"Overall we are very pleased with the care our loved one has received at Danbury. What we especially like is the staff keeps the residents involved with daily activities. They are constantly involved and are not just sitting in their room. The challenge always with a facility like this is human resources and Danbury has this challenge as well, but for the most part the staff is very aware and compassionate. Our loved one is in the memory care unit and we feel he is very safe and secure in this unit. We chose Danbury because of strong recommendations from friends and family. We have been pleased with our choice and would recommend Danbury without reservation."

"Our visit at Danbury Woods in Cuyahoga Falls was very good. They had a good social thing, a very good food program, and nice rooms. It was a much smaller facility, so there wasn't a lot of extra room for activities. The person who assisted perspective customers was exceptionally well-informed. We were favorably impressed with the facility and the few people we did speak with."

"My wife and I both live here in Springwood of Hudson and what it affords us to do is that we no longer have to take care of a house or a lawn or anything like that. Everything here is provided and they take very good care of the building. Your rent includes all problems. We had a microwave go out and they came in and fixed it. It didn't cost me anything because it's part of living here. The other thing that's really nice is it's a really good community. There's a lot of people here that we've met we've become friends with. There is indoor parking, which is something you don't find anywhere. So in the wintertime, that's really nice. The staff takes good care of us. They come in and clean the apartment twice a month. We have all sorts of group activities, which keeps us active and that's what we love about the place. They do not provide meals. Since it's independent living, you cook your own meals and my wife and I do. They cater in lunch twice a month. Everything is provided when you move in. You have a washer and dryer in the apartment, so you don't have to go to a laundry room or anything like that, which makes it really nice and convenient. The lady who runs the building, Tammy, does a great job of keeping everything moving. They have a maintenance guy that's in the building and he's here five days a week, and he comes in on the weekends if something happens and takes care of the building. They have two people on the cleaning staff and they clean all 60 apartments twice a month for everybody. They do a really good job of keeping this place nice. They have activities that are brought in from the outside two or three times a month. They have trips where they will take people out. They'll have a bus and you can go on bus tours and go on trips. There's a lot of activities run by the residents. For instance, card games in the evening are run by residents. We make up our own activities. They do a good job of trying to keep people entertained. You get a lot of value for what you get, but it is pricy. There is a pond out front and there is also a patio in the back with a grill and a firepit. There are things that you can do outside, and a lot of times people sit outside and have lunch. They bring their lunch down, or they will use the grill that's provided. You can fire it up and cook your own meals down there if you like."

"My mother has been a resident at Danbury in Hudson for 4 months now since needing more care and assistance with medications. She was previously in Springwood, the sister facility for independent living. The transition to Danbury was easy and well-managed by the staff and administration. The staff (nurses, care-givers, dining, maintenance, and front desk/office) have been simply OUTSTANDING. I really can't say enough about how friendly and kind every single person has been to my mom. My sister and I rest much easier knowing she's getting the care and attention she needs. The activities are frequent and varied. In hindsight for my mom wishes she had moved to Danbury sooner. My sister and I advocated for it but mom was too happy with her apartment and friends at Springwood. If she had moved a bit sooner, she would have had an easier time getting into all the activities and options available. The other residents are all friendly and welcoming. The facilities are quite lovely. The common spaces allow for plenty of space to visit with friends and family. The rooms vary in size and most tend to be on the smaller side. That worried mom at first, but her studio apartment is set up quite nicely for her needs and she's quite happy with it. I think the food is above average for an assisted living facility. I like it. The combination of the dining room plus a mix of happy hours, mixers, ice cream Sunday bars, etc. provide good variety. I'll repeat the most important part, the staff, especially the nurses, care-givers and dining staff, are so welcoming, kind, and helpful. It's truly impressive to see, and I'm very thankful."

