I visited this facility

The rooms at Heritage Grove at Indiana are so tiny. I only talked to one person, and she was very nice. I was not impressed at all. This place had nothing. It reminds me of a nursing home, not a personal care or assisted living at all.

I visited this facility

The rooms are cleaned and have been painted and modernized. Unlike another facility where I had my mother, this one has nice bedding and furniture with drawers and large handles for my mom’s use. The closet is quite large and there is a nice-sized window for her to look out. My mother loves the quality and quantity of the food and often boasts about how good it tastes. I was visiting recently and one of the nurses brought donuts to celebrate national donut day. My mom is constantly busy at Heritage grove and often goes to play games, attends art classes, or participated in a chair exercise class. My sister and I have seen a huge difference in her mental awareness and focus since moving there. The staff are thoughtful and caring, as is the owner; this is rare to find and I appreciate all they do each day for my mother.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The building and rooms are all kept very clean and they have a great staff who are nice and helpful. The food is good and they make a variety of different things.

The building is very clean and the decorations are beautiful. All the staff are very friendly and attentive and welcoming. Mom likes the food and there are many activities throughout the day. My only concern is they need to improve keeping the family informed. Great and safe place for Mom!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I stayed in Indiana Square. I'm pretty self-sufficient. The only thing I needed help with was showering. The staff were pretty efficient when I rang the call bell. They gave me options when it was time to serve meals if I wanted to go to the dining room or if I wanted to eat in my room. They have activities and stuff there, too. I'm going to rate the food a three because I'm a picky eater. The first week that I was there, they didn't really carry a lot of fresh fruits like apples and bananas. They had games. They had arts and crafts. One time when I was there, they had Cinco de Mayo. They actually paid to get a sandwich from Burger King, so that was nice. The place was very clean. There was a really nice lobby with some couches and chairs, and they had a nice big screen TV over a fake fireplace. There were some chairs aligned along the wall. What I really liked was that the hallways were nice, wide, and square. I had to use a rollator or a walker, and that enabled me to continue doing my exercises. The people were really pleasant.
