would have sent her to. We have put money down for it, so we were disappointed that she couldn't go there. During the tour, they showed us the dining area, activities area, and I guess you could call it a living room. It's just like a lounge area where you could sit and talk, watch TV, or read a book."

"We enjoyed our tour of Harmony at Harts Run. The staff who gave us the tour was very informative. While we were there, they were getting ready for an Octoberfest celebration where they invited the families to come. So, I thought that was nice. It was a new building, so it was brand spanking new. It was 3 floors, which was fine, but you had to go down for the meals. There were many activities for the residents. One of the dining areas had linen tablecloths which I thought was pretty cool. The other dining room did not have linen tablecloths, but the silverware was wrapped in a cloth napkin."

"We were very much leaning towards The Grand Residence at Upper St Clair until we went to see the other place the next day. We were very impressed with their activities and the food. They were very, very friendly. They were very comparable in price, but it was a little bit darker environment, and the room was a little smaller. My husband really liked this place as well, but the environment at the other place was lighter, easier to see, and therefore easier to negotiate because you could see better. They have several different room sizes. They had studio and private rooms, and five different levels of rooms there, but the bigger sizes were more expensive. What we were going to be able to afford there was the small studio. It was still nice, but it wasn't as large, and they still had kitchenettes. They gave us a sampling of a dessert. They are actually open to the public. The public can come into their restaurant there. They have an extraordinary reputation for their good food. They have all kinds of seafood and steaks. They have a lot of awards, even for their good food. They followed up with a call the next day. We were interviewed in the dining area, so we saw the food and smelled the food. They actually were having a lemon dessert that day, and that's my husband's favorite. I think it was like $6 a slice, and they gave us two for free and it was delicious."

"The Haven at North Hills was very lovely. All of the rooms were private and very spacious. It was very clean, very bright, and cheery. The dining room was beautiful. They were having some activities while we were there. There were residents attending the activities who seemed to be having a good time."
