"Overlook Green is beautiful and large, with very caring and accommodating people. The food is very good, and the dining area looks like a restaurant with several tables and is very spacious. Mom's room is adequate in size. With her queen size bed in it, there's still plenty of space. I fell in love with this place. "

"My mom moved in. So far, so good. We had a couple of glitches, but other than that, it was fine. It's hard during the quarantine because she can't meet anybody, but the staff has been great. They've been wonderful helping around. She loves the food, and it's much more than what she normally eats. She's not used to eating three or four meals a day, so she picks at what she can, but she says it's very good. It's a beautiful place, clean, and well kept. She got a studio, which is quite large, it has a big window, a small refrigerator, and a microwave. There's plenty of room, a nice closet, and a big bathroom. It's bigger than I thought it was going to be, and she has everything she needs."

"I like the layout of The Residence at Whitehall. Since I'm one of the new members to come in there, I got my apartment at the back of the building, which is good because you don't get the traffic noise on Route 51. It's also pet-friendly. I'm moving in on May 30. Shelly has been very helpful in telling me what I need to do ahead of time, so I'd give her a 5. I had a couple of lunches there and enjoyed them."

"My mom is in Whitetail Springs Assisted Living and Memory Care. It's a very nice facility. It is clean and well-staffed. They have activities that they actually do unlike other places that say they have activities, but don't do anything. The care is 100 percent better overall, compared to where she was. The food is standard. It has a nice variety and seems to be a decent diet. It's unlike some of the other places that serve them chicken nuggets. They have what they call a sensory spa, which is a room with different things all happening at once. They try to get their senses going. They have a lot of nice outdoor areas that are all enclosed and gated. They have a nice dining hall and a nice activitiy room."

"I have been to Brookdale for my cousin. It was probably the most beautiful out of all the places I visited. The staff and the people that I spoke with were wonderful. We almost got my cousin in there. It was beautiful, but the cost was the big factor. It was a very nice place, and it had everything anybody would want. They were playing bingo when we were there. They have outings and entertainment on certain days, a beautiful library, a beatiful indoor swimming pool, physical rehab, and a restaurant for the people there, plus a cafeteria where you can have sandwiches for yourself if you don’t want to eat in the dining room. We saw several rooms, and they seemed very nice and a little bit larger than what my cousin has now. It had a very nice little kitchen area and nice bathroom. It was beautiful. "

"I like Mount Vernon of Elizabeth because it's close to where I live. It was just a nice facility. The staff were also nice. They took us around and showed us the room. It's really friendly for seniors and people who have had a stroke. They keep them secure so they can't get out or wander. They have a lot of activities. "

"Mom moved into Sterling Home last September. The place is nice and the rooms are decent. The only thing I have is that if you want a room with a bathroom, you have to pay more. If not, you have to use the community bathroom. I like the staff. They do care about the residents, and I've never seen them mistreat anyone. I know that my mother has never felt mistreated. As far as the services, they wash her clothes, make sure that she gets her meds, and they provide her with meals. I'm pretty much satisfied with the services that she receives. There are no activities going on there. They are indicating that most of the residents don't want to participate. The dining area is clean, but I think the selection could be better."

"My aunt is at Sycamore Estate Inc. I was very impressed with it. It was very bright, very clean, comfortable, and very welcoming to my aunt, which was very reassuring for us. They helped her settle in very well. They provided all of the services that we were looking for at a very good price, and she is happy there. She says that the food is quite good. She has a shared room, and it was very neat and comfortable. It looked very nice to me, but they were doing renovations to put in a lot of improvements, which I thought was really impressive. It's a very well-kept and well-run facility. The staff is very professional, very knowledgeable, very friendly, accessible, and responsive. She is such a picky eater, and she has not offered any complaints."

"My mother-in-law moved into Harmony at Diamond Ridge. Nicole, the one who gave us the tour several times, had the biggest impact on my mother. She was very thorough, showing us the entire facility several times, answering all of the questions, providing and explaining the care my mother would be receiving, which met all of the criteria I needed for her. And so far, so good. They're wonderful, very helpful, get her down to her meals, bring her back, take her to activities, introduce her to other residents, and make her feel comfortable and at home. She loves the food. We can also eat with her if we'd like, and we have several times. The food is wonderful. They have a special every day, but there is also a completely different menu, so if it's something she doesn't like, she can order it from there. It's the cleanest facility I have been in. They have a ton of activities. They have art class, cards, and bingo. They have a coffee chat every morning, where residents can get together. They go down to the bistro and have coffee, get to know the other residents, have a snack or something, and talk, which she did, and she likes that really well. They have a lot of different activities. You get a schedule, and it's the whole day. If you want to be doing something every minute of the day, you can be. They go on outings and take them to restaurants and stores. I chose this facility because it seemed the best fit for her. The size of the facility, the staff, the director, and everyone that we have met. It just seemed like a perfect fit for her. All the facilities that I took her to, her exact words were that they felt like home to her."

"My dad is living at Juniper Village at Forest Hills. It's OK, but they don't quite live up to their reputation. They're better than a lot of places, but not as good as what they're advertising, so I'm a little disappointed in that. The amenities are not great but good. My dad's room is smaller than what he left."

"The rooms that they showed us at Graceful Care Living just had a bed in them, and that's it. We knew immediately when we got there that that wasn't what we were looking for. The staff mentioned that they have another section for people who are more independent. However, it was still somewhat the same concept. Instead of being in a room, like a small, single room, there were two beds. There was no television in those independent rooms. You have to go out of the room to watch television. It was that type of atmosphere, and my mother doesn't want that. She wants something that's like a small apartment, where she can live in that small space and be able to care for herself. I liked the atmosphere. I liked the staff. They're very nice and very accommodating as we went through the tour. My mom asked questions, although she didn't ask very many because she knew, and I could tell just from how she was withdrawn that she was like, "No, this is not going to work for me." I said it to the guy. I said, she's a lot more independent. She can get around fairly well, but this is not for her. She still needs to be in her own place where she can take care of herself. The only thing that she needed was somebody to help her, like to come in and help her to make sure that she's taking her meds. I didn't smell anything. It was very clean."

"My mom is at the place called The Haven. It is nice for the price, which is reasonable: $3,000 for rent; and maybe $250 for the level of care; and $20 for table. It is well kept with nice people and good food. The rooms are large. "
