We moved my father into Overlook Green on September 2, 2017 from another assisted living residence. The staff at Overlook Green treated my father with such compassion and respect. My father passed on October 26, 2017 from his illness, the staff and 365 Hospice could not have been more compassionate towards me and my siblings. I had previous experience with Overlook Green when my mother in law was a resident for two years. I would highly recommend Overlook Green when the time comes to place your loved one.

Overlook Green was a nice facility. It has a nice setting. The outside looks really good. The maintenance on the inside can be touched up with paint a little bit here and there, but it's not bad. It's still very nice. They gave you more of an institutionalized feeling because the ceiling was so high. It didn't feel homey and cozy. It's like a hospital. The staff members are all very nice.

I toured Overlook Green. They had four different levels of assisted living in their program, and I appreciated that. And I can walk to it from my home. It's bright and clean. They had a lot of activities. It's a very clean and nice place. It's one floor, so my mom would not have to navigate stairs or an elevator or anything. It's a very good tour. The staff was a very nice person. I think the rooms were big. They have furniture or you can bring your own furniture. They have showers and toilets. They're spacious. In the units, you can have a TV if you like that. I thought that the rooms were nice. Some are carpeted, and some are hardwood floors. My mother prefers having the room carpeted. Overlook Green is the most convenient for me. If Mom needs anything, she can call me and I can be there within minutes. The staff were friendly. And they have a set program also for picky eaters.

My father was there for 2 months. During that time he went from being able to walk, talk, dress himself, and manage his personal hygiene to being severly dehydrated, emaciated, going into renal failure, developing a stage 3 open wound and catching Covid-19. My father was finally sent to an ER, and we were told that he was within days of death. We requested his room belongings, and found that he still had his 2-months past admission date written on his wipe-off board, so he had no idea of the month or day. No one hung his calendar or pictures or cork boards, even though we were told such things would be done. We brought him a telephone with large buttons, and it was still in the box. The day that he was admitted be had to wait 30 minutes for assistance in the bathroom. We thought that was an anomaly. From what we've seen in my dad's decline, negligence is standard operating procedure. We contacted the corporate office only to be given the run around. The call center representatives will tell you that you'll be connected to a "gold star" representative. What actually happens is that you are connected to voice mail and no one returns your call. This nightmarish facility is run by 5 Star. That name is misleading. It should be "Death Star."

My grandmother was a resident at Overlook Green for a year or so and during that time during visits my grandmother seemed to be doing ok there. We had the occasional call from Overlook staff complaining about my grandmother's occasional bad mood, but mostly it was fine. About 3 weeks ago, because of 1 complaint made by another resident's family member, Overlook Green mangement and staff decided that the best care for my grandmother with moderate dementia was to kick her out of their facility. Long story short, my family tried to talk and meet numerous times with the staff and management at Overlook to no avail.; they succeeded and my grandmother has been removed and placed in another home, per their recommendation, in a home nearby to what Overlook advised 'was best for a dementia patient [like my grandmother]'. Its been 2 weeks since my displaced grandmother has been in this 'Overlook-recommended' home and she has fallen twice and been hospitalized both times, been drugged to where she cannot eat or talk to my family any longer, and now has pneumonia and will start hospice next week. So if you're asking if I recommend Overlook Green, I do not. We apparently had the wool pulled over our faces in the beginning because Overlook has shown their true colors.

Overlook Green was very good, nice, and clean, and everyone was very friendly. It was like a retirement community that you would go to Florida to live. It was beautiful. The staff was very courteous, everything was prompt, on time and on schedule, and they were very helpful. I was very impressed.

I didn’t notice any odor at Overlook Green, and the place seemed to be very clean. A friend of mine has her mother there, and she told me how happy her mother has been living there. But my mother was going to be a permanent resident, so we wanted her to have enough room, and their rooms were very tiny.

