"My mom was at Paramount Senior Living at South Hills. Everything was wonderful. It's a brand-new nursing care place. The staff members were very good. My mom enjoyed the food; all of the food was very good. She did bingo and we went to a mass. They had happy hour and social days. The activities were very good."

"I toured Brookdale Mt. Lebanon. It was a nice environment. It was open. It was bright. It was clean. Everybody seemed happy and friendly. They have activities like puzzles, rummy cube, and bowling Wii competitions. They have a movie night. They had Irish dancers in. So, it looked like there were plenty of opportunities for seniors to participate in activities. The rooms were nice. The ones that they were updating they're pretty nice rooms. The balconies are small, but I think the larger two-bedroom apartments were pretty nice. The person who assisted me during the tour was wonderful. She's very helpful and answered all of our questions."

"Paramount Senior Living at Bethel Park is a really nice, well-maintained, clean facility. It’s a really nice place. They take them out and have all kinds of activities daily. It’s a very active, inviting community. My mom is getting really good care. My mom’s room is a one-bedroom and one of the bigger and more spacious rooms that I have seen. I would definitely recommend this facility to others. "

"We toured this community today for a family member. I was extremely impressed with the community. The décor, food, social activities are amazing! The floor plan has an open and airy feeling. I felt like I was in a five star hotel! We were treated to a delicious lunch with great company from fellow residents! We plan on bringing our family member back this week to sign a lease! Highly recommend to call and tour for yourself or family member"

"When you walked into Ashton Commons Senior Living, it didn't smell like old people or pee or poop. It was beautifully laid out. The dining area was gorgeous. The rooms were very beautiful. You walked in, you had your counter and the big refrigerator. The bathrooms were nice, especially for people with walkers because my sister-in-law has a walker. We were looking for a studio, and the studio-sized bedroom was perfect. It was big enough for her, but yet not too big, and it wasn't too small. She can have a bed, a nightstand, a lift chair, a dresser, and her TV. It has lots of storage space. They have happy hour on Friday. They had a bar and karaoke. They have plenty of activities. It was overall a beautiful place. The staff seemed very happy with working. The patients were walking around. They were all smiling and saying hello. The amenities were great. I'd give the staff a ten, that's how good they were."

"My mom has moved into The Grand Residence at Upper St Clair. That place is in Pennsylvania, and I'm in Virginia; I haven't seen her since the day I put her in there. We had some issues with her medication, but the employees have been very good at communicating with us. They have been very accommodating and have us be able to communicate with our mom in regard to making phone calls or arranging FaceTime. My mom's room was very nice. They provided some appropriate furniture for her. Then I just decorated it with some things from home to make it a little bit more homey for her. I really like the contact person. She's just very open, honest, very loving, and knows every single one of the residents' names when we were there. I also met the owner, and she's also very compassionate and very involved with all of the residents at the facility. I also like that they're not a conglomerate type facility. They're kind of family owned. They only own that place, so I definitely like that aspect as well. I haven't had any experience with the food, but from my understanding, my mom eats very well. She seems to enjoy the food from what they've told me. Her room is very clean. For safety precautions, they have the WanderGuard type bands that all the residents wear that will alert them and sets off their pagers if anybody heads out the door, which my mom was doing pretty frequently the first week or two. They have private rooms with very nice bathrooms. There is a small kitchenette in each of the rooms. They have activities planned every day. They are also doing some outside activities where they take them on shopping trips. The day I dropped my mom off, they went to a museum or something that day. She hasn't participated in any of that quite yet, but she definitely has been involved in the activities, especially like arts and crafts. The main contact person and the owner have both been extremely pleasant. I've also had some contact with a few of the nurses and they've been very on top of things in regard to my mom's medications and bringing to my attention some concerns that they had about her demeanor. They also made some suggestions in regard to medication changes or other things that they could do to help relieve her anxiety."

"My mother moved into Woodcrest Senior Living Community. They take care of her pretty well. I like how clean it all was. Everybody seems so caring and their living quarters are clean and updated. Some of their activities is bingo, exercises, they have singing, there's a choir, and religious stuff like masses and religious services. My mom says the food there is good and she loves the food. As of right now I have no complaints. Their facilities are pretty modern and well-kept. In terms of value for the money, it's a little higher than some but also lower than others."

