"Vitalia North Royalton has everything you could possibly need. They have apartments and they have everything in there. It's not a huge kitchen, but yet a kitchen. Their menu is almost like a restaurant menu. If there's something on there that I know I can eat or whatever, that's no problem. I can or don't have to. Everybody was very friendly, the people that actually live there and the gentleman that took me on the tour. I was very impressed. The rooms seemed very pleasant. I got to meet some of the women that were there, and they're going to have bingo. It was really a nice place. It would be second on my list, except for the entry fee and what it costs per month. Compared to everything that you get there, if you had the money, that will be no problem, but I will never have that kind of money. It looked like the residents were very comfortable and very happy."

"My mother has been at Brookdale South Medina since early March in Memory Care with hospice. I am a frequent visitor and between the staff in Memory Care and hospice, I feel Mom is receiving excellent care. Although she is thin, she is high maintenance because she is incontinent, has a Foley catheter, is unable to bear weight and is moved from her hospital bed to and from her Broda wheelchair by Hoyer lift. An aide helps with her feeding because she tends to fall asleep and forgets that she is eating. I have observed aides and nurses remaining upbeat and vigilant while interacting with residents. They are also pleasant and responsive if I ask them a question."

"My Aunt is here and they have taken and continue to take special care of her. I feel like she is safe there and looked after very good. Family can stay 30 days out of the year I have not stayed over yet. Nurses and staff are very friendly.."

"I'm in Danbury Broadview Heights. Kim, the DON, makes you feel pretty good. She always has a smile on her face. She laughs with you. If you're having a bad day, she listens. She's a very good listener. I had an issue and there were no nurses in their station, so I wheeled down to Kim's office, and she handled the whole thing for me. I didn't have to get involved with talking to my dentist's office. There's a handful of aides that are very caring. When you have to take a shower, they're right in there with you, not in the shower, but in the bathroom. They kindly remind me that it's my day today, and I'll tell them either yes or no. They'll say, "OK, I'll stop back in and ask you again, but there's no pressure." They will help you with whatever you want. I dropped a whole bunch of stuff on the floor. I cannot bend over due to my accident, and they kindly cleaned it up for me. My apartment is a studio apartment. Everything I need is in here, such as a TV, dresser, sink, refrigerator, I have two chairs in here and a bed, and the closet. I talked to Allison that I am looking at a particular suite if it becomes available and she says she'll keep that in mind. I'm happy where I'm at, but when I bring visitors in, I don't think they want to look at my bedding. We have a bistro and a pub. We have two living rooms, one downstairs and one upstairs and the eating areas. There's plenty of places you can go to instead of just sitting in your room. There's a whole bunch of activities. They have nail care. They have Parkinson's, Lunch and Learn. They also have another one about dementia. They have a number of educational classes. Today they have Laughter with Yoga. They have seated workout. They have a game room down there. People play pool, shoot baskets, and throw axes at a board. If you don't take part of them, they encourage you to go to at least one or two and not become stuck in your room all the time. I've been to two or three other places before coming here, and this one is by far the best that I've been through. The staff is friendly and caring, but like human beings, sometimes we might have a bad day. There's no lack of interaction. We wear these little things around our neck because I have fallen a couple times and thank goodness, I had one of the buttons because I needed help and a speedy response. They are in the hallways every day. They just keep cleaning and cleaning and cleaning. At these other facilities I have been, you could smell urine or you can see people out in the hallways sitting in their wheelchairs. Here, people are mobile, in their wheelchairs or maybe they have to be pushed, but there are always movements. If somebody has an idea that they would like to see, they'll try it. Like we have a fellow that's 100 years old. He made a game and people go down and play it. The rates just keep going up and up and up. Every January, we can expect quite a hefty."

"My father is 80 years old. And although he is physically able to live on his own, we came to a point where his cognitive degeneration declined to the point where we felt he could not live on his own. He fought leaving his condo and independent life. But following a stint in the hospital, we felt it was a good time to make the leap. The Inn at Apple Ridge was able to meet our aggressive move-in schedule. The facility is absolutely amazing. We have noticed an unbelievable difference in our dad. He is happy, lively, and busy. His "check in" calls only last a couple of minutes as he is always on the move. He loves his room, the people, the food and the freedom. The Inn at Apple Ridge was best leap of faith we could have made."

"Here’s the most important thing…..my father is happy there. He’s made friends. I know he is safe and WELL cared for. I enjoy visiting my father often and see him so happy."

