"My mom has been a resident at Story Point for over 7 years. We have been so pleased for mom to be part of this community! She has a cozy apartment with a lovely view and enjoys having her meals with her friends in the dining room. The staff is personable & professional, and regularly provide opportunities to interact with the residents with activities, resident councils & holiday fun. We have great peace of mind knowing that mom is not just safe but feels that Story Point is home!"

"I toured Vitalia Senior Residences at Strongsville. The rooms I was not thrilled with because it's just one giant open room. So I wasn't thrilled with the layout of the room, but I like the facility. It was very kind of high-end. They were just very friendly, very informative, and very inviting. They invited me to bring my friend in for lunch. I would have chosen that one. The only reason I did not choose that one is because they did not have the Medicaid slide after two years. Everything was wonderful. The only issue I had was I didn't believe my friend would like the open floor concept like everything is open. She likes somewhat enclosed bedrooms, the boxy type of rooms she likes rather than the open floor plan. It wasn't as social as the other facility. The people seem to be more on their own independently, like eating. There is no set time like they can go and come as they please. So there's not a set time for lunch or dinner or anything like that. It was basically just everything's very open and fluid. I would say for someone younger it would be much better, but for my friend's needs and the fact that she's 95, the other facility just seemed to meet our needs better."

"We toured Vitalia North Royalton. It was nice, clean, and bright. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They're good."

"Cardinal Retirement Village was wonderful and very clean. The staff was very cheerful, answered all of our questions, and was patient with us. We toured the whole facility. I was really impressed, and Mom is living there now. They have a really nice dining area with a chef on staff, and I really liked that you can order off a menu. Your meal is freshly prepared for you, which is really cool. They have a library, little sitting areas around the hallway, and areas with different activities. They also had a community room available for families, a little kitchenette, a round table, and sliding doors that go out to a patio and green space. If you want to have a birthday party, you can use that space. My mom has a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. Her living room has two chairs, a good-sized couch, TV, and a computer desk. Her bedroom has a king-sized bed, a dresser, and a chest of drawers. The bathroom is wheelchair accessible and has a walk-in shower. Her kitchen has an apartment-sized stove and a smaller refrigerator that’s perfect for her. It has a huge storage area that she’s using as a pantry. They have a pull down door and a wonderful attic storage area that’s very clean and spacious. She also has a sliding door to her own personal screened-in porch. "

"Vitalia Senior Residences at Stow is a beautiful community with a very friendly staff. Everyone is very welcoming. There's a warm swimming pool, a fitness center, a bistro, a putting green outside, a Bocce ball court, a courtyard area, and a dog park. My dad's room is perfect. It's beautifully decorated, equipped very well for elderly people, and it's got a large walk-in closet."

"Danbury Woods is a very clean facility. It is a small facility and this allows the residents and the care givers to know each other a bit better. The residents are well fed and cared for. The rooms are a nice size and easy to move around in. The nursing staff does a nice job of caring for the residents and they are very personable and caring. The members of the staff I have contact with are very approachable and easy to talk to. The residents seem to enjoy the entertainment that is brought in, the family events,shopping trips, the themed parties and a wide variety of activities. My mother has been there for almost 10 years and enjoys being there."

"We visited and it's nice. The staff is friendly, and her name is Stacey, she's awesome. We're working on getting my uncle there, but finances are a little bit of a problem because they don't take Medicare vouchers."

"My father was at Mount Alverna Village. When he was there, he did get excellent care. They were very attentive and very knowledgeable medical-wise. They took really good care of him. Well, my dad didn't participate in anything. The only thing my dad did was go to Mass every morning, so I don't really know what they provide. The food was very good. You could tell it was home-cooked, and it was really good food. The dining room was small, but I think they did that on purpose so people can socialize. It was clean, and it had a very nice homey atmosphere. "

"My wife and I visited Danbury two months ago. We are interested in independent living which provides activities with fellow Independent living residents as well as the opportunity to use the activities offered to the residents of the main building. We found all of our requests met. We viewed one of the villas that has a beautiful view of the property lake from an all season room as well as an outdoor patio. We reviewed a list of resident activities and found them to meet our needs, including various classes, workouts and trips. I have an interest in history and genealogy and would be given an opportunity to teach classes. We didn’t have a chance to sample the food. While the food service is not included in the monthly lease, we would still have the opportunity to purchase meals at a reasonable price. We have been put on Danbury’s waiting list and hope that a villa becomes available soon."

"My mother is moving into Mulberry Gardens Senior Living. We chose them because of the amenities, the size of the room, and the food. The staff was phenomenal in helping us and answering all our questions. It impressed us as the most complete care and the nicest setting. They also offer a small discount for veterans' families, which is nice. The tour was great. They have a podiatrist who comes for their nails. They have a hair salon. It's well laid out. It's open, airy, and very pleasant. They seem to be very much on top of their game. They're very knowledgeable and very kind. We talked to a couple of the residents, and everyone seemed very happy. It's beautiful."

"The group of managers at this facility are the best I’ve dealt with in a long time. So happy to have found this place!"

"We toured the Danbury Hudson, and my uncle is scheduled to move into their assisted living in July. We chose it for him because it was well-illuminated and very well-ventilated. The decor of the place was also comfortable. It was not modern but also not traditional. They had a lot of good activities, or at least what I saw. The atmosphere was very relaxed but professional. We liked the fact that they had a 24-hour nursing staff and doctors who came in twice a week. They are also following the aging in-place concept, and they have transportation for residents who have appointments within a 10-mile radius for free and at an extra cost for more. The staff members I met were very friendly, very professional, and very down to earth. I appreciated that. The person who gave the tour was professional in a friendly and approachable manner. They had a population of about 70, and it was diverse, as far as level of care and ability. They had folks who were walking, in wheelchairs, and those who were doing well. Where my uncle was before, a lot of the people were deteriorating or at a level lower than him, so he really didn't have a good opportunity to try to improve himself or make the best of life. It was almost like you're just waiting to pass on, and I didn't want that environment for him. I thought Danbury offered an opportunity for folks to continue to live and make the best of their lives in their senior years. I was also looking for a facility that was clean upon entry and maintained that cleanliness for the most part, and they have that. When I went back with my uncle, we had lunch there, and it was fine. They had a nice selection, and it was restaurant style, so they had a menu. For breakfast, if you wanted something else, they had a wide variety of options available. I think food was very important for him, too."

"I'm the first resident who ever moved into Springwood of Hudson. It's totally independent. It's a wonderful place to live. It's very congenial and very cordial and it has lots of activities. If you want to participate, you can. If you don't want to, you don't have to. Everything is here. All you have to do is bring your furniture. We have groups that do various things, that is crafts, movie, exercises, and the participants are the residents. We have a man here that was a chiropractor. In fact, he's doing a stretching session right now. We have a beautiful outdoor patio. It has a grill, tables, and umbrellas. The staff is wonderful."

"Hudson Meadows Retirement Community is a very nice facility, up to date and clean. The other place I toured offers townhouses but this one has all apartments. Their amenities are very nice. They have a snack bar and the food is very good. I ate a meal there and it was also very nice. They have a nice theater, they have a pool which is nice, and an indoor pool. They have a nice snack bar where you go, get popcorn or anything that you want."
