We have had the unfortunate need to scour through 15+ nursing homes to find the right home to provide assisted living services for our Dad, only to have the last one REALLY the ball many times. LUCKILY, we found Danbury in Broadview Heights. Felicia - the facilities director, and Allison (sales director) and her crew of nurses, aides and other support staff REALLY care about taking care of the elderly and do an amazing job. They lead with their heart. STAND OUT AIDES are Amanda and Leah. What is great is Felicia LISTENS, makes adjustments as needed, and, is confident enough in her staff and systems to allow us to use remote cameras. This is helpful in training, course-corrections, or finding the inevitable occasional new hire that needs some extra training, needs to get with the program, or needs to get replaced. This is where MOST of these assisted living facilities fail, they cannot adapt, they do not listen to the residents' advocates and family to make improvements, they make the cuts in the WRONG wrong service priorities. ALSO, the food here is amazing, they have great family events for the residents and their families that run REALLY smoothly (a Hawaiian themed party that fed nearly 300 people in one afternoon)! Kudos to the chefs, kitchen staff and the events coordinator! They have plenty of daily events for the residents themselves as well. Finally - the facility itself is beautiful, with NICE, WIDE hallways, many activities rooms and quiet nooks. The Parkinson's wing and added Parkinson's support services is a huge plus as well. The maintenance team does a great job with the move-in process, and added support.

I'm in Danbury Broadview Heights. I like the people and the staff is super. I have no complaints at all. I just love it. I actually don't need any help. I was here with my husband. My husband has since passed away, but I am living here on my own in my apartment. If I need something, all I have to do is ask the nurses or I can even go to Felicia and she would help me out. I have a small home and kitchen. I have a front room and then I also have one bedroom and a bath. Some have two bedrooms and two baths and some are efficiency suites. If you need help, they keep your pills and then they pass them out. I can do my own pills all the time. We have a front walk where we can walk out and just sit and visit with the residents. We have a large backyard or a back patio. You can walk around the whole complex. There's a nice driveway that you can walk on. You just don't leave the premises. Unless you're going out with the family then you have to sign out and you sign back in. I'm happy here. After my husband passed away, the people were so nice to me. It feels like home. The staff here is great. They clean the apartment for you. It's a very nice place to live. The food is good, but not always what I want. They're always vacuuming and cleaning here. The activities are fine. You can do exercise, they have movies, bingo, and trivia.

I'm a resident of Danbury Broadview Heights. The food is wonderful. When I first got here, there wasn't enough food variety, and now there is. I have no problem at all with the offerings. There's a microwave, but I don't use it. They supplied a small refrigerator. All the things I need basically are supplied. I brought my own bed. I would give the staff a big thumbs up. I've not had an altercation with any staff here. Everyone I've met or had to deal with has been very pleasant and followed through on whatever they said that they would do. They have a variety of activities between 9:00 and 4:00 in the afternoon. There's trivia where the moderator asks questions and people are free to answer. I like that from the question and answer point of view but also discussions and getting to know the other people that show up that I wouldn't have known otherwise, so that's an added benefit. It's easy for me to get outside and to get back in. Basically, there's space outside the front door of the building. I just look out my window and I can see if anybody's down there. If somebody's there, I'd definitely go down and have a conversation or whatever. There is no place I'd rather be than here. I have a home outside, and I go there once in a while. The food has gotten much better because I complain if I don't like the food and they responded and I appreciate that. This place is expensive, but I get my money's worth, basically. They just increased the monthly rate and I'm on a fixed income, and that was a huge increase from my point of view. It's quite comfortable, quite clean, and the service is excellent. The reason I'm here is my father lived here and it fits my needs.

My uncle is a resident of Danbury Broadview Heights in memory care. He has dementia so it became a safety issue and he's doing great. We looked at a couple different places and this is the one that we liked the best. They provide everything. They provide three meals a day. He has a spacious apartment. It has a decent sized bathroom, sleeping area, and a little living area where he has his TV and chairs and stuff. He has a refrigerator and sink. He can't have microwave or anything like that because it's memory care, but they're very nice. He has one of the larger ones in memory care. It's locked down, but we can take him out at any point. Even within the memory care unit, it does have an outdoor space that they can go sit out in with picnic tables and covers. They have gardens and everything there. They can go out there on their own, but if they want to take them out to some of the other areas in the facility, then someone has to be with them. The staff is very attentive. I've had no problem with them. They're great. He has fallen a couple times and they call to let me know. Anytime I need something, I can call or I stop in. Everybody's been great. The food is very good. We had lunch and it's very good. It's very clean. They have a schedule that comes out monthly of everything that goes on every day from like 7:00 in the morning until 9:00 at night. They have a full schedule of things that everybody can participate in if they want. They're not the cheapest, but they're definitely not the most expensive. For where he's at and what he's getting, it's good. They do transportation to doctor's appointments. He has used it a couple of times, but they don't charge them unless it's after so many times. They've been great. I'm very pleased with them.

