"I have Conemaugh Home Health come in for my husband. They have visiting nurses and therapists. They have nurse aides that come and help him in the bathroom. They give him his wheelchair and they locate the things he needs. These are really good people. They help with pretty much everything. They've measured him for foot splints. They have a therapist for physical therapy that comes in. He's able to stand up now and he has started to use his legs. They have an occupational therapist. He'd had a stroke while he was in with COVID last winter, and now they have him turning his head and using his arms and neck. Then they have a bath nurse that comes in and helps me once a week with rolling him, changing him, and giving him his bath and washing his hair. We've got him learning to wash his own face and stuff like that now. She showed me things I needed like cortisone cream because he got some kind of dry condition, and his hair was starting to come out. She helped me put dry patches on the spot and she got the doctor to call in a prescription for it. They check what medications he is taking every day. If I get something new, they check it with me. Like I got him on Mucinex because he had a lot of drainage and was getting nausea, and they made sure it is matched with everything he was already on, even though it was over-the-counter. Then they have a supervisor nurse that comes once a month to check everyone else's and how I'm satisfied or not. They're just amazing. They would call first to make sure it's OK the night before to see if everything is still set. And one time my phone was broken, and I didn't know they were trying to reach me. She came anyhow and everything worked out. She just said she took a chance because I was already on the schedule, and just kind of worried that it would be unusual knowing our schedule and that no one would be answering, and she wanted to make sure we were OK.
