"My mom has been in The Villa since February. It's very, very nice and we are very happy with it. They have activities that she participates in and the meals are very balanced and good. She's happy with it. The room is quite large and she's able to have a bed and her love seat there. It also has another chair and a table so it's very comfortable. I don't live in the same town, so I'm not there to get every detail about their activities but I was talking to my mother and she said that she goes to all of them. They have exercise classes, bingo, and crafts, and she's pleased with them. Comparing them to other places in this location, it's less expensive but very nice. One of the reasons that we chose it and we liked it a lot is that there are only 35 units and it's not connected with a nursing home, which could be quite large if it's a nursing home and assisted living. This facility is just assisted living."

"My wife is in The Atrium. The staff has been very pleasant and responsible. The food is average. Her room is above average and has plenty of space. They have common rooms, TV room, activity room, kitchen, rehab room, and sauna and Jacuzzi room. They're very good, very friendly, and very helpful. Parking is a problem."

"It was gorgeous. We've had several relatives in other homes in the Johnstown area, and this by far is the nicest place that I've ever been in. They have super wide hallways, and everything is decorated beautifully. I think they have 42 rooms, so it's not that large. As we were going through the facility, we were with the admissions director. We stopped and talked to the staff, whether it was a laundry person or a hairdresser or whoever that was. He introduced us to every one of those, which impressed me, because it seemed like a family type place. He took us to a studio apartment that was fairly big. It's about 450 square feet, which is a good size, with a really nice kitchen, a really nice private bath, and a living area. McCullough Place is the only one I found that had any vacancies actually. Then they had the crafts, weekly church services, a sing along, and an entertainer that comes in and plays the accordion and piano. They have a very good variety of socialization. It's built in a circle around a courtyard with a gazebo and plenty of picnic tables. They have a dining room that beats most restaurants. They have tablecloths that are decorated real nice with centerpieces. They have free transportation to doctor's offices and they take care of dispensing their medications. They had anything that you asked for. I was very pleased."

"I visited the Rosewood Manor assisted living facility as a member of my high school stage band, to play a show for the residents. The facilities were spacious, clean, and well taken care of. The residents had everything they needed to be comfortable, and they were very excited to see our show. The staff members were polite and courteous, and they were happy to plan something for their residents to bring a smile to their faces. Overall, the experience was great, and I'm glad I was able to perform and visit such a great place in our community. "

"My brother was in Westmont Woods (Presbyterian Home of Greater Johnstown) for therapy, but it was too expensive for him to go into assisted living. It's a beautiful, nice, and modern-looking building. They had so much staff, and the rooms were small and felt cramped. They treated him well, but I wasn't really happy with it. Communication was very poor, and the staff was just too busy. They had a lot of help, but none of them could spend too much time with him because they were filled to capacity with patients. "

"The Lutheran Home at Johnstown is very nice, very clean, and the staff is very helpful. My dad has a one-bedroom unit with a bath and it's very decently spacious. My dad enjoys the food. The facility is very well kept. They have Bible studies, get-togethers like ice cream socials or a family picnic, crafts, and exercise in the morning. It's just what I would expect from them for that price."

"I moved my dad into Richland Woods Assisted Living. They were very thorough, and they have medical staff on hand. They were an absolute godsend, and they were a pleasure to deal with. They call us to give us updates, and when we call, they have his full medical history. They are just absolutely phenomenal. The facility is beautiful, and when you walk in you wouldn't know you're in an assisted living. Everything's coded, nobody can get out, and there's key codes; they're very secure. They never had an episode of COVID during the entire outbreak, there were zero cases, and they do everything the way they're supposed to do it. They have a very good upkeep, and the place is very clean. My dad can't do most of the activities, but I saw what they have been doing, and they offer a ton of stuff for seniors."

"My loved ones used to live in Laurel View Village. They lived in an apartment at the independent living level. That place was seriously excellent. They had a 2-bedroom apartment. They had two meals a day. They could go for breakfast, lunch, or supper, which was excellent. I've eaten there, and it was very good. I like that their personal care residents are getting the same food, as those in independent living. They had a lot of amenities. People could go places. They played shuffleboard. They had bands come in, and they had kids come in. They had a lot. They also took trips. They would go to a baseball game or something like that."

"St Jude's Haven was good. They showed us the room, the beauty shop, where they do the laundry, and where they do the cooking, and it was all very nice. Kate was pretty good. She was very nice and explained everything. She told us that they do the laundry every day for the residents, and that the laundry area is sanitized every day. The facility was very clean, and I think my mother-in-law would like it better there than where she's at."

"I find the Church of the Brethen home to be a clean facility with limited staff. The staff at times is overwhelmed by the amount of total care patients. If you are a resident that is able to take care of your own personnel needs and you require limited assistance from the nursing staff, this would be an excellent facility to reside in. "

"This facility seems very nice from the outside and as soon as you walk in, but after you're there for a few minutes, the real scene unfolds. The staff doesn't come to the need of residents right away but are instead sitting down at a table chatting together, when they do answer the call bells most are not pleasant: yelling, attitudes, mocking residents, being rough. Aside from the unfriendly staff, the facility itself was dirty; dust at least 3 inches thick on ceiling fans that were blowing, scattering dust around, dirty tables, food on floor and tables. We got to meet with the owner of the facility, along with 2 other facilities. He has a crude sense of humor and doesn't seem to get to know the residents on a personal level which to me is a key priority to owning/operating a long time care facility to make the rest of their lives enjoyable. I would never put a family member of my own in this facility, and am glad I don't have to go back! "