My mom is a resident of Danbury Broadview Heights in the memory care unit. Sarah is the activities director or manager and she does a very, very good job, always has a smile on her face, and always very friendly. Any questions we may have, she's always very willing to answer. Mom has been there for a few years now and we are happy with the staff. She's basically just in a one room area with a bathroom. She has a small sink and a small refrigerator, which at this point she's not able to use because of her condition. She has very advanced dementia. They have people that come in to do activities with them and do music with them. They do themed holidays like Mardi Gras and different things like that. For the Cleveland Browns or the Indians, they do sports affiliated things. They try to keep them active and interacting with things like that. They have a theater room. They have like a pub area where we can take them to feed them or just have more of a personal quiet time with them. The assisted living part upstairs does have a small library for them and somebody that comes in to wash and cut their hair. Memory care is on the first level. There's a lot of turnover with staff, which, from what I understand, is pretty common with places like this.

I'm a resident of Danbury Broadview Heights. The help here is great. They're there in a snap. You don't have to ask them twice. They're very caring. They get to know you. If you need something, they're there right away. I got a two-bedroom apartment, two full baths with a shower and everything. It's pretty good sized. I have a family room, living room combined. I got a little kitchen too with a full-sized refrigerator and stove. They have different ones and it depends what your need is. If you want a one-bedroom, they'll take care of it. There are different activities. They had trivia, tap, and a headband game in the bistro. They got a beautiful library upstairs, then they've got a courtyard. They usually have functions and the food is good, too. The medical part of it and the management department is pretty good. They get to know everybody personally. That's like a home away from home. When I leave, I never lock the door. That's how safe I felt it is.

The best thing about Danbury Broadview Heights is the food and the people that wait on us are fabulous. They do very good work on serving the food quickly and the food is excellent. I have an efficiency apartment. It has a bathroom and a closet. It's like 350 feet. It was a temporary stop. They were nice enough to take care of me when I had this obstacle on my leg. I needed somewhere to go temporarily, and I will be moving to their sister community. I want to thank the director and the lady, Alison, that took me in and they've been very, very nice to me. The only thing that they lack here is a swimming pool. I could be transported across the street to their community center, but this thing just came off my leg a month ago and there's no sense in doing that now. They have two floors and they have a lot of nice features. They have a big area where they have an activity room on the second floor. They have a game room and a lot of nice things. Everybody's been very pleasant. I have a motorized wheelchair, so I'm able to go out and get some sunshine. Their food is very good. Most of the staff, especially in the eating area, have been extremely friendly, helpful, and quick. The only downside is they're very expensive. I would have loved to have stayed here, but I couldn't afford the monthly bill. Our staff is great. It's a nine-year-old building. There's nothing wrong with it. They have many things to do, and I participate in some of them.

I'm living in Danbury Broadview Heights. Felicia is the executive director. I moved into Danbury four months ago and Felicia was hired a couple months after I moved in and she inherited some existing problems and within a month or so she had them all straightened out to resident satisfaction. She's a very positive, upbeat person and interacts with residents and employees in a very positive, upbeat manner. My interaction with the other staff is always very positive. My apartment is large and it's kept very clean by the housekeeping staff and there is plenty of storage space. There's a wide variety of daily activities to fit many different personality types. There's something to appeal to everyone. They have a back patio where you can sit and chat or read. Sometimes, they have happy hours out there where you take a beverage and mingle with the other residents. Felicia was able to weed out staff that gave less than her standard of care to residents and hire on to replace them with people that were more up to her standards and more resident focused. If anything, the only complaint about food is there's too much of it. One of the reasons that we checked in there is because it looks beautiful as we drove past and it was close to my mom and it was just as nice on the inside as we imagined it was going to be on the outside.

