"I have two close friends living there. One has a studio and other a one bedroom. Both apartments are quite spacious, have all the necessary qualities for a senior person. The residence is very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful to all. Even during the pandemic there was always something for the residence to do. They were kept busy and staff tried to make it seem as normal as possible. They allow friends/family to join in on many of the activities and can eat with the gifts for a reasonable fee. The food is very good and lots of choices for each meal and you can have as much as you like. The do trips to stores each week as well. The staff is friendly to both residence and their visitors and thru all that has happened this past year i can say that the residence were made comfortable, healthy, and safe. I would recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for taking great care of my two friends joan and pat."

"My daughter is a resident of Paramount Senior Living-Bethel. She had a bleeding problem, and they took her to the hospital, and they decided that she should go to nursing. She needed a regular nursing place for a while, and then she could go back to Paramount. It's a very clean place and the staff are like family. She said the food was excellent. They saved her life, and what more could you ask for? I think they have a beauty salon. One of the times I was there, I heard music going on in the dining room. They have a nice courtyard."

"My mom lived at The Grand Residence for years. Although she was resistant to leaving her home, she quickly made friends and loved everything about The Grand Residence. She loved the food, activities, staff, and her apartment. The food was so good, she never wanted to go out to eat so we would go eat with her in the dining room. She especially loved their homemade soups. She was proud of her new home, The Grand Residence, and took joy in having friends and family visit her and enjoyed showing them around the community and introducing them to all her friends (which included the other residents and their families and the staff). She also loved showing off her 1 bedroom apartment, which was just the right size for her. Mom became the unofficial welcoming committee and when someone new moved in or came to visit, she would take them under her wing to help them get acclimated. She would invite them to sit with her at a meal or an activity. She loved the activities, especially the word games like boggle, and enjoyed going out shopping to Trax Farm and other outings. When her memory started to decline, the staff were kind and patient with her even though she could be really difficult at times. The staff knew just what to do to help her and care for her. Eventually Mom needed hospice and they came right in to the Grand Residence and helped care for her. I am so grateful for The Grand Residence and all the staff because they provided the best quality of care to Mom around the clock and made the last years of her live better than I could have imagined. The nurses, aids, activities, front desk, servers, driver, housekeepers, chefs and office staff knew Mom and her needs so well ...it gave me real peace of mind. At The Grand Residence, Mom lived her best life! "

"South Hills Square Retirement Community is brand new. I like it. They're very clean, and they have very happy, positive, upbeat people who live on-site and who are also in charge. I feel that's really important because you don't want it to be like a dismal type of place to live. The apartments were so nice, extremely clean, and spacious. They had a barbecue area, a movie theater, nice dining facilities, a billiard room, and common areas."

"My mom was at Paramount Senior Living at South Hills. Everything was wonderful. It's a brand-new nursing care place. The staff members were very good. My mom enjoyed the food; all of the food was very good. She did bingo and we went to a mass. They had happy hour and social days. The activities were very good."

"We toured The Residence at Whitehall. They were very nice, but they were above what we could afford. They showed us the studio apartment, which would have been too small for us. We saw the common areas like the lobby, the dining areas, and the craft rooms. They were well-maintained."

"Brookdale Mt. Lebanon was very nice. It's just a little bit out of my price range. The people there were very pleasant. The staff was very polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. The layout was nice. It's a few levels and that's one thing I'm looking for. The place is also very clean. They have a hair salon and, I believe they have an indoor swimming pool."

"I toured Chartiers Bend Retirement Community. I like the location especially and the fact that it's presumably newer. It's only been there for four or five years. The place was spotless. I had brunch there one day, and the food was very good. The people seemed very nice. I like the apartment they showed me. They offer basic services. You can get your meals, and all your meals are included. They have a valet service that's included, too. Other than that, they don't have any care or anything like that. The staff who gave the tour was very nice. She was very friendly and very outgoing. She wanted to make sure I knew everything that I needed to know about the place. She introduced me to some of her staff, and they were very nice, too."

"My mother-in-law stayed at Paramount Senior Living at Peters Township. It's a very clean facility and has a very professional staff. It seems like a very good place for my mother-in-law to be in. Her room is a suite. It has an area for her bed, a table, and a small kitchenette. There's a bathroom. It's very nice. It's reasonable compared to other places. It was cheaper than some and more expensive than others, but the facility was so nice. We chose it because of how nice it was inside."