"My mother-in-law was at Paramount Senior Living at Peters Township for a short-term stay. The staff were very wonderful. I don't have anything that I didn't like. It was a good experience. Her room was very nice. It was very spacious. There was a deck, like a common area, with picnic tables and umbrellas. Of course, they'd have to have adults with her because she was in memory care, but she was able to sit outside. It was very nice and the bathroom was very spacious. One day I had lunch with her and the food was good. She enjoyed the food, too. The facility was very clean and welcoming. There was always somebody at the desk to welcome you when you came in."

"My mother-in-law moved into Harmony at Diamond Ridge. Nicole, the one who gave us the tour several times, had the biggest impact on my mother. She was very thorough, showing us the entire facility several times, answering all of the questions, providing and explaining the care my mother would be receiving, which met all of the criteria I needed for her. And so far, so good. They're wonderful, very helpful, get her down to her meals, bring her back, take her to activities, introduce her to other residents, and make her feel comfortable and at home. She loves the food. We can also eat with her if we'd like, and we have several times. The food is wonderful. They have a special every day, but there is also a completely different menu, so if it's something she doesn't like, she can order it from there. It's the cleanest facility I have been in. They have a ton of activities. They have art class, cards, and bingo. They have a coffee chat every morning, where residents can get together. They go down to the bistro and have coffee, get to know the other residents, have a snack or something, and talk, which she did, and she likes that really well. They have a lot of different activities. You get a schedule, and it's the whole day. If you want to be doing something every minute of the day, you can be. They go on outings and take them to restaurants and stores. I chose this facility because it seemed the best fit for her. The size of the facility, the staff, the director, and everyone that we have met. It just seemed like a perfect fit for her. All the facilities that I took her to, her exact words were that they felt like home to her."

"I visited Redstone Highlands at Murrysville. I liked everything about what I saw there, I thought the apartments were nice, and the amenities were very nice. And I liked it overall. I looked at the two bedrooms. The layout was very nice, and the size was very good. I liked it. The few staffers that I met were very nice and everyone was very friendly. The girl that took me around was very nice, and to all of the staff in the dining room. I saw the beauty shop and the gift shop and all that stuff. Everybody I came in contact with was wonderful. The food looked good. I saw some people eating, and what they had on their plates looked nice. The gift shop was nice because they have nice little things to buy, so you didn't have to run out. If you need toothpaste or something like that, they have a nicely stocked gift shop. The outdoor space was probably the least accommodating. They do have balconies on each of the higher levels, and the lower level, which I looked at, had a little porch off the living room, the sliding doors. But as far as the other stuff outside, they didn't have a whole lot."

"I currently own my home here at the Village of Clover Ridge. It is 55 + community. The amenities they have are a clubhouse and it has a pool table in there. They have a dining hall in there where we do the different events that they hold there, a Bocce ball, a covered picnic area with two gas ranges out there and an exercise room with equipment in there. They do recycling. They have different exercise classes like yoga. They have a book club and a coffee club. They were having different lecture series that would come through that's happened in different times. The community is pretty active, lots of people are out walking around all the time. It's very safe, very quiet with lovely neighbors. It certainly is not a shi-shi community but it's very well-kept. I have no problems with anything really, they were extremely minor. It's a very nice community. Everybody takes care of their own yard. We've got some beautiful views up here depending on where you're located. They used to take people on trips once a month. They go on outing and got a bus service up here that takes people to go shopping."

"We found Beatty Pointe Village for my mother. We chose it because right now she doesn't need assisted living. The staff seemed very helpful and accommodating. They had lots of activities, and she would be going on a efficiency room. It is not the same as having a house, but it is nice. The dining room was clean, and the food looked good. That was the one she wanted go in because she knew people there. "

"Connect55+ Penn Township is strictly an apartment. There are things that they do with residents, like arts and crafts, there is a library and things like that, but as far as the apartment, that's it. Their offer was not exactly what I was looking for. You do all the cleaning and cooking and whatever you want, but it was a very nice place. The gentleman that showed us around and the one that helps with the arts and crafts or entertainment were both very nice."

"I chose Cloverleaf Communities because it was convenient for me to move in relatively quickly. The location was really good. The people here are very friendly. They offer amenities that I needed and it fits well within my budget. They do have a lot of activities like weekly bingo and they have monthly dinners out at restaurants. They do offer a meal at the community center for a small fee. They also have different clubs such as a book club, card club, sewing club, and other things. This is definitely just for independent living and they don’t offer any kind of assistance. "
