"We went to Whispering Oaks in person. The staff was friendly. The rooms were very nice, but one thing I saw was they had just cleaned the carpets. The day before, and when we were touring them, the carpets were kind of bubbling up a little. It could have been a possible tripping hazard, but maybe they settled after they cleaned them. Other than that, it was very clean. They said they have a place to go at the back, but we didn't see the back part of it. When you walked in, there was a welcome desk there. The girl that worked behind the desk was very friendly and we had a gentleman show us around who was a temporary fill-in traveling person there. It's very welcoming. We got there right before dinnertime, so as we were leaving, everybody was gathering down to the dining hall, but we didn't see anyone out doing any activities or anything. They have a bus that takes people to doctor appointments or to outside activities. The rooms were very nice. The one that they showed us was a one-bedroom. When you walk in, it's just a small kitchen area, open living area, a bedroom, and a separate bathroom. It came with a refrigerator. They had a big pool table on one of the floors, a lounge area, a library area, and a little movie room."

"The Lakes at Jefferson was wonderful. I loved it, but I don't think my parents are quite ready yet to be put into something like that. It was beautiful. The people were very friendly. It was a good experience. The staff who accommodated me was very knowledgeable. She was very caring. She took time to kind of get to know my parents' situation, and she was very helpful. The rooms beautiful and very clean. They're like apartments. They have three options. Meals are provided. They have transportation, and they do housekeeping once a week. It's a smaller facility, so it's really nice. It's not overcrowded. They have a garden out back, and the residents can plant things. It seems like they have a lot of activities."

"Park Vista of Youngstown had some wonderful facilities. The staff was very nice, accommodating, and very friendly, and the place was very impressive. The room had a great view, the dining facilities looked appetizing, and they had a broad array of activities, like movies and meetings. They also had a pool. It seemed to be a very sociable place."

"We've placed my aunt in Sycamore Place. It was very clean and very inviting, and the management is very professional. They were very helpful. I met the manager and she was very informative, showed me around, and was very personable. She went above and beyond to help us get in earlier than we anticipated. The rooms were all set up the same. It's not overly spacious, but spacious enough for comfortable senior living. The air quality was good, the rooms were clean, and it was just a nice environment. They have public transportation aside from activities."

"I had a family member live here until she passed away. Her quality of life in the end was amazing. She had so many friends and attended so many activities. The activities were phenomenal especially the Second Wind Dreams that the facility held for the different people. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking of how happy she was. The Shepherd of the Valley staff always made us feel like family and were always kind. You can tell they they are truly their because they care."

"Liberty Arms is a beautiful place. However, they didn't seem to think they can handle my mom's needs. It was kind of they've already made up their mind before they came to see her. And I know they gave her a very good evaluation. The rooms there were kind of odd-shaped with an odd setup. The staff would make sure everybody gets down to the dining room during meal time, and if somebody is missing they'll go look for them. Or if someone would need assistance they'll take them to the dining area. "
