"The rooms could use a paint job to brighten them up. The staff is always kind and accommodating when I need assistance with my family member. It is always festive looking during all the holidays for the resistant's and they definitely make an effort to try to improve the place."

"Briarcliff Pavilion is a lot better than the other places we went to or had my father in. I think the rooms are nice and comfortable. I didn't get to sample the food, but it smelled good. The staff members are all very nice and polite. It is nice and clean, and the staff is on it. "

"My dad is staying in William Penn Care Center for rehab. They've got good, friendly, attentive staff. The facility is clean and has a newer structure. It's in good shape. They do game nights and crafts. The rooms are spacious, and they could have a better layout for a two-person room."

"My father was in Woodhaven Care Center before for rehab. It was OK, but they're understaffed, and there's just not enough people. There's only one lady, and there are 40 patients, but the staff was knowledgeable. I liked the rooms; they have big windows, and the rooms get a lot of light."

"Golden Living Center is good. The apartments are good. They had activities like games, barbeques, different skills, and crafts that they learn. A doctor from the hospital refers my mother there. "

"My husband is a disabled Veteran and after many strokes I had to get help caring for him. Hemfield Manor has been a blessing for us. The rooms are clean and my husband needs are handled fast. Food is good and if he needs help the aids are fast to help. I have been in a lot of nursing homes I would rate Hemfield one of the best. K nurses always pleasant and aids take good care of my husband. When I have wanted my questions answered the nurses and aids take time to answer me. My husband loves the aids and nurses that care for him. When he falls we get a call as soon as it happens."

"My dad was at this facility after a long stay in the hospital. From the time we arrived at the facility to the time he was sent home we received top notch care. The staff cared for my dad better than we received at the hospital. My dad is a veteran and he was tickled to death the director of nursing is a veteran too. It really put my mind at ease knowing he was happy and taken care of. Thank you sooooooooo much Concordia of Monroeville. Highly recommend you to all my family and friends."

"I was so upset at first sight of this "highly rated" facility as we brought my loved one in. There is not enough staffing, and the aides are worked too hard. There are caring individuals, but almost 95% of the time your loved one is left to wander alone. No one can be taken to the bathroom while dinner is being served, while they take them to dinner, or bring them back. Elderly people must WAIT till staff is ready for them to go. Not the cleanest place either. Not enough liquids given for proper hydration. WAY too many people in the building- no personal care for anyone! Anyone who has made progress on recovery from a stroke or heart attack or injury will backslide rather than progress with healing. There is NO future in this place! Very Depressing and truly difficult to remove a loved one from once they are there. "

"We have settled on Redstone Presbyterian SeniorCare. I like that the people that are caring for my husband are very conscientious, friendly, positive, and helpful. The facility is very clean. They clean the room every day. They have cafes, they have a music room, and they have activity rooms where children can entertain themselves a little bit. There are fireplaces and sitting areas. It's very, very pleasant. Everyone is very caring, genuinely. My husband says the food is OK. It looks like a nice variety. They have a lady that runs a little cafeteria, and she makes the food fresh, and it's excellent. My husband had just moved to personal care, but he had an episode that landed him back in the hospital. He is going back to Redstone. So as far as activities go, all I've seen him do is OT and PT, but they offer things that he has not engaged in. Regarding value for money, it seems fair to me."