I'm a resident of Danbury Broadview Heights. What I like most is the relationship of staff with residents. There's quite a bit of personal contact. The staff has, for the most part, always been good. They're not always expert at what they're doing, but most of the time you get along really good with them. If you smile, they smile. I am in a studio apartment. It's fairly large. I have a twin bed, a recliner, a wheelchair, a couple chairs, a long dresser, a chest of drawers and a little bookshelf. I also have pictures hanging on the entrance wall of my family. There are different floor plans. We have one-bedroom, two-bedroom, studio and double studio. I look out onto the street, which is a highway, so there's a lot of traffic and I also look out a side window that looks to the north direction. It's a pretty big scene out there. We have the city hall and the fire department across the street. I can watch kids practicing sports and stuff like that. I have good views. We have activities scheduled every day from 10:00 until 7:00 in the evening. After dinner, there's usually nothing definite scheduled. It's kind of friends get together to play cards or to sit and gossip. From dinner on is mostly free time. The rest of it, you can pretty fill up your day. We have a spa, an exercise room, three patios, and the front entrance is with a big porch. You can go for nice long walks on the property. We've got a lake on the one side. We have some pets here. Some people have cats. They keep them in their room and there's a couple of people that have dogs and they either take care of them or have someone that does, so there is never a problem with getting out and running around bothering anybody. You can have a nice walk around the whole building. It's only two floors, but it's large. Most of the suites are just one single resident but we have couples. We have two sisters that share a bedroom place. We have married couples. It's got a very good reputation. We get transfers from other places a lot. It's very pretty and well taken care of. It's probably the top place in the area. They've won a lot of awards. I've been a resident here for five years and I've seen a lot of people come and go, both staff and residents. The staff, for the most part, is wonderful. I have had three young men who have given me showers and they are topnotch. I never felt like, "I'm not going to let this kid in here. I'm going to wait until a female is available." There's always plenty of food and if you don't like something, they'll change it for you. We always have choices. If we don't like the entree for the day, we can always get something. You always get enough. I usually get half orders and I'm very satisfied with that. The dining hours are very generous. There's a lot of offerings. We have exercise every day, stimulating things, cards, and we have a library. Every Monday, we can go shopping somewhere. At least once a month, they plan a place to go to lunch. Being across from the city hall, we can go over there and use some of their facilities. We all complain that the price is so high, but when you figure it out, it's what it would have to be in order to give us all that we get. Anyone who's here can afford to be here. It's quite reasonable for all that you get. We can't really complain about it at all. We have a lot of new management people.

I am a resident of Danbury Broadview Heights. Sarah is our activity director. She's a very outgoing person, tries to do her best, takes us on nice trips and we even went to Columbus, Ohio on a gambling trip one time. That was fun. She's just a very nice, caring person. I've been here four years now, and I've seen a lot of people come and go, but the staff that we have right now is very good. We have a new director here at Danbury, and she seems to be making a lot of nice improvements. I have a beautiful one-bedroom apartment with a nice porch, and we have house cleaning once a week, and because I am independent, I don't rely on a lot of the services here, but if I need something, there's always someone around. We have a beautiful game room with hoops, ping-pong and shuffleboard. We have a bistro and a pub where once a week we have a happy hour, and they serve beverages for us and treats.

My wife has been a resident of Danbury Broadview Heights for about two years now. It's been a very, very good experience. She's very well taken care of and they're very, very good at what they do. She has a single room, and it's in the memory care division. It's very clean, very neat, and well taken care of. They have fishing, coloring, painting, and exercise. There is a courtyard and there are also sidewalks all around the building that they can walk on. The food is great here.

The Danbury Broadview Heights is a best in class facility that takes the “aging in place”philosophy seriously. It has a clean, well-appointed, cheerful interior, a great variety of apartment layouts, amazing enrichment programs, and top notch food; however, the biggest selling point is the exceptional staff. There are so many angels on this team, from the nurses to the aids to the administrators, who go above and beyond when it comes to caring for seniors in all phases of life. Special shout out to Sara, Shannon, Sheila, Jo, and Maria. My parents experienced both the Assisted Living and Memory Care aspects of The Danbury and found that it always rose up to meet them where they were. We are grateful and confident in the care here.

My mother has been at Danbury Senior Living in Broadview Heights for 1-1/2 years. The entire staff at Danbury have been courteous, kind, respectful, and attentive to my mother. I have seen the staff also show the same courtesy to all their residents. Whenever an issue has occurred, I have been able to call or text the staff and they have replied and addressed my issues within a day or two. Having staff that take time to reply to issues in a timely manner shows they take pride in their work and want to ensure a safe, healthy, and enjoyable environment for their residents. It also informs care seekers their concerns are being thoughtfully listened to and addressed. I will share there were times, when first moving mother to Danbury, that I had to make repeated calls to the staff that my mom's bedding had not been changed on a weekly basis or her clothes had not been picked up for cleaning or billing issues for room service or Rx services were regularly occurring. However, the staff was responsive and met with me in person to discuss why these issues may have occurred. A positive outcome to resolve these issues was agreed upon by both parties. This helped ease my mind knowing that the staff understood the importance of care seekers being heard and that solutions could be addressed in a timely manner for their loved ones (i.e., my mom). The staff also encouraged me to continue bringing any issues to their attention, no matter how big or small. It is important to note that for many assisted living and memory care facilities, staffing is always an issue. It is the nature of healthcare in the U.S. However, the Danbury staff works hard to ensure there is always adequate and caring staffing for the residents. There are many choices for assisted living facilities, but selecting Danbury for my mother was a positive move.

