"The Lutheran Home at Johnstown is very nice, very clean, and the staff is very helpful. My dad has a one-bedroom unit with a bath and it's very decently spacious. My dad enjoys the food. The facility is very well kept. They have Bible studies, get-togethers like ice cream socials or a family picnic, crafts, and exercise in the morning. It's just what I would expect from them for that price."

"My brother was in Westmont Woods (Presbyterian Home of Greater Johnstown) for therapy, but it was too expensive for him to go into assisted living. It's a beautiful, nice, and modern-looking building. They had so much staff, and the rooms were small and felt cramped. They treated him well, but I wasn't really happy with it. Communication was very poor, and the staff was just too busy. They had a lot of help, but none of them could spend too much time with him because they were filled to capacity with patients. "

"We will not be moving my father-in-law from Haida Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center because it's just too convenient for the family. They give us medical attention, as well as the personal care. They're very caring towards their patients. They do what's necessary for their well-being. They keep the family informed. The physical condition of the facility is good. There are places where they allow the people to sit with their loved ones. My father-in-law has been in both semiprivate and private rooms. The rooms are nice, and they can bring in whatever they need to for his care. He is not able to do activities. I know they have activities there. We were looking into them at the beginning, but he went downhill so quick. He's not able to do any activities. They're taking good care of my father-in-law. With everything, there is always room for improvement; everything I have seen has been up-to-date. The staff members have been keeping us updated. Any time my husband called with questions, they either answer him right then or get back to him within an hour. The staff is good too."

"I ended up in Latrobe for a leg injury for four weeks. They had Alzheimer's/dementia care there. There were very few nights where I was uncomfortable at all. It was OK, and that is why I would consider it for my mom. It’s just a little bit too restrictive and older but clean. "

"My great-grandmother stayed at this facility before she passed away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. No one's call bell ever seemed to go unanswered for very long at all. We were allowed to bring her cat in to visit her, which she enjoyed and appreciated so much. There were games available, and they held church services on Sundays for the residents. We were able to hold a large birthday party for her at the facility as well. There were also game nights, and televisions in the rooms. There was also a beauty salon on site. Although my great-grandmother did not take advantage of much of these amenities due to her illness, it was great that all of these services were offered. I even saw the activities director taking residents out when the weather was nice to enjoy outside activities. Mulberry Square even has their own garden that is elevated for residents to work in and enjoy. The only reason I do not give the facility five stars is because it often had a strong odor of urine. I realize that this is sometimes not preventable due to the conditions of many of the patients, however. Overall, Mulberry Square seems to put its patients needs first and was in my experience an excellent elder care facility. "

"My Mother came here about 4 years ago in rehab and unfortunately had to end up over at skilled nursing. She was an amputee patient from another home who neglected her and the best thing that happened was her coming to Bethlen. There is no skilled nursing home that is 100% but when I come up to visit, pretty much everyone has a smile on their face, very happy and upbeat. The activities people are top notch. When I return to Florida I feel confident that she is in good hands. Thank You Bethlen Staff!!!!! "

"My mother went to a rehab center at The Villa Crest to get better. She was there for about two weeks. It was friendly, clean, and personal. They get their own personal care rooms. They get physical therapy daily. They get their medical care plus their meals and anything else, but the main thing was the physical therapy and she got that every day, which was a positive thing. The care was good. The staff was courteous and friendly. They were good. She had a private room and it was very nice. They had occupational therapy, too. They didn't have activities daily, but they would have bingo maybe once a week or so. Other than that, you're more or less in your room. My mom loved the meals. She said the food was good. I was very pleased."

"Cambria care was wonderful and great. The occupational and physical therapy was good; she was just not happy being out of the home. The rooms were spacious, the nursing staff was excellent, and everybody was very accommodating to her. The food was good, and they had a laundry facility. The price was good -- $155 a day -- and I think it’s a good price."

"My grandfather spent quite a few weeks here and was very happy with his care. The staff were very attentive of his needs and that of his family. The facility was very clean and bright.The rooms were a little on the small side but very comfortable. My grandfather enjoyed the activitities that were held throughout the day. He really really enjoyed the bingo games. My grandfather died shortly after leaving The Greensburg Care Center and I must say we his family were pleasantly surprised to see a couple of his care takers from the center at his funeral. All in all I would highly recommend this facility to anyone. "

"My pre-k class visits this facility each year. The director coordinates activities for the residents and involves the community as often as she can. We always go the week before Easter. The residents dye Easter eggs before we visit. All the residents who are able come outside, or are brought outside, to watch the children hunt Easter eggs. We sing songs for them. Some of the residents will hand out candy to the children. Lots of hugs and fun is had by both the children and the residents. The staff always has new games, craft activities, and outing for the residents. This Valentine's Day, they had a king and Queen competition where the staff, residents, and resident's families who visited could vote. The winners were so cute with their crowns and roses. This staff really goes out of their way to keep the residents active and make them feel at home. "

"My sister has been there for 3 years because she is no longer able to live by herself. We have too many steps to bring her to our home. Her care appears to be very good. Her meals could be approved on. She is a vegetarian and they do not seem to diversify meals for her. I wish I could gather information on food requirements for care homes, IE protein, fruit, vegetable, grain requirements as is done for child care centers and schools. My biggest complaint is trying to get an answer when you call! You either get a message to leave a message and you will get a return call at the main number and the same when to try to contact a particular unit. And you DO NOT get a call back! All in all, I guess this is an acceptable solution, but I wish there were somewhere else available when she was transferred from the hospital."

"My great aunt was recently put in this nursing home, and needless to say; it is GREAT! She is always taken care of and always has ways to entertain herself there. My great aunt enjoys the food and has not lost any belongings so far (in which is what happened to other relatives in other nursing homes). There is always some kind of nightly activity for the residents to do (such as bingo). She also enjoys the atmosphere and being able to socialize with other people. The staff is as friendly as ever; they're never the slightest bit harsh; even with the younger children we sometimes bring along. The only minor issue we experienced here was when my aunt's coffee mug went missing, but that issue was easily resolved. The gardens in the back behind the building and all-around scenery are gorgeous as well. Even the residents here are friendly and are always greeting younger people who pass by. If anybody were to have a friend or family member in urgent need of a nursing home, then this would be a very good choice for anybody in the area. "

"My mother moved into Redstone Highlands 4 months ago. I've never seen it. We're several thousand miles apart. We've been talking, we've had Zoom calls, we do have someone in the area who visits her through a window when she can. They've been as cooperative as they can be, like on the Zoom calls we had the guy walked around the room, and showed us the room. When she has problems we call in the nurse and ask them about it. Sometimes we talk to them and we're straight about it, she's got some memory issues so sometimes I don't believe what she's telling me. As frustrating as it is, it's been working. I think she has a deluxe personal care room, which is just a one room, and they have end units and hall units. She transferred from long-term care into assisted living. She got into the beauty salon I think once or twice. It was very nice, and she was happy about that, but she hasn't returned recently because of some incidents."
