"I have Home Matters PIttsburgh, PA aide coming in for my father. It's more custodial care. We essentially have a chaperone for home safety. They are also able to coordinate with a driver. The aide went with him to get his hair cut. They're also doing light housework, of sweeping, doing the dishes, or making the bed. We have one caregiver, who is the primary caregiver, and my dad enjoys his company. Their management is always in contact if the caregiver were to call off or be late, so they are prompt with communication."

"I’ve been pleased with Right at Home. Most of the caregivers had been fine; I had a little trouble with one, but it wasn’t serious. It was just for companionship, and I chose them because they were local. I would like them to improve on notification when someone can’t come; oftentimes, they don’t tell you until the last minute. "

"We have Always Best Care of Pittsburgh. They help my mom with whatever she needs, like a run to the store, making food, laundry, and that sort of thing. I haven't had any trouble with the agency. We've had two to three different caregivers, they're always good and on time. They come three times a week for four hours a day."

"The caregivers that assist my parents are there 5 days a week/ 3 hours per day. They cook dinner each day (pre agreed menu options), they do light cleaning to include dusting, wiping up floors, cleaning bathroom, ironing, changing sheets, doing laundry and once or twice a week they do grocery shopping for staple items( milk, bread, eggs, lunchmeat, ice cream etc). After the first two weeks one of the caregivers decided to leave..so that was a minor hiccup but the Client Care Coordinator has been terrific. She’s responsive, proactive and very easy to work with. I appreciate our line of communication with each other. The two caregivers that we now have arrive on time and my parents have really adapted to having them there. We are very pleased with our choice of selecting to work with Home Instead for our parents. "

"My father is using Senior Helpers. Eating is becoming an issue. His caregiver is an excellent cook, and she's very good at keeping track of him and working with him. I don't have any complaints about her at all. I enjoyed working with the supervisor. The caregiver pays attention to him, knows where he is at all the time, has a lot of common sense, and follows my directions. Communication is much better. They check in with me every couple of weeks. We have home visits from the president of the company on a regular basis, and he seems very caring and very educated about the disease process. I am satisfied."

"I think Helping Hand is pretty good. I used them for about a month. There was a case where I decided I did not want to use a particular aide. I called them that I didn't want to use the person so they could tell her. But apparently, they did not let her know and the aide still came. So I suppose communication would be a thing to improve on. The personality of the aide was fine, but I don't think she really knew what she was doing. "