"My mother has moved into Westmoreland Manor. Exceptional service, exceptional help from the staff. We had a lot of help with the placement. We also had a lot of help with finances in terms of being educated about different avenues that we can pursue. As far as the staff on her floor, (like the nurses and nurses' aides, the staff, and the cafeteria staff), they have all been just really, really nice. I've gotten to know quite a few of them on a first-name basis, and I would give them my top recommendation. I would cut Mom's dinner up for her, and so I took an occasional bite to see what the food tasted like, and it was very good. My mom is gaining weight, too. I have no complaints. She eats everything on the plate, and I've never seen her do that before, so I'm sure she would evaluate it highly, too. My mom is not very mobile, so she doesn't go anywhere, but her room is adequate. I can get in there, sit down on a chair, and so on. The maintenance of the place is excellent, too. My mom refuses to go to any activities. She just wants to stay in her room. However, they're always having activities, and they're always inviting her. In that respect, I would give their activities a five. I also know a lot of people on the floor go to the activities. They have a patio. I haven't seen it yet, but I'll be taking my mom out there as the weather continues to warm up. There is also a library. I've seen the chapel, and that's very nice. Some of the activity rooms on the floor are large."

"My mother was at Lgar Health and Rehabilitation. What I liked the most was that it was a clean and well-maintained place. What I liked the least was how they did her laundry. The physical appearance was very nice. It seemed pretty clean. Their care and services were fine. They were good. However, the dining area could be a little bit cleaner. They had a beauty shop. They had several different outdoor areas for you to take your loved one or for them to go to themselves. They had different activities during the day. They had local entertainment come in."

"My mother has been a resident of Saint Anne Home. We haven't been inside, but the care has been really good. The staff members are excellent. They call if there are any changes or if there are any occurrences at all. They keep us updated. My mother's room is just a plain room and it's shared. They play bingo, they have manicures, they have reading, they have music, and things like that. I think the building has been there for awhile, but it has been remodeled."

"My mother is in The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Greater Pittsburgh. They're in the middle of renovating it, so it's improving. The outside is beautiful, and the inside needed to be upgraded, though they're well into an upgrade of the interior. I've got pretty good feelings there. They're pretty proactive with me when it comes to my mother's care, and she improved dramatically since she got there. Their rooms only have shared bathrooms. It's skilled nursing so it's pretty expensive. You're looking at $12,000 a month, which is a lot of money."

"My mother has been a resident at Kane in McKeesport for the last 7 months. Over the past several years, she has gone for rehabilitation at five different skilled nursing facilities after hospital stays. Kane is by far the best in many regards. The staff is responsive and attentive in every situation. Questions and concerns are immediately addressed. There is a physician for each wing that makes rounds 4-5 days per week. My mother says, "They really take good care of me here". Rehabilitation staff are great. I've seen many other people that I know from the area with family here, and they all concur with my opinion. Hands down, the best. "

"We chose Riverside Health and Rehab Center because we ran out of options. I liked the nurses. They are very nice to the patients and they're there for them. From the meals that my mother has had over the last 60 days or so, they looked very, very tasty and smelled very good. She was having a movie night one time. Another time they were having dinner in this big dining room. The activities for them are very good. They interact with each other. Their facilities and amenities are plentiful compared to other places that I've seen. You're getting what you're paying for."

"The thing that my family and I like most about Riverside Nursing is the variety of activities that are offered, especially bingo, because my grandmother loves bingo. The staff here also explained about the entertainment and the activities available here, such as Kennywood trips as well as luncheons. We really comfortable with the staff as they are very polite and are willing to help no matter what at the drop of a hat and we really feel that my grandmother will get the good care that she needs at this facility. "My great aunt was recently put in this nursing home, and needless to say; it is GREAT! She is always taken care of and always has ways to entertain herself there. My great aunt enjoys the food and has not lost any belongings so far (in which is what happened to other relatives in other nursing homes). There is always some kind of nightly activity for the residents to do (such as bingo). She also enjoys the atmosphere and being able to socialize with other people. The staff is as friendly as ever; they're never the slightest bit harsh; even with the younger children we sometimes bring along. The only minor issue we experienced here was when my aunt's coffee mug went missing, but that issue was easily resolved. The gardens in the back behind the building and all-around scenery are gorgeous as well. Even the residents here are friendly and are always greeting younger people who pass by. If anybody were to have a friend or family member in urgent need of a nursing home, then this would be a very good choice for anybody in the area. "