"I went for a tour at Mount Vernon, and the staff was very informative. The place looked nice. Unfortunately, they were a lot older, and my brother-in-law was only 56. Most of these places had elderly people in there, and I was hoping to find something that might have a various age levels. The apartment was fine. We went on the day they had an Easter breakfast with the bunny. It was nice that the head nurse or whatever brought her dogs in every day. They had activities planned, and she showed me the calendar. "My mother-in-law moved into Harmony at Diamond Ridge. Nicole, the one who gave us the tour several times, had the biggest impact on my mother. She was very thorough, showing us the entire facility several times, answering all of the questions, providing and explaining the care my mother would be receiving, which met all of the criteria I needed for her. And so far, so good. They're wonderful, very helpful, get her down to her meals, bring her back, take her to activities, introduce her to other residents, and make her feel comfortable and at home. She loves the food. We can also eat with her if we'd like, and we have several times. The food is wonderful. They have a special every day, but there is also a completely different menu, so if it's something she doesn't like, she can order it from there. It's the cleanest facility I have been in. They have a ton of activities. They have art class, cards, and bingo. They have a coffee chat every morning, where residents can get together. They go down to the bistro and have coffee, get to know the other residents, have a snack or something, and talk, which she did, and she likes that really well. They have a lot of different activities. You get a schedule, and it's the whole day. If you want to be doing something every minute of the day, you can be. They go on outings and take them to restaurants and stores. I chose this facility because it seemed the best fit for her. The size of the facility, the staff, the director, and everyone that we have met. It just seemed like a perfect fit for her. All the facilities that I took her to, her exact words were that they felt like home to her."

"The rooms that they showed us at Graceful Care Living just had a bed in them, and that's it. We knew immediately when we got there that that wasn't what we were looking for. The staff mentioned that they have another section for people who are more independent. However, it was still somewhat the same concept. Instead of being in a room, like a small, single room, there were two beds. There was no television in those independent rooms. You have to go out of the room to watch television. It was that type of atmosphere, and my mother doesn't want that. She wants something that's like a small apartment, where she can live in that small space and be able to care for herself. I liked the atmosphere. I liked the staff. They're very nice and very accommodating as we went through the tour. My mom asked questions, although she didn't ask very many because she knew, and I could tell just from how she was withdrawn that she was like, "No, this is not going to work for me." I said it to the guy. I said, she's a lot more independent. She can get around fairly well, but this is not for her. She still needs to be in her own place where she can take care of herself. The only thing that she needed was somebody to help her, like to come in and help her to make sure that she's taking her meds. I didn't smell anything. It was very clean."

"My visit to Point Pleasant Retirement Community was beautiful. The people were courteous and the place was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were very spacious and clean. They have a salon and a balcony area outside where the people can entertain. The eating facility was big and beautiful, and they had coffee and cookies for the residents, which was really nice. They also have a courtesy vehicle that takes residents shopping and to their doctors' appointments."

"My mom has moved into Harmony at Harts Run. It's easy to get to and it's close to other family members. It's a new building. It's fresh and easy to get around. So far, the staff members are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Also it seems that they have at least two activities in the morning and three activities in the afternoon/early evening. They have a salon and a small gym, too. The food is excellent. There are lots of choices."

"I saw Apple Blossom and thought that it was very, very clean. I was very impressed, it was really well-run, and the people were very nice. Any questions that we had, the staff answered, they showed us around, and they were just very helpful. They told us exactly about their activities and what they do. My mom is a late sleeper, they said they wouldn't wake her up just because it's breakfast, they would save her food and when she got up she'd be able to go and eat. Overall, it's a wonderful place. They have doctors, there's a pharmacy, they do laundry there and other amenities."

"When you walked into Ashton Commons Senior Living, it didn't smell like old people or pee or poop. It was beautifully laid out. The dining area was gorgeous. The rooms were very beautiful. You walked in, you had your counter and the big refrigerator. The bathrooms were nice, especially for people with walkers because my sister-in-law has a walker. We were looking for a studio, and the studio-sized bedroom was perfect. It was big enough for her, but yet not too big, and it wasn't too small. She can have a bed, a nightstand, a lift chair, a dresser, and her TV. It has lots of storage space. They have happy hour on Friday. They had a bar and karaoke. They have plenty of activities. It was overall a beautiful place. The staff seemed very happy with working. The patients were walking around. They were all smiling and saying hello. The amenities were great. I'd give the staff a ten, that's how good they were."

"My mom moved into Woodcrest Senior Living Community last Monday. I love the community. It's safe. The employees are completely wonderful. They're all polite and accommodating. I've never seen a high level of care. The place is clean as clean can be. They have a chapel. They have a lot of Christian-based things going on there, like Bible studies, which I like. It's great. There's nothing I don't like about it. It's beautiful. And they do everything for my mom. The staff is great. I've never seen people like that. They're polite and well-groomed. They do their job, and it's amazing. I've never really seen anything like this because I've gone to some places and been in places where people are taken care of, and it's way above the rest. They have all kinds of activities. They have bingo and games. They have a puzzle room. They have a chapel. They have church on Sundays for the people. They have music. Sometimes people come in and play. They had a chalk artist there last week. There's always something going on. They post activities every day, what's going on, what time and where, so people can go to what they want to be a part of. It's nice. We compared it with other homes out in the area. This place is way above the rest. It's an amazing place."

"We went to Vanadium Woods, and that seemed to be we thought where we might go. It seemed to have the most of everything, and that seemed to be our choice in the end. The rooms were nice and alright. The small rooms were almost too small, but the 2-bedroom rooms were just about right. They had a lot of activities, and they had a vehicle that would take you either to a doctor or to shopping. There was no charge which seemed to be good. They have a couple of banks that would come to the place. They had a main dining room, a little workout room, bikes you could ride, and things you could walk on. "