"I was a resident of Vista Springs Greenbriar Village. It's an older building, but it's very well-kept. I was actively involved for the first time in several activities, and that is because of the friendliness of the residents. So, I got involved. We had ice cream specials on Friday. They brought in a manicurist to do the patient's nails and give them a facial massage. It wasn't a problem, but they sent me a meal I couldn't eat. The chef came to visit me in my room and asked me to give him a list of the food I could and could not eat. He made my meals special for me every single time until I left. The staff was just beautiful. I've been in a wheelchair for the last four years, but they got me walking. I'm walking better every day. The physical therapy department was good. The building was very clean. When I first moved there for a couple of months, I had a room to myself, and then they had to make some adjustments because I shared a room with another person."

"The assisted living facility that I found for my client is called Mount Alverna Village. It is run by the Franciscan Sisters from Chicago. My client is a former Franciscan priest. The place is very relaxed and comfortable. I think the staff is very helpful and very interested in trying to do whatever they can do to make my client’s stay there as pleasant as possible. He seems to be thriving there. The room is physically adequate. The dining area is not terribly large, but it doesn’t need to be. It is sufficient for those that would be in the room at any one time. They have various activities, too. "

"We rent one of the Villa residences. Our home is beautifully laid out and furnished with excellent quality appliances. The community of neighbors are warm, welcoming and delightful company. The Danbury staff are available and responsive to any need. Salon services and entertaining activities add to the feeling of community! The compound is wonderfully designed and many of us enjoy walking and riding our bikes around the pond and neighborhood. We feel blessed to be here."

"I toured Heritage Crossing. It's going to fit my needs very well for my mother. The rooms were nice. The pricing was fair from what I'm seeing with the market. I liked it because there were more individual residents versus couples, which made it easier for my mother. In the lobby, everything is very welcoming. I like that they have very nice gathering areas all through the facility, so family and friends can always go off into a private area with beautiful furniture or fireplaces. They have a theater room. The activities that they have are fabulous. I met the chef. The restaurant looks wonderful. There's enough to pick some off the menu without being too much. I did look at the menu. It looks like a bistro-type menu. It was very nice, chicken waffles and that kind of stuff. I think the chef makes maybe one special for the night. Then you have a couple of other choices if you want. They had a trick-or-treat there yesterday from the kids' school. Kids in the area could come through. The residents made Halloween hats and cast and costumes and we're excited to have the kids there. I was impressed, like sitting in the lobby while I was waiting to talk to the medical director about my mother's situation. The housekeeper team, they're joking around with the managers. I love that. I just thought that they all seemed to enjoy each other's company."

"I toured Vitalia Active Adult Community North Olmsted. The staff was very nice, very accommodating, and very informative. I liked the food choices and the way that meals were set up, where they could do kinds of things on their own, but it would be much better for someone younger than my friend, being that she was 95 and couldn't really see a lot and can't get mobile herself, and she's kind of dependence on an attendant. The facility was very clean. It wasn't as social and kind of homey because they have availability to go around as they please, and my friend wasn't able to do that. They have that open room concept and she does not like that."

"My sister has been in Brookdale Montrose for a week now. I am very pleased with it. Of all the ones we visited, it was our first choice. The staff was very caring, very knowledgeable, and very helpful as we transitioned. The community is very nice looking. They take good care of it. The residents seem very happy there. What really sold us is, as we were touring, people would just come up unsolicited and just tell us that they hope we moved in, that we would love it there, and that they've been there three months, six months, or two years or whatever, and that they loved it there a lot. The residents seemed to really like it there, which helped sell us on the idea that it would be a good place for my sister to be. I have tried their food, and it's okay. They're very concerned about us liking it, so they came and asked us for positive and/or negative feedback. I think they're always trying to improve. They also have a lot of activities to choose from. The independent living cost structure is in line and is even a little bit less than some other places we looked at. They seem to provide a few extra services for that base price that other places didn't offer. So, I think that's a very good value. Everyone we interacted with was wonderful, as well. So far, we're really happy, and we hope the trend continues."

"We toured Brooklyn Pointe Assisted Living. It was great. Everything was perfect for what they offered. I was impressed with the place. It was clean. It was inviting. The rooms were very nice. The staff was great, too. They were very helpful and very informative. The dining area was very nice. They have a regular calendar of activities."
