"St Jude's Haven was good. They showed us the room, the beauty shop, where they do the laundry, and where they do the cooking, and it was all very nice. Kate was pretty good. She was very nice and explained everything. She told us that they do the laundry every day for the residents, and that the laundry area is sanitized every day. The facility was very clean, and I think my mother-in-law would like it better there than where she's at."

"My experience at The Atrium was positive. They had a really nice dining area. The rooms were set up more like a home instead of an assisted living area that was big enough for them to bring their own furniture. There were a lot of sitting areas for them to go out and walk around in the building. The people living there didn't seem unhappy. The only person that I met was the lady at the front desk who gave us a tour. She was very friendly and spoke with all of the people who lived there like she knew them by name and had a personal relationship with them. I didn't have a family member living there, but the visit was nice. "

"My mom has been in The Villa since February. It's very, very nice and we are very happy with it. They have activities that she participates in and the meals are very balanced and good. She's happy with it. The room is quite large and she's able to have a bed and her love seat there. It also has another chair and a table so it's very comfortable. I don't live in the same town, so I'm not there to get every detail about their activities but I was talking to my mother and she said that she goes to all of them. They have exercise classes, bingo, and crafts, and she's pleased with them. Comparing them to other places in this location, it's less expensive but very nice. One of the reasons that we chose it and we liked it a lot is that there are only 35 units and it's not connected with a nursing home, which could be quite large if it's a nursing home and assisted living. This facility is just assisted living."

"I moved my dad into Richland Woods Assisted Living. They were very thorough, and they have medical staff on hand. They were an absolute godsend, and they were a pleasure to deal with. They call us to give us updates, and when we call, they have his full medical history. They are just absolutely phenomenal. The facility is beautiful, and when you walk in you wouldn't know you're in an assisted living. Everything's coded, nobody can get out, and there's key codes; they're very secure. They never had an episode of COVID during the entire outbreak, there were zero cases, and they do everything the way they're supposed to do it. They have a very good upkeep, and the place is very clean. My dad can't do most of the activities, but I saw what they have been doing, and they offer a ton of stuff for seniors."

"I visited the Rosewood Manor assisted living facility as a member of my high school stage band, to play a show for the residents. The facilities were spacious, clean, and well taken care of. The residents had everything they needed to be comfortable, and they were very excited to see our show. The staff members were polite and courteous, and they were happy to plan something for their residents to bring a smile to their faces. Overall, the experience was great, and I'm glad I was able to perform and visit such a great place in our community. "

"The Lutheran Home at Johnstown is very nice, very clean, and the staff is very helpful. My dad has a one-bedroom unit with a bath and it's very decently spacious. My dad enjoys the food. The facility is very well kept. They have Bible studies, get-togethers like ice cream socials or a family picnic, crafts, and exercise in the morning. It's just what I would expect from them for that price."

"My brother was in Westmont Woods (Presbyterian Home of Greater Johnstown) for therapy, but it was too expensive for him to go into assisted living. It's a beautiful, nice, and modern-looking building. They had so much staff, and the rooms were small and felt cramped. They treated him well, but I wasn't really happy with it. Communication was very poor, and the staff was just too busy. They had a lot of help, but none of them could spend too much time with him because they were filled to capacity with patients. "

"While searching for a personal care home for a family member I want to note the very positive experience we had with Amber Springs at Laurel Wood. The personal attention the residents receive from a warm and caring staff was kind and genuine. The room options were lovely.... fresh, clean, and modern with walk in showers with seats and hand-held shower heads. Beautiful views from the residents rooms, dining area, and other common areas surround the facility. The Administrator gave us a personal tour and took whatever time we needed, sensitive to the fact that this was a very important decision we were making. In this moderately large facility, he knew each resident by name and stopped to lend a hand to a number of people during our tour. Most notable to me, was a very pleasant staff that seemed happy to be there, and greeted us with warmth and reassurance. Amber Springs at Laurel Wood is a place well worth your time and consideration! "

"I find the Church of the Brethen home to be a clean facility with limited staff. The staff at times is overwhelmed by the amount of total care patients. If you are a resident that is able to take care of your own personnel needs and you require limited assistance from the nursing staff, this would be an excellent facility to reside in. "