Mom likes her room. She's in a one bedroom suite that is very spacious. The food was better in the general assisted living area compared to Memory care area. Mon wishes she had access to more ice cream. It's not as great in the memory care area. The staff is great especially Sara, Stacey, Tammi, and Sheila. They are very attentive and make sure Mom is well taken care of.

I seldom give perfect scores. Overall I am/was pleased with the Danbury and the care my father received. There were somethings I was concerned with, such as, there were times when my father needed assistance to use the restroom and no aids were around. There were times when I would clean his room because the cleaning staff had not gotten there yet. The aids, hospice, cafeteria staff, activities staff, cleaning staff and nursing staff all showed a great amount of care and concern for Dad’s care, health and well being. For the most part Danbury staff kept me appraised of any concerns . I believe that we, our family, made a wise choice placing Dad in the Danbury.

A variety of private room sizes, nice size bathrooms, plenty of closet space. The atmosphere is welcoming and offers many different rooms that residents can go to- craft, music, tv/movies, dining area, outside patio, sitting area-all comfortable and safe for the dementia resident. Organized crafts, music, etc. are available for residents to participate in. An organized, professional, caring staff. I never worry about my mom as I know she is well cared for and loved and safe.

Our family is so glad that we found Danburty Senior Living Broadview Heights. It's so hard to find a place that will allow a husband and wife to live together in the same unit in memory care, which is really what my parents needed. For some families, one spouse lives in assisted living but the other one needs memory care. Because the memory care unit here is in the same building as assisted living, it is much easier for spouses in this situation to visit and spend time with each other every day. As far as the staff, everybody here at Danbury is so welcoming and friendly, whether they are from the front desk, administration, kitchen/dining room, hair salon, activities, or part of the medical team. My siblings and I will often go for a visit and enjoy a meal together there. There are also fun special events or cookouts on occasion. Another thing I really appreciate is having a hair salon there on-site that my mom and the other residents can use regularly - so incredibly convenient! Working in a long-term care facility is not an easy job, but the staff is so helpful, and we always feel like we are treated like family here. We are very happy with this facility and would recommend it to others!

Rooms are nice. Staff is wonderful, of course like anywhere they could use more employees. Turnover seems high, but I understand this is typical in the industry. The group activities are very good therapy and their conscious effort to get residents out to socialize has been very good. They do a good job with housekeeping and general upkeep.

Danbury-Broadview Hts. has a caring and compassionate staff that is very conscious to the needs of the residents. The receptionist is wonderful she knows every resident by their first name. The Life Enrichment Dept. has four people that offer a stimulating environment that encourages engagement and nurtures your mind and body. The emphasis is on variety. Enjoy chair volleyball, enjoy live music ,and happy hour on Friday. We celebrate holidays, go on shopping trips, outings to restaurants and local attractions like a horse farm, the Cleveland Art Museum, the Cleveland Aquarium and Cuyahoga County Fair Grounds Holiday Light display. The chef is wonderful and accommodating to the needs of the residents. The dining room offers a lot of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And a variety of desserts. I am a happy resident and I really enjoy my time at Danbury-Broadview Hts.

Danbury Senior Living Broadview Heights was very nice and very clean. The person that took me around was very helpful and very friendly. But I didn't see a lot of the residents, just very few. It was so big that I lost track of which direction we had to go, to get to where we started. So there's no way my dad is going to find his way there, he's going to get lost. It was very nice but it was just too big.

My friend is at Danbury Senior Living Broadview Heights. I liked it because it's a new facility and it offered much storage. The room has a refrigerator and a sink, like a kitchen unit, and it's homier than just a plain room with a closet. They are very accommodating, very personable, and very caring. She's complaining it's too much food, but I think it's a very good place, very, very clean, and very expansive. It's not crowded, and she has plenty of storage for her things, like clothes. She has a nice closet, and the bathroom has shelving for towels and toiletries.

Danbury Senior Living Broadview Heights was impressive. They had a bistro and a library, and the dining room was too large that could sit 100 people. I didn't taste the food. I even asked and they wouldn't let me taste the food, but you could get prime rib or steak and you had a lot of options. I didn't like the oversell by the staff. I like the hallways being very wide. The rooms were nice and good sized, but the facility was too big for my mother.