Overlook Green is beautiful and large, with very caring and accommodating people. The food is very good, and the dining area looks like a restaurant with several tables and is very spacious. Mom's room is adequate in size. With her queen size bed in it, there's still plenty of space. I fell in love with this place.

Overlook Green is very professional, and the overall place is bright and inviting. They inspired confidence that my mother-in-law would be well taken care of. My husband had dinner there, and he said it was great. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and experienced.

Overlook Green was OK, and the people that I talked to were very informative. However, the rooms were small, and I don’t think I would consider that.

My mom is at Overlook Green. The layout is very nice. It's actually a converted elementary school. They have all the common areas and dining room in the center, which makes it nice. They can go from the dining room to the main room where they have television and next to that they have a library and an activity room. They have full-time activity coordinators who do a really nice job and have a lot of religious opportunities with rosary, Bible study, and worship service on-site, which meant a lot to my mother. They take you down to a very nice dining room and have very good food with lots of choices. They have on-site physical therapy and a visiting counselor. They have doctors that roam and if Mom needs an x-ray, they have a mobile x-ray unit that comes to the site and does x-rays. They're really a good bargain. We're so pleased with them and everything they do.

My mom has only been at Overlook Green for five days, but so far it’s been very good. It’s very light, bright, and without a smell. Her room large enough to use her walker and has a private bathroom. The people working there are very nice, very congenial, and very nice. Dan was very easy to deal with. They also are helping us with getting my mother Veterans Administration, and if her money runs out, they will help us with Medicaid. The one thing I don’t like that I’ve seen and didn’t notice at first is there are a lot of people in wheelchairs, and I wonder if that is because that’s where they have to be or if they’re more a trip and fall risk, which sort of scares me. As long as my mother can walk with her walker, I would prefer that, but they have not stated anything like that, and she’s using her walker and getting around. The doctor there prescribed a healthcare nurse for four to six weeks to help my mother adjust. They said they do that with most people, which makes sense since one doctor cannot keep track of all those people. It’s very big and all on one floor which I also liked. When you walk in, there’s a desk where you sign in and out as a guest, and one big room that has bookshelves and TVs. Then, you walk into another big room where they have entertainment every Thursday, which my mother was very excited about. She went on Thursday and was really excited. The dining room is very nice. I just got their next activity calendar and saw some things that would interest my mother. They do exercises every morning at 10:00, a therapy dog comes in every Sunday at 3:00, and there are ice cream socials. The food seems great with my mom. After the first day or so, and then Thursday after the entertainment, she said to me, “You know, this really is a nice place.” The common rooms are very big and have a lot of couches and chairs. If I come to visit my mother, we don’t have to sit in her room; we can come out and sit in the other rooms. After we visited five or six places in our area, this was the one that I thought was the best and so did my mom. When she walked into the room and saw it, she came home and said to us, “You know, those rooms are going to go fast and maybe we should think about me.” There’s like an alcove and a separate place to put a bed and a night stand. My mother was adamant about not wanting a roommate, and although it is expensive and she doesn’t really have a lot of money, that was her choice and I chose to go with that. We went to some places that even in a private room, there was a shared bath.

What we liked about Overlook Green is that it was clean, didn’t smell, and was well-staffed. The price was also right.

The majority of workers at Overlook Green were truly concerned with the welfare of my mother. The apartment looks OK to me. Sometimes the food agrees with their pallet. My mother likes some of the staff, and some of staff, she doesn’t like. It’s an older building; it was a converted elementary school, and it’s clean. That was most the important feature. We are very much satisfied with it.

My father lives here. I take my cues from him and he had immediately adapted to his new surroundings with a smile and a deep contentment. You find more women than men in these homes, but much to my surprise and joy there are quite a few men living here. A few are my dad's buddies. This is very nice to see! A plus @ this residence is the full staff of nurses working on every shift. The administrative and management staff know my father and other residents, they are conscientious and diligent in their care for your loved ones. I observe the staff working very hard and consistently to provide a "home" away from home for him. The atmosphere is homey and clean and pleasant. Spiritual needs are met for different religions and there is always activity, entertainment, solitude and good food. I would most assuredly encourage families to take a visit and consider this place for your own loved one.

