My mom is now at Brookdale Latrobe. When we went there to look at it, it was very clean, and very well-lit. The people there were very helpful and very forthright in explaining what everything was going to happen with my mom. I didn't meet much of the staff. I met the director and the lady who was the marketer. She was our first contact. They were very good. The food was very good. They have a lot of activities for my mom to do. She broke her hip and she needs to be able to get up and go. I don't know if they have a gym, but they have a lot of activities in the morning, then between breakfast and lunch, and then between lunch and dinner. They have more activities that they get people out and they get them together and meet and greet and things like that.

We went to Brookdale Latrobe. It was very nice. The only thing that made the difference, I think, for my mom was that the place that she is at does have a little kitchen in it, and she liked that. The one at Brookdale does not have a kitchen. It was very nice and clean. We were only there for a little while, but while we were there, there was an activity, so I know they had a lot of activities. There's a hair salon onsite. I wouldn't give any of them a bad rating at all. It was just a personal choice of which room she liked better. The staff was very nice. I was there twice, and everyone was very kind. I saw the menu, and the food was fine and had a good variety.

My mother has been a resident for about 6 months now and I can say it was the hardest, but best decision we as a family made. Mom has made friends, she participates in all the fun activities and tells us even though she never wanted to leave her home, she now calls Brookdale Latrobe home! Thank you to all the friendly, caring staff for making this transition easier.

Brookdale Latrobe was absolutely beautiful and very clean. The staff was very knowledgeable. The only thing I did not like is I did not see one resident anywhere in the facility except in their bedrooms. I didn't like that because that means my mother would be sitting in her room all day until there was an activity, which I didn't really like. There was nobody in the common room sitting. There was nobody in the dining room sitting. The memory care was so locked up, you need code to get in and out, and memory care did not associate with the regular. They kept them separate. I think it would help my mother if she was with somebody that was more normal than not normal in the memory section. The staff was very knowledgeable, very nice, and gave me a lot of information. They had follow-up telephone calls, which was wonderful, but that would not be the facility for me. The dining area was neat, spacious, and clean, but we did not try the food. Everything's posted on the walls, when the activities are and what days they are. They said that they encourage everybody to go to the activities even if they don't participate. They put them in the room with the activity, which was nice, but we were there when there was not an activity, and we saw nothing going on other than the staff. There was a garden-like patio. There's one for each section because the memory care section is fenced in, so they can go out to the patio garden and sit and enjoy the weather.

I loved everything about Brookdale Latrobe except for the price. It's too high. There's just no way we can afford it, but it's beautiful. I think everybody with Alzheimer's should be able to live like that. The halls were big, open, and airy, with big windows. I didn't get to see the food, but it smelled very good. We weren't allowed where they eat because of COVID. The rooms were beautiful. The outdoors was beautiful. They're up in amongst the fields and the farmlands. The facility layout was very nice. It was easy to get to and easy to remember where everything was. The staff during the tour was great. Everybody seemed to know everybody. They have longtime people still working there, which was very impressive. They have good 20-year workers. It was my favorite out of all the three that I've seen. The dining area was very large and open. I liked it.

My sister is currently in Brookdale Latrobe. The care is good, it's better than the average-looking place. We need somewhere that will eventually take Medicaid, and they don't do that. The staff members there are generally good. Everything about the facilities seems all right there, they're adequate. They have an outdoor area that you can visit with your family member when the weather's nice. Her room is private, so she can just stay in her room unless she wants to go outside. Either one works out and is acceptable. In terms of value for the money, they're about the same as others. They give updates and send newsletters and things in the email.

My mother-in-law will be moving into Brookdale Latrobe. It's very clean, the staff was just tremendous, very helpful, and very kind, and her room would be very large. I was very impressed with the in-house physical therapy, the occupational therapy, and the activities. They have six-to-eight activities every day, which I thought was wonderful. The layout was very nice. It's all one level. There is a separate entrance for the memory care as opposed to the assisted living part, which I really like as well. We were very impressed with the facilities. They said that they would work with each person individually for their diet. They had told us that there was one lady there who likes peach cobbler, so they make peach cobbler just for her, and we were pretty happy with that.

I was surprised the general appearance of Brookdale Latrobe was very good. Paul was the person who took us around. And he was very helpful with all kinds of information not only about Brookdale but about assisted living in general. He was very knowledgeable and we were very pleased with the information we got from them. The dining area looked nice. Every day they had a schedule of activities for the residents, and therapy as well. The unit that we saw was clean, the rooms looked nice, and it didn't smell or anything. The person who accommodated us was really wonderful. He called us a couple of times to check how we are doing and to follow up regarding my mom.

Brookdale Latrobe was very nice. The staff was very welcoming. We saw people being cared for and out in the hallways, not just in the room. It was just a short visit, but the overall atmosphere was very inviting to my mom including the decorations and the music. It's got a very warm feeling and that really pleased her. They had a full activity calendar. We looked at the menu and they cook their food there and it's always fresh. The person that we worked with was very good in his presentation and not over pushing my mom even though he recommended sooner than later.

We like Brookdale and its staff. Everybody has been very helpful. It feels more homey to us without the sterility of a hospital environment. We know all of the staff, and my in-laws have only been there for a few weeks. When you walk in the front door, you will feel a more homey atmosphere. I have been there when they are eating, and my in-laws like the food. They have a large menu where you can pick between four or five choices for every meal. What we like best is that they rate the choices based on health needs. Every 30 days, they evaluate the patients to see if their needs have changed. If they go down, the cost will drop. If they go up, the cost gets higher.

My mother-in-law is in Brookdale Latrobe. It is a very nice facility. There are two facilities in the area that fits the needs and this one seems to be better and have a higher level of staffing than the other facility that we look at. I have not eaten there, but I am there last Monday when they serve lunch and it smells pretty good. I think they have good food. The dining area is set-up pretty nice. They have lots of activities. I think it has the backing of a large company that has facilities all over the country. I will recommend them to others.

This place has gone from bad to worse since Brookdale took over. This facility was formerly called Emeritus. The food has declined and worst of all resident care has severely declined. The staff has gone from semi-friendly to not friendly at all. Maybe that's because they are short staffed? They are making cuts in every way possible at this place to save money and at the same time raising the rates. You pay a lot of money for poor care. You will be given a great sales pitch on your facility tour, but what you hear is not what you get. I regret placing my relative here, it's time to find another facility.

Emeritus at Latrobe did not meet the criteria of what we were looking for. It was very nice, but we do not want an assisted living facility. The dining area and everything else was beautiful, and if I was looking for that type of facility, I would not have problems going there. The facilities that they had were wonderful. The residents seemed OK. They all looked fine. Some were playing cards, and some were doing other activities. The rooms were nice, and the staff seemed friendly enough.

My sister is here and it is a very nice place. The facilities are very clean and updated. The people working there are very friendly. We eat lunch there and the food is very good. My sister has been out on picnics. I know they have bingo. It just feels like home. I will recommend them to others.

I liked it because it was very clean. The people all seemed friendly. The rooms were bigger than I thought they would be and they really impressed me. It also surprised me because some of the ones that I looked at didn't even come close.
