"I went to Life's Promise. I met the owners, both of them, and they were wonderful. I saw part of it, and it was very clean. I talked to some of the residents that were outside, and I very much enjoyed it there, but it was a little bit more than we could afford. The residents said the food is better than average."

"I placed my wife in a place called Rest Assured Living Center. It's a small community, but it's very nice inside. And it's kind of a family type of atmosphere. The people there are very attentive to the residents and they're knowledgeable about what they need, so it's very good. Their menus are very nice. They're nutritious and they're kind of comfort food. The building is very nice. It's very good. When I was there, they were playing bingo, but they have an activities director who seemed to be very active. The residents do not just sit around and vegetate. My wife is in a very large room. There are two people in the room, but it's huge. The atmosphere is very friendly. The employees acknowledge all the residents. As they're walking past, they say hi and you can tell that they do that routinely because the residents reciprocate."

"I visited the Rosewood Manor assisted living facility as a member of my high school stage band, to play a show for the residents. The facilities were spacious, clean, and well taken care of. The residents had everything they needed to be comfortable, and they were very excited to see our show. The staff members were polite and courteous, and they were happy to plan something for their residents to bring a smile to their faces. Overall, the experience was great, and I'm glad I was able to perform and visit such a great place in our community. "

"My brother was in Westmont Woods (Presbyterian Home of Greater Johnstown) for therapy, but it was too expensive for him to go into assisted living. It's a beautiful, nice, and modern-looking building. They had so much staff, and the rooms were small and felt cramped. They treated him well, but I wasn't really happy with it. Communication was very poor, and the staff was just too busy. They had a lot of help, but none of them could spend too much time with him because they were filled to capacity with patients. "

"The Lutheran Home at Johnstown is very nice, very clean, and the staff is very helpful. My dad has a one-bedroom unit with a bath and it's very decently spacious. My dad enjoys the food. The facility is very well kept. They have Bible studies, get-togethers like ice cream socials or a family picnic, crafts, and exercise in the morning. It's just what I would expect from them for that price."

"I moved my dad into Richland Woods Assisted Living. They were very thorough, and they have medical staff on hand. They were an absolute godsend, and they were a pleasure to deal with. They call us to give us updates, and when we call, they have his full medical history. They are just absolutely phenomenal. The facility is beautiful, and when you walk in you wouldn't know you're in an assisted living. Everything's coded, nobody can get out, and there's key codes; they're very secure. They never had an episode of COVID during the entire outbreak, there were zero cases, and they do everything the way they're supposed to do it. They have a very good upkeep, and the place is very clean. My dad can't do most of the activities, but I saw what they have been doing, and they offer a ton of stuff for seniors."

"Wonderful, caring, kind, compassionate staff. Every staff member I’ve talked with have been super helpful. This is a clean facility as well. You won’t find staff standing around talking with each other because they are always working. Whenever I have asked for help with my aunt I’ve been met with a positive response and attitude. I can’t say enough good things about this facility. Thank you Laurelwood for taking such good care of my auntie!!"

"St Jude's Haven was good. They showed us the room, the beauty shop, where they do the laundry, and where they do the cooking, and it was all very nice. Kate was pretty good. She was very nice and explained everything. She told us that they do the laundry every day for the residents, and that the laundry area is sanitized every day. The facility was very clean, and I think my mother-in-law would like it better there than where she's at."

"My aunt was a resident of the Goodwill Assisted Living home for a period of approximately fifteen months. I visited her twice weekly during her stay at Goodwill. She really enjoyed her time at this facility. My aunt expressed to me on numerous occasions that the employees were genuinely interested in speaking with the residents. It was evident to me during my visits, that this was true. Each and every employee greeted every person that they came into contact with. They offered assistance with travel arrangements for the group busses. They offered advice on how to settle disagreements. They always asked the residents how they were doing that day. Even if a resident took a long time answering a question, or became confused or forgetful, the employees never seemed to become irritated or aggravated with the resident. Their patience and attentiveness means so much to the residents, and it was very much appreciated by family members, like me. The facility is also very safe. The doors are locked after a certain time in the evening, and remain that way all through the night. This makes the residents feel quite secure in their dwelling. There are staff at Goodwill to assist the residents twenty four hours per day, and this also aides the residents to have great peace of mind. If anything should happen, staff are readily available. Residents always have the choice to eat cafeteria prepared meals, or they can prepare their own meals in small kitchens. Some residents have tiny kitchen units in their own apartment or dwelling. Also, some residents have access to kitchens that are used by many residents, and they can receive help from staff with cooking needs. The cafeteria food is quite good, and does not remind you of the typical food that you see served in some facilities such as this one. "

"My mom has been in The Villa since February. It's very, very nice and we are very happy with it. They have activities that she participates in and the meals are very balanced and good. She's happy with it. The room is quite large and she's able to have a bed and her love seat there. It also has another chair and a table so it's very comfortable. I don't live in the same town, so I'm not there to get every detail about their activities but I was talking to my mother and she said that she goes to all of them. They have exercise classes, bingo, and crafts, and she's pleased with them. Comparing them to other places in this location, it's less expensive but very nice. One of the reasons that we chose it and we liked it a lot is that there are only 35 units and it's not connected with a nursing home, which could be quite large if it's a nursing home and assisted living. This facility is just assisted living."

"My experience at The Atrium was positive. They had a really nice dining area. The rooms were set up more like a home instead of an assisted living area that was big enough for them to bring their own furniture. There were a lot of sitting areas for them to go out and walk around in the building. The people living there didn't seem unhappy. The only person that I met was the lady at the front desk who gave us a tour. She was very friendly and spoke with all of the people who lived there like she knew them by name and had a personal relationship with them. I didn't have a family member living there, but the visit was nice. "