Overlook Green seemed very nice, and the people who work there was very nice. I think the rooms are OK. They're fine. They're kind of like a hotel room, but I guess that's to be expected. I like the location. It's close to South Hills.

Everyone at Overlook Green is very friendly and warm. My mother-in-law is in there and the place is very nice. It's clean, bright, and cheerful. They almost have all of the things you want for your loved one to have. Her room is very nice and clean. For the most part, she doesn’t complain about the food. It's taking her a while to get used to the situation and I would say we are not there yet. They have bingo and I think they also do some Wii games. I also think they do some craft and they have ice cream nights. They really try to keep the residents very busy.

Overlook Green was one of the facilities that were referred to us by an online senior care directory. I like the location because it's like five minutes from my house. Their price is one of the better prices among the facilities I visited. The staff was okay but I just thought the place was kind of cold looking. They're bland and their rooms were really small too. For activities, I only saw them playing bingo. I would recommend this facility to somebody else but not to my family.

My brother is in Overlook Green. What I like best about this facility is the friendliness of the place and the fact that the patients are all out everyday in the living room or the dining room. Even in the middle of the night, if my brother is out walking, he would say that there are people down there watching TV. Their rooms are comfortable. With regards to staff, there is always a nurse going. Even near the dining room, she's down there at lunch time passing pills out. There are a lot of attentions to the patients there at Overlook Green. My brother is really happy with this facility.

I needed a place to stay and it just so happened that Overlook Green had a vacancy, that's why I ended moving there. I've been in this facility since September. It is mainly a senior community; however, it is really hard for me being here. The average age of most of the residents here would be 80. I'm only 62 and disabled, so there's really not much I can do except play bingo. There's really not a whole lot going on here. The building itself is old and needing a lot of work. They are able to maintain it as much as they can though. However, there's too many gravel roads and less paved walkways, so it is really difficult to go around this facility. With regards to the staff, I think they care a lot for their residents. They really want to help the people, but I think they need some better training regarding some disease processes.

I wasn't really impressed with Overlook Green. It just seemed like the people were very down and it was mostly all women so it wouldn't be a good place for my father. They all had to go breakfast and lunch at the same time; it was like prison. The location is close to where we live and it's right in the middle of a residential area. It's pretty but it didn't provide many services there, anything you wanted besides room and board was extra. Those people need to have more activities or something. It just didn't seem like an upbeat or happy place.

I think Overlook Green is an excellent place. As far as the quality of the product that they provide, we have nothing but good things to say about what we saw there. I'm pretty much satisfied with the place. The overall cleanliness was good. The attentiveness of the staff to the patients, on my short visit, appeared to be excellent.

I thought this was a lovely facility, although a bit small compared to others we visited. However, if you're looking for something smaller and more cozy and family oriented, this is the place. The smaller environment makes for a friendly, family feel amongst the staff and residents. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and seemed to be very attentive to all of the needs of the residents. There was an abundance of activities scheduled for the residents, and they all seemed happy and to be enjoying themselves. The building and rooms were decorated nicely, although a bit old and dusty feeling. The rooms were small but cozy and nice. The food was good, not great. The staff at this location is what sets it above and beyond. They were very friendly.

The staff was very friendly and took very care of the patients there. There were many activities for my grandmother to participate in, such as bingo and ice cream Sundays. She enjoyed every one of them. She made many friends there. We visited once a week and my grandmother was always clean and wearing clean clothes and her hair was always done. She would sometimes cut our visit short so that she could go enjoy an activity or go to dinner which she also looked forward to. She sometimes suffered from paranoia and tried to leave the building thinking she needed to go to the bank. The facility responded by putting a bracelet on her that would set off an alarm when she tried to run away. We were allowed to check her out when we wanted to. We were very happy with her care there.