"Cardinal Retirement Village was very nice, and I really had no complaints about it. They had nice staff and a lovely atmosphere. It was quite cozy and felt very homey. The staff was great, and the rooms were very nice and bright. It was a lovely place. "

"We chose Summit Point Living because of the activities, the cleanliness of the place, and the size of the apartments. It's also close to her church. The staff are wonderful. My mom is staying in a one-bedroom apartment with a living room, a dining room and a kitchen. It also has a very nice large bathroom. "

"I went to Vitalia Senior Residences of Solon. I talked with one of the admissions people, but they were way out of our price range. The staff members were very friendly from the tours that I took. I didn't get to see them interact with anybody. I went there because they had sent out mailings and I got a mailing in my home. One of their staff members put on a presentation about downsizing. I was kind of interested in that and that's why I went in the first place. I just saw the rooms from the doorway, but I didn't see a lot. However, the staff member who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable, very informative, and very kind. There was an exercise room, too."

"I loved what I saw in Hamlet at Chagrin Falls. I saw people actually doing stuff, meaning the actual residents. I saw them actually participating in programs, participating in therapy, getting out in the atrium, waving at people as they walked by their room. There is an area where the carpet has split in a main area, which especially for those who have walkers or have a hard time walking because, like my stepmom, have Parkinson's. Not having that taken care of immediately to me is a safety concern. But as far as what I saw, and the friendliness, not just of the staff, of the residents that were there, kind of let me know that the residents that live there actually are extremely happy with being there. I don't know if it's also because it's a wooded environment, it's a nice tucked away little place that's kind of in nature, which is pretty nice. So it's a nice place. I actually like it. We had a receptionist when we came through, and I don't know if it was due to race, but as soon as we came through, she said, "Oh, are you the aides?" And we're like, "No, we're here to tour the facility," so just being conscientious of, you know, each person that comes to the door as a person and, you know, just checking in with them. "Hello, how may I help you? What can I help you with?" versus, are you the aides? So that was one of the things that actually was something that my younger sister kind of was a little offended by. We saw one unit that was completely done, the other one wasn't. We were told initially that someone had just moved out and the family was still getting a few things out, but they wanted us to be able to see the unit just because of the fact that it would be available. If that was a unit that they chose to take, the parents could pick their colors, decide if they want flooring or if they want carpeting or whatever would work for them. So actually, it was a very nice unit, and actually it wasn't horrible for someone just moving out. It wasn't bad. We were given a little treat, which was really good. It was kind of like a dessert type of treat, so that was nice, and something to drink. "

"I paid a visit at Solon Pointe at Emerald Ridge and I learned they accepted Medicaid. Everything was very nice, from the staff to the rooms. The staff was helpful and accommodating. "

"I felt that the gentleman who took me on the tour at the assisted living community of Light of Hearts Villa spent a lot of time with me. He's a compassionate man, and I really appreciated that. He seemed to really care about what he was doing. There were some facilities that, just by the way they treated me on the phone, I would decide not to go there. This gentleman was talking with me on the phone, and he was kind and showed concern, so that's why I went there to go on a tour. Like every business, some people excel at what they do, and I felt that he would be one of those. Other places didn't seem to want to volunteer information or give me too much to go on, so I really appreciated him. I remember that they had exercise classes, music classes, and things like that. The facility was also clean. There was nothing negative about the experience."

"I saw a 1-bedroom with a den at Brookdale Montrose, and another 1-bedroom. They were very nice. They gave me a sample meal; it was very good. The staff members are very friendly. I had to take my dad to the doctor that day, and I called them and said I wasn't going to be able to make the tour, but I was just going to ride by to see where it was. They were waiting for me out front. As I drove up, they said that I'm still not too late for the tour. They took me around even though I had missed the general tour. They were most friendly and they have called me back several times. The parking was good there too, it wasn't hard to find a place to park. I went straight in to view the apartments, I saw a lobby or something where you could go and sit; everything was very nice there. They were most gracious and everybody was very nice. The accommodations were very good. I saw one that was a model and they had it furnished, and then I saw one that didn't have any furnishings. So it was just very nice and very pleasant look at."

"I moved into Copley Place last week. It's very friendly, very efficient, and it's in a good location for other retail services. I like it very much. I'm in their independent living and the food is very good. They have several activities too. They have a library, a TV room, and an activity room here too. They also have a small gym"

"Vitalia Senior Residences of Montrose seemed like a very nice place. Talking to some of the staff and meeting some of the residents, it seemed like the people were happy. The staff was very caring and very attentive. It's just very lovely. The residents are well taken care of. The facility is always clean and neat."
