My husband moved to the skilled nursing facility of Concordia at Bethlen for long-term care. We felt that this home met his needs better than any of the others. He is on a downward slide, so he needed secure care. He has vascular dementia with sundowning, and gets combative at other times, but they can handle his needs. The staff members are very good. They call me once or twice a day to give me updates if I'm not able to go visit. He's a diabetic, and they give him the other medications that he was on before. Everyone there who needs assistance in eating, I see the staff feeding those patients. They don't just put a tray in front of them and say, here's your dinner. They help them. He is in a private room. They also have a common area and a dining area. He's not able to walk anymore, but if he were able, he would have been able to walk in the halls with all the handrails. It's a very nice place. When you go in, there's a receptionist, and there's a lot of space for families when they want to come and visit. They have a place where you can have coffee and soft drinks. Within the unit itself, there's another kitchen area that you can use yourself, or you can come and eat with the patient, if you like. My husband could also bring his food into his room if we needed to. Right now, he's not really able to eat hardly anything because he's on a mechanical soft diet. I have tried the meals there, though, and they're very good. It always feels very good to go there because the place is very friendly. You sign a sign-in sheet, and you can buy meals there for $5. They have an activity director, and I've met her. She had me fill out papers that said what my husband liked, his background, and all of those kinds of things. They've done different things, like making pizzas with the residents. My husband is not able to do any of that, but I think the activities were really adequate. They also have a huge activity room.

This facility doesn’t provide low sodium diet only “no salt added” diet which is awful for residents. Family member gained so my weight that a trip to the ER was necessary cause they filled up with fluid! AIDS spent more time watching TV in the lobby or they were on their phones. Since this facility was sold to Concordia it is nothing but a dissapoinent.

My mother is in Bethlen Home of the Hungarian Rf skilled nursing facility in the dementia ward, which is a separate section. It has 19 rooms and it's secured. The staff is friendly and willing to help. Her room is connected to another room. It's pretty private and there's no interaction between them, but it's a shared bathroom. They have group activities, and there's a nice space for get togethers. Most of them are in wheelchairs and a lot of them have to be fed. They're understaffed. They are capable, but my dad who's 82 years old can do what we're paying these people to do for over $12,000. It's skilled nursing, but they don't bring in anything special from a skills standpoint. They're nice people, and they'll do what you ask them to do, but they don't proactively take care of all the things that need to be done.

My Mother came here about 4 years ago in rehab and unfortunately had to end up over at skilled nursing. She was an amputee patient from another home who neglected her and the best thing that happened was her coming to Bethlen. There is no skilled nursing home that is 100% but when I come up to visit, pretty much everyone has a smile on their face, very happy and upbeat. The activities people are top notch. When I return to Florida I feel confident that she is in good hands. Thank You Bethlen Staff!!!!!

I’ve seen the Bethlen Home and thought it was very nice, but they didn’t have an opening at the time. They had a list of activities, I saw the menu, and I talked to some people who had gone to rehab there. The food seemed pretty good. They’re very active and do a lot.

The people in Bethlehem Home was good and friendly. The room wasn't that great. I just didn't like the setup. However, it's a nice place and they had nice waiting rooms everywhere. They focus more on the care that's needed.
